1/29 vs 1/30 MK
I was surprised to see 7s for crowds the last weekend in January on the weekends from Easywdw's new calendars but Josh is almost always spot on in my experience so I trust his judgement. I realize it's the Pro bowl but that's not expected to draw in huge crowds unless something has changed. Also I know the new Epcot festival will be in town so maybe that is having an effect which is why I was planning to avoid Epcot. Anyway, it is what it is. I am trying to decide on MK day between Sunday 1/29 or Monday 1/30. I usually avoid Mondays like the plague but with a CL7 on Sunday vs CL3 on a Monday... and both days MK is not recommended... not sure what to do. Adult trip so staying till 11:00 close Sunday is not a problem but CL7 has me worried...

you know he stopped doing hte calendars becuase he felt he was nowhere near close to somethign you could use to plan with. They new one just came out yesterday trying a new method..

I said this in another thread, I think the first week of jan is wrong and low on his calendars but it's a new method and there will be tweaking. you have to make something to figure out if your correct or not.. there is too many schools that start mid week and many that don't start until the 9th and the marathon crowd has started to arrive already...

Now a huge huge huge plus, it's going to be a high of 60 and low of 32 tomorrow. I'm ready to go for that cold, not sure how many others can handle it with what they brought with them.

True. But I think when he stopped (and I 100% agree with why he stopped as you mention) that he would not have come back unless he was basing it on wisdom and experience. Yes, he has to try it out to see if it works. And I agree that the first week of January seems off. But if all bloggers, he has always been most accurate in my experience.

I don't disagree, I used the list of what was happening that might influence attendance more than I did his actual calendars. that research was some serious disney crowd wisdom and I hope that continues, it's really easy to overlook something like canival in brazil started and they are on their way.

FWIW, this is a cut/paste from the co-author of Josh's books site. Not sure if I'm allowed to post book or other website names. I guess it's possible Josh is following similar logic. I know if I was a Disney crowd blogger I'd overshoot my forecast for that event JUST IN CASE. ;-)

The Pro Bowl will be in Orlando for the first time in 2017–on January 29. Disney World will be hosting a number of events related to it, mostly at ESPN Wide World of Sports, but also at the Magic Kingdom and Disney Springs. I’ve forecast an increase in crowds the during the week that ends with the Pro Bowl, but we won’t really know what kind of draw it is to the parks until it happens.
