Perhaps this is a great way to do some PRE-DISNEY Vacation activities! AMC Theatres across North America (U.S. AND Canada) are offering $1.00 Admission for children and adults on Wednesday mornings throughout the summer! All proceeds from admission and concession stand purchases are being donated to Children's Charities. All the movies being shown seem to be Disney and Pixar ones! Check it out!:wizard::banana:

Didn't read the article but just wanted to say I saw Pixar's/Disney's UP last night and it was really good. I cried, I laughed, I felt something about the characters....I really liked the movie and message it sent.

Our local AMC turned into a Lowe's a few years back so can't take advantage! But, I still go every Tuesday night for free with my Optimum Rewards Card!!

Edited to add....I had it backwards.....our Lowe's turned into an AMC so maybe I can take advantage of the $1.00 movies!!! (realized when I went to the movies the other night).

It's not any movie, though. And the movie changes every week. Honestly, the movies sort of stink. Some old stuff...

Nice, though, if your kids don't really care what they see...good opportunity to get them out of the house and into some air conditioning on the hot summer mornings.

This is the list of Movies. Older Movies? Yes, but Stink? Not in my kids opinion. Some I would say from an adult perspective, I personally am not interested in, but some others, definately. But I'll go to all simply because my kids would like to, and like the above poster said, great escape from the heat on a hot summer day!

Movie Schedule**
June 17:Space Chimps
June 24:Kung Fu Panda
July 1:Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
July 8:Tale of Despereaux
July 15:Horton Hears a Who
July 22:The Spiderwick Chronicles
July 29:Nim's Island
August 5:Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Wow all four of my kids would :lovestruc love to see all of these movies...except "the Spiderwich Chronicles"...but sadly there isn't a participating movie within 64 miles of us?? Which seems really odd since we are in Northen Ca near Sacramento. Wonder if I could find the complete list of which theaters they are showing in? Thank you OP for the post/link you rock!!!

Wow, didn't even know AMC was still in business.

Oh, never mind, I checked their website, none within 40 miles on my house.

I think 1 of the AMC theaters we had here is now a boat repair place, and the other was torn down for a grocery store.

for 3 bucks we can go to a movie - i'm there,

we'll go see madagascar, tale of despereaux and horton as long as it's not packed

This is our 5th Summer taking the kids and they absolutely love it!!! I only wish these theaters would include a few Disney movies. Disney must not allow this (or I suppose it's possible that the fee they charge for a showing is simply too high) as I've noticed that AMC, Cinemark, and Dickinson have never included any in their Summer movie programs.
