Oh my gosh! I couldn't imagine that!! I never even THOUGHT of that happening!!

I saw that happen in Cartana, I might have spelled that wrong...oh well ..they never made the ship.

we came close to missing the ship in Panama, we were on Princess and the ship entered the lake and would turn around and go back through the locks. we got off and took a small boat through the other set of locks and were to be tranported back to the ship in another port. well it took so long to get though the second set of locks. they had buses waiting for us, it was 4 buses racing across panama with a police escort...thrilling, they don't have stop signs or lights. as the driver told us you just don't make eye contact once you do you lost your turn. at one point we thought we were going to be hit by a trash truck. we were very happy the ship waited for us, it was a princess excursion. The captain was standing there waiting on the dock for our arrival. we thanked him for waiting. very memorable,

I know what you mean...I would get a lot more at 65...and if I am feeling well and things are good, I will stay..
Hot dogs were great...had a good time.

Susan, sounds like you have had many life-changing experiences yourself. Very glad to see you wrote "almost" about your child. I hope they are well now. And your brother, oh my, I can't imagine. But things like these change our lives, and I also hug and kiss goodbye every time - every time!

I love your funny story - don't ya just love kids!! :rotfl2:

Our youngest daughter is doing great, clean going on 4 years. She is married and has a 2 year old. If ever anyone thinks it would never happen to their family, addiction knows no boundaries. I never dreamed as a nurse that any of our children would have become an addict. But it happened. And for almost 2 years we were looking for her, and found out she was in Philadelphia, homeless and alone, going from shelter to shelter, crack house to crack house...and it took a lot of prayer, lots of prayer for me to survive that ordeal. DH used to walk the streets of the worst area in Phila on Fri and Sat nights looking for her, and asking dealers, pimps and prostitutes and police if they knew her. I was told to check the morgues in Phila by the Phila detectives...and each time I thought I could not take one more day of the pain of losing my daughter, I would get a glimmer of hope..a momentary phone call from her or someone and then she would disappear again. But the man she married took her in off the streets and sent her home to us...she went through her 3rd rehab, but really wanted to survive this time, to a half way house and then she got married and the rest is a happy story.
I thank God every day for saving her. When she was gone, I used to just pray that God would keep her alive. And my prayer was answered.

So there you have it.

Oh. Susan. I so admire your strength and that of your whole family. What an awful time that must have been for all of you. Unless one has been through it themselves do you realize how painful it is to be helpless to help your own child. I will keep her in my prayers for continued strength to stay clean. and you and your family for continued compassion and love. Thank you for sharing your story. We Susans are a strong breed - yes, indeed.
