Thanks for the suggestion, Mary. Just went and checked our two reservations and there is a mistake on each of them!! My DD's name is spelled wrong--don't know if that's important but it won't match her passport--and Phil's and my stateroom is not what they told us on the phone. Very frustrating. SIGH!! More calls on Monday, I guess. I'm so grateful you suggested this as it wouldn't have occurred to me.

You may be able to edit it yourself on the website. I know you can change the address and birthdate online.

I checked on member website and it shows a reservation, but that number doesn't work on disney cruise line website. I am sure it will work out fine if they already deducted the points. Thanks for the suggestion, I will call them Mon.

You can call DCL to get your reservation number for website access. I believe they are open on Sundays too.

Had a busy signal for 1 hour and 20 minutes Saturday morning. When I finally got through I waited with music for 25 minutes. It was hell.

My mom (64) and I (41) will be joining you all. First DVC Member Cruise for me but my mom did the 2007 Member Cruise.

I understand that the cast members are all in a rush but the female cast member I spoked to booked my room without me every saying okay. So mom and I are on Deck 2 - Category 10. My dad told me to try for Cat 8 (which I should of asked for first since the cast member booked our cat 10). I just said cat 10, how many people, she put me on hold to talk to Disney Cruise line and said I was booked. I literally said wait a minute I was checking on availability. I would have argued but really she sounded like she was going to hang up the phone on me and sounded real nasty without me saying anything bad (I know she is stressed). I did try to call back but kept on getting a busy signal. After 1/2 hour I gave up. I never even was able to give her our Castaway Club number.

I think Disney could cut their wait time if the Disney Cruise line people booked the cruise or something. You call member services, the put you on hold for them to contact the cruise.

Looking forward to talking and getting to meet all of you.

This is my first member cruise, so I wrongly assumed that they would be able to book the cruises directly in their office. If TAs can access the DCL booking system, I don't understand why DVC can't. When I worked for Walt Disney Travel Co back in the 80s, we had PSA airline computers on our desk, and could book the flights for the guests right when we booked their hotel pkgs.

You may be able to input your CC number when you access your reservation on the DCL site. If not, I'd try calling DCL directly and see if they will put it in for you. MS may try to charge you the $95!

Good morning Member Cruisers
We sail in 44 weeks!

I must say that the rep I had yesterday morning was wonderful. I was pretty stressed because my phone kept acting up (and just because I tend to get stressed on call in day). I know Robin and Mandy had already gotten through and it seemed they were on hold a lot with the people they were booking with. When I got my girl (I believe her name was jacqulin) I stated that I wanted a cat 7 preferably on deck 7 and that we'd be paying 1/2 points and 1/2 cash. She asked which dining and I told her early. I don't think she was gone very long at all when she came back and said that she got our room and that it was one of the cat 7's that used to be a cat 5 (Robin got the other). She confirmed all the names, birthdays, etc. Asked about our CC number, asked about passports, everything. When I checked our reservation on DCL everything was fine.

Really sorry to hear some people had problems. I'm guessing as they day went on both those booking and those trying to book got more stressed. No excuse for rudeness. I just know I wouldn't want their job on booking day!

Good Morning Mary and Mark.It was great to talk to you guys last night on our way to the hockey game . Our grandsons team lost 2-1. We have two more to go to today.

I think they had to call them in as many reservations were being booked on points as a trade out with DCL and this technically is a chartered cruise.

DCL should have your CC number on file. You can call DCL to verify this.

Good morning Dan, It was great talking to you too!

All you have to do is click on the one in my signature then select properties. Highlight those and then go to your user CP and edit your signature using the new logo. Hope that helps.

I too had a great rep (Jenny). I was originally going to try for a cat 10 on deck 5 or 7 before the cat 11. But after an hour of busy signals, I knew they would be gone by the time I got through so I just requested the sideways 11 like we had on the 2006 cruise. Jenny took my information (most importantly my phone numbers in case we lost the call). She found Mary in the DVC system as I had her member number too. She asked for a preferred stateroom number and dining before she called DCL. When she came back on, she told me she did get us 6521 as I had suggested. Then she went through all the booking terms (we joked that I knew them all but she wanted to make sure she had completely done her job). She didn't rush me at all.

I had Dominick on the phone yesterday and he was organized and fine. My only complaint is he would not give me the room number till the very end. I kept asking and he would say "hold on, just a minute". I had my trusty ship map with me and wanted to double check location before confirming. All was well though..

I agree with everyone else, it must have been quite a zoo there and I would not want that job for anything yesterday.

Thanks Mary and Mark for the siggie logos! They look great!

Karen--you made me very curious. How does a sideways 11 differ from a regular category 11? Is is preferable?

Fox news is live from the Wonder right now. Must be a good sign!

I'M HOME - Trying to reading everything.

They shot 4 segments that morning.

I was in 3 of them.

DID ANYONE SEE ME????????????????? STANDING ON THE FRONT ROW

The cabin is basically, well, sideways. It's a bit more spacious than a regular 11, the door is about the middle of what you'd call the side wall of the other staterooms, and the layout is different. It's interesting.

I'll try to be a bit more step by step.

  • With your mouse highlight the logo in my sig
  • right click and choose 'copy'
  • click on UserCP above
  • choose edit signature
  • right click where you want it to appear and choose paste and save. :)

If that doesn't work, I'll have a text version to cut and paste up on the website by the end of the day. I'm editing it up now. :)

Hello, everyone! Now that the day is past, it doesn't seem so bad, but yesterday morning..... Now that I am booked I am just so happy. I want to thank the people in the chat room yesterday once again. They really supported and encouraged me while I was waiting. And they all stuck around until I was finally booked! I am sure they had a lot to do and for someone they didn't know at all. I am very grateful.
So, only 308 days to do. Do we celebrate when we get to 300?
