Good Morning Russ! No worries, everyone here is very nice. After managing to get through 11 threads I think it's evident we've got plenty of senile people posting on here and I include myself in the lot

The thread that would specifically discuss the Member Cruise is this one so please feel free to ask any questions The special guests and/or events that usually take place on the member cruises from what I understand generally are not released before hand (at least they weren't last year) and are usually a surprise for all once on board. General info like the recent changes to the boarding process, the new ship etc. booking/discussing excursions are certainly discussed too. However, I'm sure you've noticed that many of your ship mates have taken the opportunity to try and get know each other on here, or compete to try and win the and and game by posting and of course break the record for number of threads related to a DIS cruise meet. This all explains the off topic conversations and random silliness from a group of people who not so long ago were strangers that has somehow managed to become a DISfamily You are part of that family too and so is everyone who comes here whether they post or not. So please ask away and feel free to join the insanity we've created here

Speaking of race cars, we went to Menards last week and they were unloading two (demo?) cars in front of the store. When we came out I was showing Laran the cars. There was someone by the farther car possibly signing autographs and/or handing out trinkets. Laran was tired and Lara had the car loaded so we left.

After the race, I saw that Paul Menard won. Seeing him on TV and thinking back, I believe that's who was at the car we didn't look at.

Do you remember what day it was John? If it was Monday, it may have been Paul Menard. Not being the biggest fan of the taxi cab series, I am not sure I could pick him out of a crowd. The Nascar teams, on the whole, do a pretty job of public appearances for their sponsors. We went to Green Bay to see Tony Steward at a Home Depot several years ago.

Most teams have "show cars". Those are cars that they build that can be run on different tracks (such as road courses, short tracks {Martinsville, Bristol} or superspeedways like Daytona or Tallagega) but they use them for PR purposes when they aren't needed for those types of races.

Terrie is right, we are a very odd group. Yes we discuss the cruise. And often we are so far that we need road maps, sat nav and maybe even NASA to find our way back. But the whole idea (at least in my mind ... ) is to have fun, get to know our fellow cruisers before we get on the DREAM and maybe have some fun with it. (I know, I repeated the FUN part deliberately. )

Some of us have taken the opportunity to get together and meet each other. (For example Truffle, his wife and Hoosier John with his wife met in of all places London, for dinner.)

Again, . Jump in anytime. If you have any questions, don't be shy. Someone will know either the answer or at least be able to direct you.

How have you and Susan been doing? Last we heard you were going to be celebrating 40 years of wedded bliss and Susan's birthday during our cruise. (from my cheat sheet, not memory) Congratulations!!!

Did you have any specific questions, or just wanted to see the latest information we have? Either way, like Terrie said, I know it's kinda hard weeding through all the pages of random chit-chat to find anything, so feel free to ask again. Someone will happily answer again.

Milford has a pretty good list of what we (DISboard people) are planning for the cruise. It's on page 1 of these threads at the top of the first post. Lately we have been making some plans for the last few days of the week after we cruise.

Hi everyone! I just got a call this week that my name came up on the waitlist so I will be joining in all the fun - travelling with me is hubby John. I am very excited to be going on a Member Cruise cuz I love to meet other DVCers and I enjoy my DVC since it helps me get to "my happy place" a few times a year!!!
I am interested in joining in one of the brunches if there's an opening but I can't find a thread that is not closed already. I do help host DVC chat when I'm in town and I am looking forward to meeting all of you!

I will probably have to print out the info here so I can remember where to find all of you - you've been a very busy group!

Oh! Speaking of senile, I forgot to say that it is OUR first member cruise, first Disney cruise, and our first cruise together, AS WELL AS MY first ever cruise that doesn't involve Deck Watch!

Aboard Like Michael (M & N Potter) said above, we're trying to get to know each other here. I can say that it works too, because when we met up with Dan and Sue (Truffle & clayfolks), who we've never met before, it was like seeing an old friend (sorry Dan, by old I didn't mean you were ... nevermind, you know what I mean)

Sorry this thread is moving so fast. If you want a snapshot of what's going on, at least what we have planned from this thread, take a look at the first post on the first page of this thread ... the first 25 lines or so. Then if anything sounds interesting to you, come back here and ask us about it.
