I noticed that several of us came home sick. Just wondering what kind of illness y'all had?

I spent about 4 days in bed, after returning home -- bodyaches from head to toe, slight chills/fever, sore throat.

Hope everyone is feeling better now!!

:goodvibes

Same here...slight chills (no fever that I know of, though), sore throat and achy body. Mine started my last day at WDW...I thought it was just pure exhaustion (from averaging 5-6 hours of sleep a night), but since several people have said they've been sick, I guess it wasn't exhaustion after all. I sure hope everyone feels better now. It's bad enough coming home from vacation....being sick just takes it to a whole new level of depressing!

I came home congested. I am pretty sure it is due to spending time out in the heat and then inside in the air conditioning both on the ship and at WDW. Add too little sleep and maybe a little too much to drink and it is the perfect storm to break down the immune system.
It is a small price to pay for the great time we had.:rotfl2:
I hope we all feel better soon:goodvibes

She loves frou frou drinks. the only thing is that she is allergic to oranges and milk/cream.

I can make Calypso-tinis which were a hit at Dan & Sue's after cruise party. No oranges or dairy in it. Pineapple juice, coconut rum and grenadine :thumbsup2

The following is an unsolicited testimonial on behalf of the Calypso-tini.

THEY WERE AWESOMESAUCE GOOD!

we now return you to your regular programming:happytv:

Hey Terrie! Are you willing to share your Red Velvet Cake Martini and Italian Margarita recipes? Some friends and I are getting our drunk on tomorrow night. Our scout troop officially blew up Tuesday night. The fall out should be interesting. I'm resigning the five duties that I've done for the past five years. I won't continue to serve when the adults who caused the issues sit on their thumbs and complain while letting everyone else do the work. It's now my turn to sit around and complain and place blame while doing nothing to help.

If at all possible, can everyone get theirs done by Saturday night? (there's a coupon for $15 off the CD)

We will order the cd and then when it comes in we will make copies and send them out. So if you are participating PM me your address.

Please PM me with any questions! :goodvibes

Is this for photos at WDW, and not the Dream Ship? We didn't have any professional photos taken at WDW, just wanted to clarify because I'm pretty sure they wouldn't let you buy CD photos from different staterooms. But it sounds like an excellent idea! Had we known something like this was possible, we may have taken a few. We didn't figure it was worth it for the one day we were onsight.

DELETED: Never mind, wrong drink. I keep thinking about those Red Velvet cake drinks ... mmmm

Karen - so sorry to hear about everything falling apart in the scouts. It's such a shame when people (such as yourself) volunteer their time and effort only to be so disrespectfully treated by others who wouldn't even think about volunteering their time.

John - yes, this is for the photos at WDW. If we would have thought about it beforehand we would have brought it up on the thread and organized it a little better. But Junior didn't even think about it until the middle of vacation! DUH!

No worries ... I didn't think about it at all, and Lara says we have done that before with Caitlyn & Cody.

I did see you Terry & Wally but you were on a tram in front of us and to far to say hello. also spotted Terry in line for food at Castaway but as I turned my head you were gone and I am pretty sure by pictures you were with Juniors wife. Sorry I never got to meet you all. Terry & wally, thanks for the FE on my door. Very sweet of you to include me and my friends in. thank you very much. So now it is time to do all the unpacking.
have a great day to all of you.

Hi Sandy! Welcome back. You are welcome for the FE. I am sorry I never got a chance to meet you in person. I am guessig the tram in front of you that we were on, wasn't the one I jumped off of and ran away from because I spotted Jack Sparrow in the distance :rolleyes1

Ugh, unpacking. I still haven't unpacked everything :upsidedow

Thanks Debbie! The whole thing is so disappointing. I'll be glad when Tuesday is over and I've had my chance to rant.:headache:

I know you had them with you, but did you get pics of the bears with Jack too?

Yeah, I haven't unpacked everything yet either. Still have to unpack all the FE gifts and the misc stuff (Magic Bullet, shampoo, moleskin ... ya know, stuff!) bags.

But of course :flower3: WOW!!! Sounds like some major drama  Feel free to dish ... popcorn:: er, uhm, I mean vent :rolleyes1 I will commiserate with you tomorow :thumbsup2 at right about wine o'clock  While I have no major drama to deal with, I am rather frustrated that Kate & Curran still haven't hooked up yet and I'm on book 4already :headache: (Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews). I've decided that is a good enough reason to get my drunk on too :lmao:

Italian Margarita: one serving
1 shot tequila (I use Patron or 1800 Reposado. Sssshhh :ssst: don't tell Fernando)
1/2 shot Amaretto di Saronno
1/2 shot Triple Sec
3 oz or so Margarita mix or sweet n sour mix
shake n serve over ice in a salted margarita glass.

Red Velvet Cake martini
1 shot Van Gogh Dutch Chocolate Vodka
2 shots Pinnacle Cake Vodka
1 1/2 shots Godiva chocolate liqueur
1/2 shot Chambord
dash of grenadine
3 oz chocolate milk
2 oz heavy whipping cream
(optional) 1 shot creme de fraise (or any strawberry flavored liqueur)

Pour into a shaker over ice and shake well to chill the contents. Then strain it all into a blender or magic bullet (no ice in the blender). Then and add 1 tsp of red velvet cake mix into the blender. Can't have clumps of red velevet cake mix in the drink  Once it is well blended pour into a chilled martini glass that has been frosted with cream cheese cake frosting.

Nope. Jack is mine and I am not sharing him with the bears :snooty: :rotfl2:

Hey, I noticed you've been on every Member Cruise since '07 ... I was just wondering how this one compared to prior years??

I must admit, we were rather disappointed (after all the hype, 20th Anniversary, new ship, etc.) in "the loot" given out by DVC ... not to mention, there didn't seem like much offered as far as 'guest speakers', special events -- or heck, ANY events! :rotfl:

Anybody else feel like it didn't quite live up to their expectations? We had a great time ... just guess we expected a little more. Probably won't do another Member Cruise. We spent a week at WDW prior to the cruise and prefer the cooler temps of November (our usual travel time).

We usually go on 7-day cruises on the Magic ... the sea days are filled with lots of activities to choose from on the Navigator ... this just seemed lacking to us. Wasn't sure if it was because of the shorter cruise, different ship, or what?

The Dream was definitely GORGEOUS and my kids loved the AquaDuck.
