09/18/11 - DVCers Take Over the Dream (S.S. Member Cruise 2011) - Thread #7

Us NY/NJ people need to stick together. Christa and I are going to stay at the WDW Dolphin I think. we come down Thur 15th after work. Around 8pm

I've never stayed at the Dolphin - how is it (been there before?)?

It would be fun to get together the night before the crusie, but I think we're going to stay at the port - haven't made those reservations yet though.

We just got our plane reservations today. We will come in on Saturday before the cruise and probably stay at the Radisson at the port. Then we are booked to do the B2B cruise afterwards and come in on Sunday. Then we have a day to play at Downtown Disney before going back on Monday morning.

If we do the Land Meet at the Boardwalk, any idea how late I would be able to get a shuttle bus back to AKV?

They don't run real late. You'd probably have to take a cab back.

Terrie and Wally, I was so saddened to read about the loss of your beloved Disney. My heart goes out to you at this awful time..

I lost my Fluffy 6 years ago (shih tzu) and I cried and felt as though my heart was truly broken. Our pets are loved by us and are a real part of our families. We have another baby now, Jasmine, half maltese and half shih tzu and she did not replace, but was there when the time was right for us to take a new pet into our hearts.

Will do. As far as Disney buses go the downtown bus runs the latest till about 1am or 2am. So you could take the downtown bus from BWV to downtown and transfer to the akv bus.
I always Refer to downtown bus stop as "Jamaica" ( only long islanders get that)

Unfortunately, there will not be time for it this trip but maybe after we all settle back in at home I will bring my buddy out and we can play a round of golf with Dustin and Tom.

This way we are prepared for the next time we are all visiting the world at the same time

We never stayed there before but walked through a million times BWV is our home. I found a good deal via my AmEx card. So thats what we think we are going to do and it is right next to our home. But we are checking out Saturday morning and staying at our friends Rich & JoAnn who live in FL so all 4 of us can drive to the port in the morning.

That sounds great! I have an add-on at BWV - I like it there, but my favorite is still OKW.

I was 14 before I found out that you do not ALWAYS have to change at Jamaica...

This is one of the only photos I have from Bob while he was there - ooooh, it sounded good to say "when" not as he is there! He is the one with the hnd on his shoulder and has sunglasses on. Good-looking boy!!
