I love were I live. They have the fire works display at the park. We are only about 2 block away. We could sit on chairs on the sidewalk and avoid the crouds. So that is what we did and they were beautiful.

Take care

That's great! DD took DGS who is 2 to fireworks, well not into the park, but nearby where they could see them easily, and I thought he would freak at the noise...nope..WOW, WOW, WOW...his favorite word..he loved them. So maybe he will be ok at Wishes in December. It is so beautiful here in PA...no air conditioner, no humidity, nice breeze coming in the windows...so peaceful.

You know how when a door closes, God opens a window? Well, I had contacted one of my girlfriends from high school...class of 1968, who moved right after HS and lives in the midwest...on facebook and told her about our friend's husband and now we have re-established our friendship after all these years. It is so wonderful...we just picked up where we left off...we know each other so well and that is comforting. Just love that girl!

Good morning Member Cruisers!
We sail in 10 weeks!

A picture for today from the 2007 cruise:

Good morning everyone. I hope your 4th of July was safe and happy.

How great Flo, to be able to walk out your door and watch the fire works! We were lazy and chose to watch the New York fire works (Macy's) display on TV. WOW! I could almost smell the smoke!

Speaking about scents, I love the smell of the ocean, that somewhat musty, salty, warm, sandy smell. Have you ever had a balcony stateroom and kept the door open all night?

I do love the Basin also! But, my DH won't go in, to overwhelming for him, thats good though, because I can go in and touch and smell it all to my hearts content.:rotfl:

Mary,

Thanks for the count down clock!;) WHen I get up on a Sunday morning I can't wait to turn my laptop on and see how many weeks till we will be on the

Good Morning Everyone!

It is a beautiful morning here.

Susan and Ravonne: Yes, it is nice to walk out the door and watch. The only bad thing yesterday is the guy behind me decided to blow off a display of them at about 11:00 clock. Oh well it is only once a year.

Ravonne - No we have never slept with the door open. BUt we have always gone durring the summer so it was always to warm.

Susan - Glad you conected with a long lost friend. That is always nice.

Good Sunday Morning.

It is finally going to be nice here today. We have had cold, rainy weather here the last two days. Yesterdays high was 68! :scared1: We had a great party on Friday though. It stopped raining long enough for the fireworks to go off and they were great!

Flo - glad you enjoyed the fireworks without having to go far.

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: 10 Weeks :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

That looks so good.

Thanks for the photo Mary. I can't wait till we retake the island! :lmao:

Breaking News: Deadly Disney World Monorail Crash

POSTED: Sunday, July 5, 2009

At 2am Sunday morning, Reedy Creek Emergency Services responded to a call at the Ticket and Transportation Center at the Magic Kingdom. Two monorails collided. 8 people were evaluated total following the crash. One monorail driver was killed. The other driver is fine physically. There were 5 to 6 guests on the monorail at the time of the crash. Disney World Public Relations tells Local 6 that they will release more information later this morning. They are on scene right now gathering information about the incident.

A witness tells Local 6 that he heard a huge crashing noise when the monorails collided. He was able to get pictures and video of frazzled guests walking off the train.

Another report indicates that a moving pink train hit a stationary purple train.

Local 6 has obtained dramatic pictures from the scene of the crash. Stay with Local 6 for more information about this crash.

Found this on the disscussion part. My heart goes out to the family and friends and prayers to.

Oh, this is just so sad and must have been very frightening for the small group on board. Thank heaven it happened at a time when not many riders were aboard. There is a picture of the damage also at http://www.cnn.com/2009/US/07/05/u.s.disney.monorail/

Thanks Flo for letting us know about this.

I was schocked when I saw the picture on CNN. They don't go that fast coming into a stop, so I could not believe the damage. I am happy the people that were on there are ok. Not that they will not remember this for the rest of there lives.

I also thought they were equiped with a divice that stops this from happening?

I found the following statement,

When the train detects there are fewer than two holdpoints between itself and the preceding train, the emergency brakes are immediately applied and cannot be released until sufficient spacing becomes available, or the operator explicitly overrides the system.

Flo,

Off of the sad note, are you finally getting better weather (less rain) and drying out?

Ravonne

Ravonne,

I agree.

Yes we are gettng better weather. Thanks for asking.

Yesterday I was beginning to think that we were not going to have the fire works display. It rained on and off most of the day, then the sun lite up the sky and it turned out to be a nice evening. It is in the 70's here right now and not humid with is a good think.

How is it by you.

Rain off and on, but it's Florida. Hot and humid, but I often see that it is hotter and more humid up north:lmao:

I live near the ocean, here is a link to the beach I go to; http://evsjupiter.netfirms.com/main.htm

I enjoy the beach but between work and home, I don't go nearly enough.

But that makes vacation even sweeter. I loved Mary's picture of Castaway Cay. I can't think of a better island to be on. Wouldn't it be great to stay overnight there?

Ravonne,

That beach is beautiful. Oh how I would like to be there now.

In the future (about5 years) we will be living in FL to. That is were we want to retire.

There is a crew that stays there but I do remember reading that the bugs are so bad at night that you can't stay out on the island. I bet that is why the ships don't stay docked there at night.

Question of the day:

What would you like to see on the new ships that the Magic or Wonder do not currently have?
