jemiaule - sorry to hear about the bad experience your mom had. Maybe she'll change her mind later on.

Mary Jo - it might be your user name causing problems in chat. I know it doesn't recognize spaces in names and maybe your / is the problem. You might want to try getting in chat with just pkkmjk and no slash. Of course too late for this morning but maybe you can join us in chat some Friday nights.

So for the most part, all ended well. Except my mom decided not to go on the cruise with us, while I was on the phone she said to book just me and my husband. :sad1: The whole experience with the phone call soured her I think. She says she wants just me and my husband to go so we can have a trip to ourselves...I am not sure if I believe her.

That is really sad!!! What a shame that her first experience has to be a negative one. :sad2:

This morning my husband was making our ressie with a rep that seemed brand-spanking new. The guy had to be walked through the process - wasn't a problem since my husband knows DVC inside and out, but would have been a huge problem for somebody new to DVC. Not a great choice of personnel for such a high-volume call day.

Congrats to everyone who got through and hopefully won't be a problem for those who are still trying.

We are also at AKV before the cruise 14-12 Sep. I booked a 1BR concierge so we could do the safari. I didn't realize until after we booked that not all of the concierge rooms have a savannah view. I hope we get one, as I don't intend to do concierge again.

I thought the cruise dates were the 21st - 25th.

Isn't the weekend you booked a full week before the cruise?

Maybe I have my dates wrong for the cruise.

I agree Carol. The upgrade strategy only works with a Cat 12 GTY. DVC does not book gty rooms.

DVC doesn't have point charts for cat 12 on other cruises. Maybe they are making an exception on this DVC cruise and booking GTY. It'd be interesting to find out if anyone got a 12 GTY.

I would think gty to DCL is to cover either unsold cabins or the inevitable cancellations that happen with any cruise. And while I'm sure there will be a few dropped due to some other obligation kind of things, I agree too, they probably won't have much in the way of unsold to upgrade up.

I'm booked! This will be my second cruise with DCL and my first member cruise.

Decided to go with a deluxe outside stateroom with no balcony (category 9) to save on points and have some extra WDW days before and after the cruise.

It's 430 and they don't have any updates aside from the 2pm update. I am thinking this cruise isn't going to sell out today.

Dan & Nan
We got Cat 4 rooms. No Cat. 6 available. Look forward to seeing you on the cruise.

Nanc and I are Cat7 foward 7503.
We will be staying at OKW again in 2008. We plan to go down a week before.
aftyer we got back from the Cruise we went to Saratoga Springs and bought 110 more points plus the bonus 100. So now we have 260. They offered us the same deal they had on the cruise.
Oh by the way Phil my cut I got on my head on the bus healed up fine no scar. Thanks for the bandaid HA HA. You guys have a great weekend.

Not sure why they aren't updating but I think you are right that it won't sell out today. I think only 2005 and 2006 sold out same day. 2003 sold out in a day and a half.

Right now I don't care if they sell out in one day or not. I'm just glad to be on it and happy to hear so many DISers also made it on.

Welcome to all the first time Member Cruisers!

Yep, I am happy that everyone that wanted to get on did and most everyone (if not everyone, I haven't heard reports otherwise) got the category they wanted too.

Phone lines are closed. Did everyone get on board today?? Is there anyone that will be dialing on Monday?

Remember that you can check your reservation online at www.disneycruise.com Just put in the reservation number DVC gave you when you booked. I just checked and ours is all correct!

Thanks for the suggestion, Mary. Just went and checked our two reservations and there is a mistake on each of them!! My DD's name is spelled wrong--don't know if that's important but it won't match her passport--and Phil's and my stateroom is not what they told us on the phone. Very frustrating. SIGH!! More calls on Monday, I guess. I'm so grateful you suggested this as it wouldn't have occurred to me.

Now, for only personal information mistakes, you really need to contact DCL directly. If you need to change the reservation, such as adding/removing people in cabins or a direct mistake in cabin number such as yours, then you call DVC.

I would call MS Monday if you did not receive a confirmation number. Should have been one of the last things the MS rep told you over the phone..

I checked on member website and it shows a reservation, but that number doesn't work on disney cruise line website. I am sure it will work out fine if they already deducted the points. Thanks for the suggestion, I will call them Mon.

Congrats to everyone who called in this morning and got in. I am still waiting to see what to do because we are cruising in March on Royal Carribean and I still want to do the Member cruise with my daughter so I dunno. Will the phone lines be open tomorrow? I am glad the cruise didn't sell out today.

Right there with you!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Now to speculate on all the exciting themes they could come up with for next year's cruise. If DVC wants to try topping this year's cruise, let them knock themselves out trying. One suggestion...how about getting Julie Andrews. I think she'd love a Disney cruise. :cool1: Or how about an exclusive Dancing with the Disney Stars special performance... :rotfl2: The possibilities are endless.
;)
