09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Hello fellow member cruiser’s of the SSMC09!

Just wanted to tell everyone I called for a quote on the Disney dream this morning. I was trying to figure out the cost of points with going to WDW in December 2010 and doing a cruise on the Dream.

Here are my findings. Did not think it was bad. I was confused at first because I forget about the new tiers. But we wanted a Cat 6 Mid ship. They are now depending on the floors. This is for floor 6 thru 8 and the cat are 4B thru 4D. It was between 528 and 546 points for 3 adults. Not as bad as I thought. Also, this was a 5 night cruise and the date was 6-7-11

But when I was talking to the girl I realized I could not book today because I have to wait till I can book my December 2010 at WDW.

Oh well just wanted to share my findings.

Lisa – I asked when the points chart will be on line and they said they are working on it.

A 2011 reunion's cruise sounds like a plan. Now if I could only convince DH.

and another one onboard ...now for your DH, has he seen the pictures or webcast of the DREAM??? How could you not want to try out that slide? And your DS will be in the Oceaneers Club by then. I can not resist.

Lisa, your idea of a 2011 member's cruise is fabulous! And I think it might be hard to get one of the virtual portholes now. Right now, I'd take anything!

If so we might just go especially with the added benefit of being on the Dream and with all of you! Don't forget to add to the to do list a place for the Sunrise club to get together!

I was lumping that in with number 5. I do not think it will be deck 9 anymore. The 09 was on deck 9 and I think the 11 will be on deck 11. If the beverage station is on the same deck as pools it will be on deck 11. That will be easy to remember.

Oh, Lisa, all this talk of 2011 makes me excited. I told DH last night about all this talk and he just smiles and laughs. But the thought of cruising with you all again, the sunrise club, the dis meets, and so on, and so on, just sounds so good. We are definitely keeping this in mind. We'll see how this years cruise goes. But of course, it really doesn't matter cuz for us, and I know I'm repeating myself, it was the people we met that made this our best cruise.

Monika - good luck on call in. We will have the laptop with this weekend so I will check in to see how you did with your calling. And you too, Marsha! It will be so nice to see some familiar faces on the cruise.

Dianne - congrats on your DS wedding. Gotta love weddings!

Good Morning Deck 9 Sunrise Club & all of my Friends! ​

Seems like everyone is really taken with the idea of the 2011 Reunion Cruise! I haven't seen this much chatter since right before we left in September! It's fantastic!

And as if it hasn't been repeated enough, it was the new friends I made on this thread and on the cruise itself that has made this such a memorable time for me and I don't want it to stop! I treasure the days when I can get on the computer and chat with a friend - even though we only met face-to-face on that one occasion! Hopefully these friendships will last - like the ones Mary still has!

Chris, good luck with daughter and braces today - Dustin is due there very soon. Make lots of jello!!

Dave, April sounds good - hopefully no snow this year. I'll let you know when we make definite plans (crossing my fingers).

The way things have been going on the Member Cruise, they may put DVC on the Big Red Boat!!! Anyone remember that?

I wrote a long email to DVC to voice my concerns about the member cruise this year and how disappointed I was. D29 got everything I thought I might get. And how the website was not even updated. I got an email back and was told that my email was passed on and that someone would call me. So we'll see what happens.

I'm with you - right now, I'd take anything! Glad so many of us like the idea of getting back together. I look at that picture of all of us under the gazebo, singing a Jimmy Buffet song and just smile and laugh - what a great time!! I'm going to print that one out and put it in one of the frames that came as our gifts.

And I haven't a clue as what that money stuff is either!!

Mark, that's a great plan, but I know we won't be doing Alaska any time soon unless they lower their prices (loud laughing here). So we'll just have to pray for the member's cruise to happen.

Sue - I would love to see the picture of the gang at CC singing Margaritaville! Everytime I hear that song now I think "It's all Gary's Fault!" And I think I had two drinks in my hand too!

And I have the picture of us who had an anniversary drink together printed off and in one of the photo frames we received. It just reminds me of good times. So, I'd love if you would share the other one.


Braces update - everything went fine. Took about 1 1/2 hours. She is talking funny tonight because they are rubbing. And she is only eating soft foods. Which I don't blame her. I'm just sure the end results will be worth it though. They were with the oldest daughter.
