We left Animal Kingdom at 5:15.
We took the bus to ASMu and arrived at 5:45.
As we went through the lobby, I went to the luggage stand and told them that we needed our luggage brought to our room. "Oh, yes maam, that's the luggage that was transferred from the Polynesian, right?" I was pleasantly surprised and agreed that it was. I wanted to shower before we left for our 7:20 ADR and I figured it would take us half an hour or 45 minutes to get to California Grill from ASMu. (There's no easy way.)
So I head back to the room while Sam takes the kids out to get some pictures. Lily's kindergarten teacher had told her that her homework was to get pictures of things that started with M since that was their letter of the week. She saw the giant M outside AllStar Music & wanted a picture with it. It turned into quite a photo shoot.
(love that pose!)
Meanwhile I'm waiting on the luggage...and waiting...I can't do anything without my stuff.
It's 6:10. I call again.
"Oh yes maam, it's on its way."
I can see out the window to the doorway of the main building. It's not on it's way.
It's 6:20. I have Sam call.
"Oh, luggage? From the Polynesian? Hmmm.... yes, it's here. I'll send it."
Finally, at 6:30 we get our luggage delivered. At this point, I can't take a shower. I can't fix my makeup. I dig out Morgan & Lily's clothes and throw them at them to change. I'm so freakin' annoyed I can hardly see straight. I finally count to 10 and do the "I'm at Disney. I'm at Disney." chant until I get over myself.
We get to the bus stop at 10 'til 7 and I'm trying to stay calm and happy. Lily has on the prettiest dress I've ever seen. Morgan looks incredibly handsome in his Disney polo. We're waiting and waiting and every bus that goes by is going to Downtown Disney. I know they want us to go spend money, but is it too much to ask to let at least one freakin' bus go to the Magic Kingdom.
By the time we get on the bus, it's 7:00 and I'm having a nervous breakdown. We were planning on taking the bus to MK and then the monorail to the CR, but when we see just how far away the bus stop is from the monorail station we decide to hop some bushes and hoof it to the CR. We head down the road and hike to the Contemporary. (It's really not that far...)
We check in at the Contemporary desk, huffing and puffing, at 7:30 and are led up on the small elevator to California Grill.
Coming next: California Grill review, the most beautiful view I've ever seen.
