As I said, I've been scraping for 9 years. I have a room devoted to scrapebooking. When I purchased my home, there was a small apartment above the garage, just one room and a bath. I put in shelves and desk and all my scrapebook supplies. I go up for hours and work on my books, especially during the winter. I didn't get as much done this winter as I usually do and I am several months behind.

I don't do themed books. I do a progression of my DD's life. The books begin with the Ultrasound pictures and then follow her life. I have no idea how many books I have. I'd say thirty maybe. We love to curl up together and look through them. She asks me to tell her about the days when certain pictures were taken and why I took them, especially the ones of her when she was a baby. I have pictures of her that are absolutely priceless.

It's a very rewarding hobby. Anyone trying to get started should stick with it and anyone who has not tried it should give a try.

That's a great gift for her! My mom actually got me into it since she did one book for me with the pics she had from baby until I graduated college.

That was my goal. I wanted to give my DD something that would let her know just how much I have loved her from day one and as it has turned out it is also proof of how much everyone else has loved her to because I've included everything. All of her Grandparents, Aunts, Unlcle and Counsins. Even though we are divorced, I go out of my to make sure that there are pages that include her Father's side of the family, especially him and his other kids. He gives me pictures of their family get togethers and holiday celebrations.

The down side to doing scrapebooks is that it means I will spend a fortune at Shutters. If they take the picture, I will buy it. I have never been able to turn down a picture of DD.

I feel bad right now b/c I spent some money buying pics at Shutters and they are still in the bag. I want to make sure I finish all the 2005 cruise pics before I have this year's pics mixed in.

I'm a scrapper too. In fact, I am in the middle of our last Disney Cruise album. I told DH that I needed to finish it before we get on our next cruise but just can't find the time. I have tons of Shutters photos that need to be scrapped and I'm disappointed in myself that I haven't done anything in months. I bought the disney cruise scrapbook album (kit) on the last cruise. I'm sure I'll still have some left to scrap before we leave but I am hopeful to get most done before we leave.

I got my cruise travel kit in the mail last week. I was reading through it and in the back, it talks about renting tuxedos. Are these really necessary?

P.S. Did I tell you guys that on our last disney cruise we got "family of the cruise?"

I have the same problem, no time but really want to do it. I am looking forward to our vacation at the end of the month so it will have to wait until we come back.

That is so awesome! I was reading about it from a new thread and I think Gail would flip if she gets it. It is a very nice alternative. I would definitely use it but I think I would go to the restaurant too, even for the dessert. I enjoy relaxing and the restaurant atmosphere to have the cocktail of the day and just interact. Plus they really make you feel special.

I read today on another thread about this "family of the cruise" thing. I would love to be selected just because of getting to order dinner in the room from the restaurant menus. I am so concerned about my DD and me making through a two hour meal. We are the "get up and go" type. I can't imagine actually sitting at a table that long regardless of how good the food is. I couldn't afford a Cat 1 or 2. They always get to order from the menus. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I am celebrating a little today. Today I received my tickets to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party in the mail. We are going on December 19th. Some of you should try to join us.

Gail,
It really doesn't feel like it is 2 hours long. The servers are very attentive and even entertain the kids a little. You get so engaged in everything going on that you won't even notice.

Several people have told me this and I hope it's true, but it is just so out of character for us. We are use to eating on the run. My dinning room set is three years old and we have actually sat down to eat a meal at the table less than ten times. We normally don't make reservations for meals while on vacation at all, because we seldomly want to stop what we are doing to go. Plus, I figure that we have to add another hour to the lost time to account for going back to the room, showering and changing to look presentable in the dinning room. Since we have never been on the Magic, we have never done any of the activities. From looking at old Navigators, some of the things that we most want to do will go on during the dinner hours. Besides, when we are on vacation or doing anything away from home, I have to make DD eat what she does it. She gets so excited and wrapped up in what ever we are doing that she doesn't get hungry and doesn't want to sit still long enough to eat. I have promised her that we will give the dinning a try and if we can't handle sitting there that long just to eat, we will take our meals at Topsider's.

The good thing is you dine at different places and they are really different and so are the themes, a new experience each day. On the cruise kit I got it mentioned four different themes and I am actually looking forward to all of them:

Pirate Night Dinner - i would not miss this one!
It's a small world dinner - international fare
Captain gala dinner - French cuisine
Master Chef Series - I am intringued.

I want to schedule Palo when none of these are taking place. I hope the May 27th cruisers bring Navigators!! :bounce:

We have only taken the 4 night so I am excited to see how different the food is on the 7 night. I am gonna eat like there is no tomorrow.

Amanda,
You keep messing with my head! Your ticker says 3 months and mine 4 months. :rolleyes2

Hi all,

Do you want to hear something cool. The legal counsel for the company i work for is taking his staff on the Disney Wonder today. They are all going together. I just found out the other day from his paralegal. I tried to tell her evdrything I could in the few days she had before they left. I told her not to miss Palo and all the fun drinks of the day.

I know they will have a great time. i can't wait until Monday when she gets back. I did suggest to my boss that he needs to take us accountants on the next one. :teeth:

have a good wednesday............

Well guys, I took a big step today in trying to drop those extra pounds before the cruise. I joined Weight Watchers. I just got home from our first meeting. It was a huge step for me, but I have tried for weeks to get a diet going on my own and just could not do it. I hope this works. Has any of you tried Weight Watchers?

My sister tried WW and she did lose weight. It sounded like a lot of work to me - trying to remember the points and stuff but I think that as long as you follow it correctly you will see results.

I am still not 100% better so I have not hit the gym just yet. I have kept those little lbs off but with our upcoming 2 week vacation...I'm not sure it will stay off. Hopefully all the walking and sightseeing would make up for all the yummy food I'll be eating. Someone told me that dieting is not allowed when you are on vacation so I am abiding by this rule.

My plan is to starve between now and Sept 16th. Then, I'm going to eat everything I get my hands on on the cruise. I'll probably gain every pound back in seven days, but that's alright.

You have probably already said, but I can't recall, so where are you going for your vacation?

Good luck Gail. I am going to have company for the next three weeks. So starting June 5 I will begin the starving when every one is gone.

Let us know how it goes.

Good morning all. We had originally been booked on the Nov double dip, but due to an unforseen.........Pregnancy :rolleyes1 we had to move things up a bit to meet the 24 week rule!

Cruising wil be myself Jay 36 DW Jen 36 and DD Gracie 3.
This will be Jen and I's 5 DCL cruise, 4th on the Magic, but will be Gracie's First! She is very excited.

Welcome aboard and congrats. This is a fun bunch.
