I'M HOME - Trying to reading everything.

They shot 4 segments that morning.

I was in 3 of them.

DID ANYONE SEE ME????????????????? STANDING ON THE FRONT ROW

Welcome home Kay! Sadly I wasn't watching very closely as I was focusing on trying to get through to book. I wonder if anyone taped it that you could get a copy. There was a post about it on the main board you might want to ask in.

Yep I was on hold for a while when he was booking our room. I don't know if it had to do with the fact off we were doing part points and part cash or what. He got all of my information up front, CC numbers (and I only had mine, I didn't know they give everyone a number), all the information to book. I requested category 8, deck 6 and actually requested a specific cabin number. I got it but while on hold I realized I should have given him an alternative just in case, luckily I didn't need it.

He also could have taken a bit longer because he found out dh, and both ds's CC numbers for me. Which was nice. He was calm and polite. However I am pretty sure I was his first call of the day.

Overall I would say it wasn't to bad because I hung up the phone at 9:31. I know he giggled at me because I didn't think someone would answer the phone so quickly and I said, "OH OH, I need to book a cruise please!"

Good luck for anyone trying tomorrow!

I'll try to be a bit more step by step.

  • With your mouse highlight the logo in my sig
  • right click and choose 'copy'
  • click on UserCP above
  • choose edit signature
  • right click where you want it to appear and choose paste and save. :)

If that doesn't work, I'll have a text version to cut and paste up on the website by the end of the day. I'm editing it up now. :)
Sounds good Mark will check web site later, but I think we have it.

Yep, just got home about 10:45 am. Tons to do and unpack and straighten out.

Kaitlyn just got picked up and I'm baby free........... Oh man, what fun the last 5 days were............

We ended up with 4 b/day cakes during the cruise.

Kept busy all the time and really didn't get to do everything we wanted to do - but what we did was enough.

Now I will unpack, wash clothes and pack again to leave on Saturday for anaother 4 day on the Wonder again on Sunday.

GLAD TO HEAR THAT EVERYONE got what they wanted.

I was thinking about you on dial in day.

FOX & FRIENDS did shoot several commercial segments all around the ship.

They put brochures and notices in our rooms to let us know when each time was so that we could participate.

Believe it or not, very few people showed up. It started at 6:30 am and guess many people didn't want to get up that early. It was very cool also. AND VERY WINDY.

The segments were shot at 1/2 hour intervals.

It was quite an experience.

I'll be back once I get myself settled down. Have to go to Vets and get my Shelby also.

Ok for anyone on the fence or for those of you who are weird math people like me, I decided to see roughly how much more the member cruise is compared to a DCL booked cruise either the week before or the week after the member cruise.

For me I booked a category 8. Cash cost for the member cruise for 2 adults and 2 kids (11 and 7) is $3068. Going through DCL for the week before, 4 night cruise, same category it is only 390.08 less (total $2677.92) if I chose to have their transfers and travel insurance.

I would decline both if going through DCL because we drive for one and I can get travel insurance cheaper through somewhere else. So if I deduct those that brings the total down to $2165.92 (or $899.08 less than the member cruise).

BUT I would add travel insurance through an outside place, cost us roughly $100 (based on the average of what we could have paid last year) so bring that down to $800 less.

AND the cruise also doesn't include tips like the member cruise does, based on what I remember from the 07 cruise, (I can't remember exactly but I remember the dollar amount, just not the cents). We would shell out $175 in tips between the stateroom person, server, asst server and head dining room person. So again reduce that down to the member cruise costing $625 more than a regular cruise.

Overall that $625 (over a family of 4) isn't to bad considering we get 4 of each gift, the two stops at CC, and special guests and activities.

So if there is anyone on the fence, there is a rough breakdown of how much more expensive the member cruise is than a regular cruise. I was quite surprised that it wasn't more.

Our Room assignment was:

6654 -

I will volunteer our room for a get together and meet and greet at anytime - we all agree on - the day we board. Around 3 p.m. seems to be a good time - the drill is at 4 pm and then the sail away party - so the time seems to work out well for all the times I have arranged it.

It is a very large room and balcony around 1/4 of the ship, aft.

We will figure it all out later..........

back later

Hello, everyone! Now that the day is past, it doesn't seem so bad, but yesterday morning..... Now that I am booked I am just so happy. I want to thank the people in the chat room yesterday once again. They really supported and encouraged me while I was waiting. And they all stuck around until I was finally booked! I am sure they had a lot to do and for someone they didn't know at all. I am very grateful.
So, only 308 days to do. Do we celebrate when we get to 300?

You are most welcome! It was my pleasure to assist and I know I would have appreciated the support in the chat room, too, if I needed it. :)

So nice of you to offer your room Kay for a get together!

Lucky you to be leaving again so soon for another cruise!!

Kay that's a great idea as long as you don't mind all these people coming through your room and onto the balcony. I was going to suggest we pick some place other than deck 10 because of how hot it got up there. Was thinking of the promonade lounge but your room and balcony sounds great.

The website is now up! DIS Member 2008 Web Page

I've also started the Member gallery. I've left in those from the last cruise that I know are sailing again. If you have given me your new room number I've added it. Otherwise you will have to send it to me. I've used the same pictures as last time with the exception of Dan and Nancy and Bruce and Nancy (I had new pictures of them taken on the cruise). If you want your info removed or anything changed (new picture etc.) just let me know.

Again this info is just a way for all of us to get to know each other before the cruise. If you want your info included here is what we are looking for:

Send your info to member2008@monorailgreen.info

Dis name of anyone in your party that has one. We want at least one person from each group to be an active DIS member.
Real names of eveyone in your party and relationship (husband, wife, daughter, friend, etc.)
Cabin number(required only for the button - if you don't want it published we will honor that but we want to make sure the buttons get to you if you miss the meets)
Birthdays of everyone in your party
Anniversary date
Year you bought into DVC and where you own (for the buttons)
Early/late seating
Where you are staying the night before the cruise? (not for the grid on the web page but so we can try and coordinate a DIS meet the night before)
Button? yes or no (specify who is getting one- be detailed!)
Photo (.jpg or .gif please so we can get to "meet" you and your family)

The above is just a way for everyone to get to know each other before the cruise. If the group wants we can password protect the picture gallery page.

How much info you give is totally up to you. We only ask for the cabin numbers for the buttons so we don't get stuck with them and have no way to get them to you.

Also the buttons are at no cost to you. They are our gift to the group to help identify fellow DISers.

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

The first chance I get, I'll go to post #1 and do the update for what I can.

If everyone will check it from time to time and let me know all changes and updates that I don't have, we'll keep it so everyone can understand.

With what Mary has on the photos and on the Post #1, we will be up to date with everything we all should know as we go along.

If you want me to list your Stateroom number, I'll list it and foro those WHO DO NOT WANT IT LISTED, I will respect that.

You can send me a PM and let me know.

OK - later again ------------------

Congrats to everyone who got what they wanted and are now booked.Im sure for anyone who has not booked yet you still can on monday. The 2007 cruise was not a sellout so dont get crazy if you are still on the fence about going. If you ave never been on the cruise dont worry about what room you get since time spent is only for sleeping. You are to busy to spend time in the room with all the activities they have going on.Im not booked for the 2008 but the 2007 was so good that im like a big baby knowing im not booked this time around.Everyone was so nice to my family and that makes it harder knowing im not going again.

Billy

Lookslike DVC is using the same site for this cruise. They have changed the numbering in the sand to 2008 and the welcome message is for 2008 but the logo and everything else says 2007. I'm thinking they are changing it as we speak. :)

YEAH! We are cruising again in 08. Last one was in 05. I will update our info. for new buttons soon.

Well shoot, I was going to print screen this weekend info from the 2007 website to put in my scrapbook, does anyone have it that they can forward to me via email??

Send me a PM if you do please.

I was going to do the same thing. The one time I was hoping they wouldn't be so fast to change. :sad1:

Billy I am right with you. We aren't going either. It makes me sad cause every one we met was great. But for the money we would rather do a 7 day. Maybe when these kids are out of college and the money isn't going out faster than it comes in.

Well the rest of you have fun planning. We want to see tons of pictures. I will really be mad if its Julie Andrews the sound of music is my favorite

Cool!! We're in!!! Even got ambitious enough to make some animated clip art. :) How's it look? If anyone wants to use it, feel free.
