is anyone doing anythng good for the weekend

I'm not doing too much this weekend. I did have lunch with some friends that I used to work with today. Then on Sunday I will go down to visit my Mom and then hopefully stop at Sandi's house so that we can try to figure out where we want to stop for a sightseeing day on our drive back home from the cruise.

Well just got home from the Muny, we took DGD 5 with us, they had a rock band in the park before the play, DGD had a really good time, dancing to the music. She seemed like the only one in the beginning, so much that when they finished there 5th song. They made mention of her and thanked her for enjoying there music. They continued for about the next 45 min, and then invited people to come up front and dance. Well DGD decided that invtation was just for her, so she ran up and jumped on the stage, to the suprise of the band. They just smiled and keep playing, and the one guy playing the guitar appeared to be playing just for her.it was one of those things, you just had to be there. She had a great time!

Dianne, that is so sweet. We had a similar experience w/our DGD who was 3-4 at the time. She just loved Off Kilter and they were tickled w/her dancing too (she danced alone for quite a while as well). They are so cute at that age; no self-consciousness at all.

No big plans for us. Just going to hang around the house doing the usual weekend chores and working on getting ready for the cruise.

We may take in a movie tomorrow. Other than that we are going to relax.

We are not doing too much this weekend, but I finally got my backup downloaded from Carbonite, so I think I need to go through my computer files and get rid of any duplictes.

We might be going to the movies tonight....not sure what we are going to see.

Not a whole lot of plans here, except a b-day party for my nephew at the bay, and I trying to convince Barb to go see GI Joe with me, but she just won't have it.

But just got a message from DBFF and she's on her way over to finish organizing the things we've both picked up and to finalize our idea for the FE itself.

We also have to decide which of the designs we want to use as door magnets. Question: are you allowed to use tape or such on the doors?

They do not allow tape on the doors. You can print the design on the magnet paper. Or, you can print it out on regular paper and attach magnets to the back. If you use regular paper, you should laminate it before applying the magnets.

Mine are also done and packed in the box ready to ship to DCL. I put a few other things in there to.

It is such a good feeling to have them done.

I can't believe how close it is getting so fast. It seams like we just booked it.

We're trying to get our 2 year old used to taking pictures with characters before the cruise, so we made a trip over to DHS this morning. The whole trip there he was excited about about seeing Mickey and giving him a kiss and hug. Then we got there and once he saw Mickey, he decided he wasn't interested, but he saw Doug (the dog from Up) and wanted to go hug and pet him. So we stood in line for 20 minutes to see Doug and as soon as we walked up to him, our son started crying. Needless to say the trip was not successful.

We're staying at BLT next weekend so hopefully we'll have better luck. Any ideas would be appreciated. He likes to watch from a distance, but won't get within 5 feet without crying.

The only advice I have is be sure to show him that the characters are ok by you giving them a big hug. But with him only being two, it is scary for them. I'm afraid it may be either no pictures at all or you will be in a lot of pictures between him and the character this time around with him. Good luck!

I have sooooo many pictures of my youngest trying to escape from seeing the characters that I could do an entire album. As a matter of fact, one particular favorite of mine is hanging on the frig - it is of my middle son holding the little one, and the little one practically climbing OVER his brother to get away from Tigger!

He was afraid for a while but suddenly, we were at a character dinner, and he started to hug Mickey. That was it - from that day on, he was fine. I don't know what really made him feel okay - he just did on his own!

The Doorway to Dreams event is not till Next Sunday August 16th. If you go this week no one will be there. I went back to make sure it did not change. See you on the 16th.

Glad you got the things to make your Fish Extender. That is exciting.
