These photos of National always remind me of Long Beach before their expansion.... although long beach was a little more art deco
I'll be through there soon for a conference.

We usually fly out of Baltimore/Washington International but flights were so much cheaper in and out of Reagan and it’s not far so we went through there this time. It’s a decent airport, smaller than most so easy to navigate. Never been to Long Beach airport (been to LAX though)These photos of National always remind me of Long Beach before their expansion.... although long beach was a little more art deco

I'm going to national harbor for a conference so it's easy, and alaska has a direct flight form SFO.We usually fly out of Baltimore/Washington International but flights were so much cheaper in and out of Reagan and it’s not far so we went through there this time. National harbors a nice area, hopefully you’ll have a little bit of down time to check it out. And wow, the only airport I’ve ever been to where you board the plane with stairs outside like that was on the Cook Islands! I never knew there were any airports in America that still did that. That’s cool though.I'm going to national harbor for a conference so it's easy, and alaska has a direct flight form SFO. View attachment 947716
long beach in the old days was 4 gates and walk out to the planes, now it's got 10 or so gates, still air stairs.
lots of low key art deco details. They kept the old buidling but TSA and the gates are all out behind it now.
Thank you so much! It was a lot of fun to write this and relive the trip, and I’m glad you enjoyed it. As for our next trip, as of now we’re planning on going the last week of February into the first week of March, staying at Boardwalk or Poly, depending on who goes. Still working out the details but this trip will include Universal. We usually visit Universal the first or last 2-3 days of our trip, but we didn’t this time and all the kids missed it. Gabes a big Harry Potter fan and a big How to Train your Dragon fan, so he’s excited to go to the new Epic Universe at Universal. He’s also not very happy our next trips “so far away” but we have some other trips planned between now and then to different places, so at least he’ll have something else to look forward to before then. He’s most excited about going to Myrtle Beach this summer, he loves it there. In the meantime, to scratch our “Disney itch”, we’ll do monthly “Disney nights” where we watch a Disney movie, eat food themed to the movie, in a room decorated themed to the movie. It’s a lot of fun and because of these Disney nights my kids have seen just about every Disney movie, even the older more obscure ones, like Swiss Family Robinson. I think I posted some pics of a few of the Disney nights in my pre-trip report. That pre-trip report has the wrong picture of one of my daughters that was supposed to go on the trip, because originally she was supposed to go instead of Isabella. It also has an old pic of DH because that’s the one he wanted me to put on there lol. Anyway, I’m glad you enjoyed coming along on our trip and thanks for all of the great comments!Sorry to see it end. It was wonderful, I felt every "this was so good or fun" and every "we froze to death" remark.
Now, when do you start writing your preplanning trip report?????? You already have some gift cards, so it can't be too far off, right? And to quote the great Gabe......"when are we going to disney again , Mom".
Thank you again for taking the time to post. It's a lot of work.
Thsnjs so much! That ticket is a great deal, and you’ll have tickets to the water park which will be nice in the summer! And 5 people in one room sounds a lot worse than it is. Like I said in my report, I actually enjoyed being so close together sometimes. And it’s much cheaper than getting 2 rooms or a multi bedroom villa, so you can stay longer! The closest to going in the summer we’ve ever done was May. Have a great trip and stay cool! I guess you’ll be there during Foid and Wine? That should be awesome! Have a great trip!Loved your trip report! We are a family of 5 that also stays in one room. I can’t believe that set up has worked for us every year so far seeing as all three kids have their own bedroom at home and range in age from 12-19. Must be Disney Magic! We bought the 14 day ticket for the first time to use this summer as we are going for 13 days. Normally we buy the 10 day ticket but the 14 day ticket was such a better deal! So glad your family had such a great time! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks so much! And for sure this trip will be all the more memorable because of the freezing cold. And “oops” experiences making trips memorable is so true, I clearly remember one trip as a child where my father loaded the dishwasher in Old Key West and put in dish soap instead of dishwasher detergent and the entire kitchen area filled with bubbles lol. We still talk about that all these years later. Thanks again, glad you enjoyed the report! What a wonderful trip report! Thanks so much for taking the time to share it- I am sure the discomfort of the temperatures will add to how memorable the trip will be over the yearsSome of our clearest memories from trips with our family are the "opps!" experiences that we can now laugh about. Love your wrap up as well. Thanks for sharing.
