09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Since we have never eaten at Parrot Cay, we have always eaten at Beach Blanet or Topsiders, what is the difference? Other than Parrot Cay having no outside seating. Is the food all that different?

Dianne,

One is inside and one is out side. Beach Blanket is out side by the pools and drink station. Parrot Clay is one the rotation places for dinner.

This is going to be so much fun for you.

DH is not usually one that likes eating outside, except when it comes to cruise ships. I guess I'll let him decide. Since I have pretty well planed everything else.:rotfl2:

Chris,
When we ate there the food was the same just inside like you said. ALso, they have servers that bring you your drinks. They also had bongo players there. It was a nice touch and a nice way to begin the cruise.

The food is pretty much the same at both the only real difference is you get drink service at Parrot Cay.

You'll see us matching a lot and that makes packing easier. That's why I use a spreadsheet. Mark and I discuss what we're going to wear, I put it in the spreadsheet and then I use the spreadsheet to pack. We combine the bags so that if for any problem (not driving but I'm used to packing this way) one of the bags go missing one of us won't be out of clothes.

So for the cruise we only really have two bags. A garment bag with the nicer clothes and a medium size rollaway for the t-shirts, swimsuits, shorts, etc. Of course that isn't counting the other bags we are carrying on (button bag, FE gift bag, etc.)

WOW, Mary, you are really organized!!!

So we've had this discussion before but since we are getting closer to boarding day....

where do you plan on eating lunch on boarding day?

Hummm we have done Topsiders both times, so maybe it will be Parrot Cay. It if it HOT, definitely Parrot Cay due to my bark~

Congrats to Flo on the :bride: and Dave on the pirate:.

From me too!

Hey everyone, my wife and I are having a blast here at WDW, check out our first day blog!!

http://www.themarriedtraveler.blogspot.com/

Have a wonderful time...wish I were there. Love the blog!~

I WILL NOT GET SICK....UGH:scared1::scared1:

Oh, I hope that you don't get sick!!! It's not fun at all

We usually overpack as well, this year I am taking the bare minimum. If I need something they have stores onboard! I really think she wanted to know what I was wearing to dinner and such.

We are NOT overpacking this time...not with the cost of flying a suitcase! I am using my carry on for my FE things. DH and I are sharing a suitcase. We will just have to do laundry if we run out...I plan on living in my SS..twice to CC and a day at sea...and hopefully get some reading in.
I am so excited to see what they are going to do for us on the cruise.

Someone said about steaks at the cook out on the adult side...we had them twice and they were so tough that you need extra teeth to chew it. Not good. Maybe they will buy a better cut of meat for us to get us in the mood to add on!

I have a question..does DCL have different color carpet in the hall to show you which side of the ship you are on?

We sailed princess. and the design in the carpet are diferent colors, it really heps you know where you are.

Hello Dianne

I don't believe the carpet is different from side to side. If it is I didn't catch it.

Dianne,

Good Question!

I was sitting here trying to remember the carpet. I agree with dave If it is I did not catch it in all the cruises I have been on.

We tried Parrot Clay on the last trip and I think we will try that again. Lat time they had some one playing the bongos and it was a nice way to begin the cruise.

Thanks for the congrats everyone.

We always go to Parrot Cay for the first lunch. DH and I are usually so hot, we seek out the A/C.

I seem to have some recollection of there being a way to tell fore from aft, but I could be mistaken.

We've had a very interesting Labor Day weekend this year. My mom passed away last year and we've had her condo on the market for a while now. So of course, Friday night we got an offer from people who want to close on 9/22! Doesn't it figure? I told the realtor we'd be on vacation next week, so trying to get all the ducks in a row has been a royal pain, especially since there's a lot of furniture and stuff to get rid of. This week will be a doozy!

Joanne- Congrats on selling the condo, what a short time frame to close. Good Luck getting all you need done before leaving on vacation

Well, DS is getting ready for his first day of school tomorrow. We had told his principal that we were taking him out for a week so she got in touch with his teachers and they put together some work for him to do - oh he was soooo happy! :rotfl2:
