Is their a bus or other transportation other then the cruise buses that is being arranged

The cabins were great. Very rustic. Roomy. Well stocked. We were in the 2700 loop so very close to the front.

Every cabin has a big porch with a picnic table and grill. Sadly, no fire rings throughout the entire campground (I totally understand why) so pie mold making is going to be tricky down here.

You enter the cabin in the kitchen/dining room area. When we first got there, the door under the sink was busted off. We were busy and didn't have a chance to tell anyone about it, but they must have known b/c someone came to fix it. :) Housekeeping does your dishes every day. That's kinda sad b/c one day they ran the dishwasher for two glasses and a bowl.

Then to the right is the living room area. Very comfy and nice. See that big wall with the quilt hanging on it? Two things.....that's a murphy bed! And secondly, they bolt that quilt to that wall pretty darn good. I know, b/c I wanted it for my own house and I checked. (Just kidding. I'd never have stolen it, but it was cute and some of the fabric had hidden mickeys on it. They should sell that kinda stuff in their gift shops. I'd rather have that then another t-shirt!)

The bathroom was nice. Very roomy. All 4 of us could be in there brushing our teeth at the same time. The shower got used ONCE all week. By NICK! The rest of us jumped in the shower when we came home to feed the cat. :)

IMG_5827.jpg

The bedroom was a bit cramped. And not a lot of big drawer space. We ended up living out of our suitcase. Which isn't a big deal for us b/c we didn't have that much. :) The bed is a full sized which is a little tight for us. After a couple of nights, Mike ended up sleeping on the murphy bed and I slept in the bedroom. Yeah, kinda weird, but we needed sleep. :) Kids slept in the bunk beds and loved it. :) Very comfy beds for sure.

All in all it was a great vacation. Not DVC, but much better than a straight hotel room. The campground was amazingly quiet. I've been to some where there is craziness and partying well into the night. Very peaceful and beautiful there. Our Sunday check in through Friday check out in May was 170 points.

The only thing missing from the vacation was Mark and Mary..... but we'll catch up with you in September. :)

Karen,

Thanks for posting the pictures. I always woundered what the insdie looked like. Also, I am sure you did miss them. I could understand that.

take care

not sure I have a favorite ride but just returned from dw and the podcast cruise and so looking forward to the members cruise.

That must have been wonderful!! Are you doing a trip report? I listened to the Pod Cast and it was really entertaining. I signed up to go on the next one. I am so addicted to the pod casts...My temporary reassignment requires a one hour drive each way, and I plan on listening to the achives that I still haven't gotten to...will make the time go by pleasantly.
Susan

Their are trip reports out that and other then saying it was a wonderful time i had not thought about doing a trip report.

Karen - thanks for the reports on the cabins. Too bad about the fire rings. If we had been there I would have loved to try the pie molds your dad sells.

Gary - thanks as always for keeping us up to date on the :bride: and pirate: count!

mnra - Annmarie was working on a bus (see the first post for details). I know she hasn't been on very much lately as life is a little crazy for her right now. Not sure if she has enough people to make it worthwhile. I know we backed out as we'll be driving down and just want to get in the car and head back to the resort as soon as the cruise is over.

Sounds like a a busy 2 days for you. But I am sure this confrence will be interesting for you.

Have a safe trip.

The conference was very informative. The drive getting into DC was not bad. The drive coming home was a different story.

If you are not coming in on the day of the cruise, how are you getting to Port?

Thanks
Flo
:surfweb:

Since we are driving to FL and staing at the BCV we will be driving to the port.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

On the news this morning, I heard that Disney was planning a hotel resort in the DC Metro area (specifically the National Harbor in MD). It did not mention DVC but I automatically assumed that it would have a DVC component. Has anyone else heard anymore info?

Robbie - sounds like a great plan! I hope someday to get to Colonial Williamsburg.

If you ever get the chance definitely visit Colonial Williamsburg. This will be my third trip in the last 15 years or so.

Hey, everyone!
I'm back.
Had a very interesting "vacation" at WDW. Missed Mark and Mary to pieces. We (kids and I) checked in Sunday night. I picked up Mike after he got off work at 11p. Monday we went to Jetty Park (gaRry Park) to watch the launch, then caught the Star Trek movie. Tuesday we spent the day at Aquatica. Wednesday we hung out (kids did some school), went to Sea World, and then took KT to her youth group. Thursday we did Busch Gardens. Friday we checked out of the cabins, went to see Star Trek on IMAX, and then went to Disney Quest.

Came home nearly daily to take care of the cat and shower. Also had to watch Survivor Thursday night we could see it on the DVR.

Never stepped foot in a Disney park!

Weird, weird "Disney vacation" for us.

No way I'll catch up with the 20 some pages since I've been gone! Hope I didn't miss anything too important. :)

Welcome back!

favorite rides change with me depending on my mood, however, I ALWAYS go on Pirates everytime I'm in Disneyland.

As far as before the cruise, we are arriving saturday afternoon (5 pm) and staying at AKL-Kidani, Then taking DCL bus to the port.

It seems everyone will be spread around at the resorts.

Good morning everyone! Happy Wednesday!

Ray - you are right I think we are spread out all over WDW and some at the port as well. We've done both and they both work. Oh and we can't forget those lucky ones who live down there and can spend the night before at home.

Have a great day everyone!

Member Gallery Update!

Cruise buddies Karen & Mary have sent their info in for the gallery. These good friends have sailed on many a Disney Cruise and have joined us on past Member Cruises.

Stop by the gallery to meet Karen (aka KarenNY) and Mary (Iluvdisney)

Thank you Mary for keeping the members gallery up to date.

Good Wednesday Morning!

Karen - sounds like you had a nice vacation. The pictures are nice to see the inside of the cabins and all. I totally understand about the full size bed though, too small for us! Too bad you couldn't make a fire, but it is totally understandable in Florida. We used pie irons when I was a kid to make all kinds of stuff, pizza, reubens, fruit pies, etc. Thanks for sharing with us.

Here is a question for the day:

Who is your favorite Disney Character?

Mine is a toss up between Snow White and Belle.

When I was little I always wanted to be Snow White at Disney. How cool would that have been!

Have a great day! :flower3:

Here is a question for the day:

Who is your favorite Disney Character?

Good question Chris! My favorite is Dumbo. It wouldn't be a trip to WDW without stopping by and visiting the Dumbo statue in the hub at the Magic Kingdom. In fact I love Dumbo so much that Mark bought me a Disneyland Dumbo Big Fig a few years ago. :)

I also have Dumbo on two of my tea mugs at home. One was a very special gift that always brings me joy and the other I use when the first is in the dishwasher.

Mine is a toss between Goofey and Pluto!

Eeyore.

I like them all! Can't decide.:scared1:
