Congrats
Tanya (Dave) on the :bride:
and
Flo on the pirate:

Congrats Flo on the pirate:!!!! Way to go.

Congrats to Dave on the :bride: too!

Would have been here but my Dad stopped by for a visit. I'm really glad that him and mom just live in front of me now. It used to be my DMIL and DFIL but when DFIL passed away DMIL wanted to sell and my parents bought! What a win-win situation. Actually it was me and DH and my parents who bought out my MIL. So we own half. But still, my parents live there during the summer and they pull their camper to Texas for the winter. And I am really glad for that.

Thank You Chris. How awesome to be that close to your parents. My parents actally live just outside Orlando, so unless we are heading to Disney or they come up for a visit, we don't see them much.

Oh, and for a supper update, I made homemade chicken pot pie. Yummmmm. Since it was chilly out today that sounded good. We should still be grilling, not making fall type suppers! :confused3 This crazy weather.

That sounds good, I actually thought of making it, but it takes too long for a school night.

Your welcome Dave. And yes it is awesome to be so close. With your parents outside of Orlando are you able to visit often? And if so, how far from Disney are they?

Well, I have to confess, my oldest DD had the filling all made by the time I got home so all I had to do was make the pie crust, fill and then bake. So it was a big help to me. But we still didn't eat until 7:00. Kinda usual for us though at this time of year. Sports practices and all.

Not really, they are only 20 minutes from Disney, but we don't make it there often enough. Like this trip we land around 11pm Fri. and we are heading over to our hotel near Port, so we won't see them at all. They will come over to the Park for Christmas with the kids so that will be nice.

We didn't end up eating until 7:45 tonight which is way later than normal. I like to have everything cleaned up by 7:30

Has anyone thought about doing, or done, the Enjoy Magic Kingdom® Fireworks Dessert Party?

It sounds really interesting and fun. Plus a place to watch the fireworks.

Hi Chris. Its so nice your parents are right there. I just have my mom now, and I sometimes complain that she is 35 minutes away, but then thats alot closer than some have it.

Dinner sounds really tasty!! ;)

Too bad you won't see them this trip, but you will more than make up for it at Christmas, I'm sure!!!!!!! We would love to do Disney at Christmas. We are hoping for maybe 2010????? I will be interested to see how your time goes this year. Crowds, wait times and such.

Thanks Sue! I know for the last several years they would just stay at the campground that is like 8 minutes from our house and it was like we saw them once a month. Now we see them 2-3 times a week. Much better for me. :flower3:

I would have loved to try this but I think its over now.

I have heard it is crazy crowded and that if you plan on going to MK Christmas Day, you must be there by 8am or you will never make it in. I am not really a big crowd person, so it should be interesting:laughing:

We've been there the week before, to see all of the decorations and such, but have never been there on Christmas Day. We loved seeing the parks and resorts all dressed up and decorated. We spent one whole day just going from hotel to hotel to see the gingerbread houses and stuff.

Dave, make sure that you buy the kids a gingerbread "shingle" from the giant gingerbread house. They are delicious!! :yay:

Where do you buy them?

Where do you buy them?

The largest display of a gingerbread house is always at the Grand Floridian in their lobby. They have a little "shop" right there and you can buy goodies, including small gingerbread houses. Then there will be other gingerbread displays, one usually at Boardwalk and the other at Yacht and Beach. One time they made a carousel completely out of chocolate and gingerbread.

If I can find one of my photos, I'll post it.
