You sure can. Dh just loves it.

It calls for a baguette, but I use a vienna bread that we can get at the store and it works just great.

1 Baguette, cut into 1/2 inch thick slices
6 Fresh Plum Tomatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced as finley as possible
3 green onions sliced, (I just use purple onion that I have on hand chopped real small)
2 teaspoons Dried Basil or 2 Tablespoons Fresh Basil
3 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil - Plus more to brush on bread
Generous amount of freshly ground pepper and Salt

Preheat oven to 450. Brush both sides of bread with olive oil. Toast bread until bottoms are light brown. Turn over and continue toasting. Remove from oven when done and cool.

While bread is toasting, cut up the tomatoes into a fine dice. Remove the gloppy inside from them and discard. Put tomatoes in a bowl with onions, garlic, salt, basil and pepper. Stir to combine. Drizzle with the olive oil. Allow to sit for about an hour before serving.

Yummo!

I am going to try your recipe. My daughter makes this with fresh mozzarella cut into little tiny cubes. I tried it, but she didn't give me the exact mesurements, and it didn't taste like hers does. I'll use yours! YUMM

Does any one know were the hook up for the computer is at Board Walk. I know at SSR it is in the bedroom.

Thanks
Flo

P.S. I am tired and I need to go to sleep, but I can't sleep. It is one of those nights. I went to post here and I posted a new thread. So I asked the mods to delete and put error.:rolleyes1

Hello Everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Sounds like everyone was pretty busy.

After just reading through all the posts talking about food, I now need to go grab a snack. I will go get some mixed nuts. I am trying soooo hard to eat healthy foods and not eat junk food. I know it will be harder on vacation but that is how I convince myself now. I just tell myself to save my snacking for vacation. I also need to find time to exercise :yay: but the days are not long enough.

Well, I accomplished quite a bit this weekend. Spent Friday night into Saturday morning searching for material for my paper. Went to bed around 4:30 and then got up in the morning and headed in to the office. No one around and it was nice and quiet. I printed out all the material I found for my paper. Worked on that from about 9:45 - 2:15.

Headed home and then started cleaning. Had the house to myself. Turned up the stereo and got started. Did 4 loads of :laundy:, changed the linens on all the beds, cleaned under frig and stove, scrubbed counters, swept all the floors, cleaned the laundry room and the small bathroom, cleaned the filters and coils on the air cleaner that is connected to the air conditioner/heater unit, and lots more.

Today I went to Walmart to get some things for the trip then came home and picked out and washed most of the kids clothes for the trip. Ironed all the clothes and put the outfits together. I , like Mary, use the Ziploc bags to pack outfits. It is great!!!

So, most of the kids clothes are packed and ready to go. DD packed all the bags in our new rolling duffle bag. We still need to get our regular suitcase down but for now they are at least not all piled up all over the floor.

Once that was done, DD and I got all the FE kids bags out that I had already done and we worked on those. Pretty much went back through them and redid them. So, we are officially done the kids FE bags. Yikes! The storage box is packed to the top. It might cost me a fortune to ship this stuff. I have to think about this. Let's see..if we use 2 suitcases for our things and then a 3rd one for this stuff it will cost me $15 to check the 3rd bag. So, when all is said and done if shipping is under $15 then that would make sense to ship. Can you tell I am tired....I am rambling on and on.

I did buy the Purex sheets. Have not tried them though.

I found the lip balm with SPF 45. Thanks for that tip Mary. I would not have thought of it.

Sorry that I missed the sail away party today. I wish I had remembered because DD and I were in my bedroom working on all this stuff and it would have been fun to show her the boat. Darn. Maybe next week.

Well, I have to get to bed. Meetings with the auditors all week. :scared1: No, it's not too bad actually. And, no need for the mixed nuts now. The hunger pains passed...well, sort of passed.

Have a great Monday. Hope all those that were not feeling are better on Monday.

:flower3:Lisa

Good Monday morning everyone!

Would you believe we were invited to a last minute pool party again??? Another one of my aunt called right before lunch yesterday to go to her house for a bit of time in the pool & a bbq..we had a great time!
The kids and I both thought about the fact that we were missing seeing the boat again! At least it's only 4 weeks away now!
We'll try to watch the webcams next sunday again :)

Have a great week everyone :cool2:

Alex.

I feel like I must be the only one that isn't packed yet! :rotfl:

We need our summer clothes still...so the packing won't happen until just a few days before the trip. We are driving down but we'll still be packing light, I figured that I can do a couple of loads of laundry at Vero Beach after the cruise. :laundy:

Good morning everyone - happy Monday!

Off to work soon after sleeping in a bit and waking up to a nasty storm.

Flo - we've always had the connection in the living room while at Boardwalk.

Don't feel that way Alex, as I have said before I am a well known late packer. After following along on this thread it does seem like everyone is packed and ready though. I feel i should at least pull out a suitcase to fit in...LOL

Good Morning Everyone.

Getting ready to go to work. I wish I had another day off. It was a very nice weekend and now I could use a day of rest.

Alex and Dave - don't worry I'm not packed either. My DH is, but no, not me. I don't pack until the week we leave. Mainly because I'm still wearing the shorts outfits I will be taking with me so I can't pack them.

I hope all that try my bruschetta recipe enjoy it. It really is yummy.

Have a great day! :flower3:

Morning!

Mary - Thank you so much for the info. Makes me happy.:)

Alex and Dave - I may have the suitcare out but by far I am not packed. I won't have all of it done till maybe the day before I have always been like that. The only thing I have ready is the Fish Extender gifts to be sent to the ship.

Lisa - Sound like you had a busy weekend. But also that you got allot done. GOod for you.:thumbsup2

Take care

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I can't believe I missed it again. Brain dead? Oh, yes, guilty as charged!

Actually I got waylaid by a daughter in need, but I'm sooooo sorry I missed it! And I was looking forward to talking w/everyone as we watched the ship leave.

Congrats to Chris on the :bride:, and as for Flo, she is the pirate queen, hoorah for the pirate queen (if you've ever seen Pirates of Penzance, you'll know the reference).

Flo, Marsha, Sue, Chris, thanks for noticing. I'm really going to try hard to be here next week :sad1: .

Joanne - you were missed but hopefully everything is ok with your daughter. I can understand get waylaid by the kids. And thanks for the congrats. :flower3:

Oh, no, you're not alone. I've been collecting things to go, but I'm nowhere near done.

Happy monday!

We had some nasty storms here last night, and my two year old woke up and came into my room to snuggle with me... so needless to say, I did not sleep well after that... I'm a tosser/turner while sleeping and that is hard to do with a kid attached to you!! :rotfl2:

I have out the suitcase, and I have filled the shampoo bottles, but that is about it. I have done a ton of laundry though, so once I deciede to actaully bring it upstairs I could probably pack. I think today, I'd rather sleep!!

Have a great day! I will talk to you soon!!

We are far from packed. We have been accumulating small things on the dining room table so they aren't forgotten. I still have to finish up the spreadsheet of what we are bringing and then we'll do laundry and dry cleaning as needed.

Our plan is to be packed by the 6th, we will load the car up the evening of the 9th and hit the road on the 10th.

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

Glad to see I am not alone! Thanks everyone!
I have to learn how to do the multiple quote thing...:confused3

Mary, you are driving down too! From Chicago right?? How long does it take you?
For us, I think it's about 20 hours. We'll doing it in 2 and half days..nice and slow on the way there, then much more "intense" on the way home :rotfl:

Alex.

Sneaking a quick break at work. Needed to stop thinking about this audit stuff for a few minutes.

Hopefully I will not get busted for being on here.

You know when I started typing out all the things that I did this weekend I thought to myself...no wonder I am so tired. :lmao:

But, I am sorry to report that when I woke up this morning and looked around the house at all the stuff I cleaned - at least the noticable things. It was no longer clean. And, my bedroom looks like a hurricane hit it. Boxes and bags of FE stuff everywhere. Clothes, toiletries, shoes, and all sorts of things for the trip everywhere. The ironing board is still up and piled high with all sorts of things. The laundry room is piled high with the kids clothes and wet towels from their trip to Rehoboth this weekend. I had a headache :headache: when I went to work today.

Does anyone else have this problem.....you work so hard but never seem to get ahead. :sad2:

And just for the record....I do not have any clothes packed for myself yet. I am not even sure what I will be able to bring. I have been working on a 'life style' change and have lost a little bit of weight...about 20 pounds since I started earlier in the year. :cool1: But I still have a ways to go. So, I am hoping I will be able to pull out a smaller size. :worship: If I could just get that :yay: exercise in my schedule.

On a sad note, my Fish Extender that my mother was going to make is not going to make it for this cruise. I bought the material and we planned it all out and I even got my part completed but my mother has not been well this past month with serious back and hip problems. She has been bed ridden quite a bit. I told her to not even worry about the FE. I hate to go buy one online since I spent all that money on the material. Worst case is I just hang a bag up. Maybe I will let the kids decorate something. I am really not going to worry about it at this point. Something quick and easy.

My parents are supposed to be joining us in WDW after the cruise...surprise to the kids. Not sure if that will change at this point.

Okay, I really better log off this site. Chat with you all later.
