I WAS USING MY UNDERWATER CAMERA WHILE LAURA AND I WERE FOLLOWING THESE 2 RAYS, ABOUT 20 to 100 feet FROM SHORE. WE WALKED WITH THEM AT ONE POINT 1 WAS ALMOST LAYING ON MY FOOT. THE NEXT PHOTO IS INTERESTING. ITS IN ABOUT 4 FEET OF WATER WHILE WE WERE FOLLOWING THE RAYS. I WOULD HOLD CAMERA UNDERWATER AND SHOOT. THIS GUY MUST HAVE GONE BETWEEN LAURA AND I BECAUSE AS I WAS CLICKING THE NEXT PHOTO IS OF LAURA FROM UNDERWATER. :banana:COOL GLAD I BROUGHT UNDERWATER CAMERA:cool1:

Ok Shawn and I have been talking about this whole cruise thing. While we really like cruising and we really like our DVC ownership, we are just thinking that we can do better by just doing a normal 4 night cruise on either side of the SS Member cruise. The gifts we are getting and the guests on board are just not worth the additional costs.

What does everyone else think? We are thinking of doing something else around that time anyone else have any thoughts on it? :confused3

I'm waiting.... ever so patiently .....

I want to see the gifts you all got this year !!! Oh, and the rest of the pics.....

We agree. We are seriously thinking about skipping next year's members cruise. It was just not as special as previous ones. We too love our DVC membership, and we love to stay at the many resorts at WDW, so using our points to cruise is a no go and we pay cash. And we love to go down in the fall, Sept/Oct time. For us if we can get the MNSSHP and Food and Wine Fest in all at the same time, it is a win win for us!:flower3:

Oh, and I think that for first timers going on a Members Cruise it is great. Because they have never experienced it and don't have as high of expectations as say we do, that they will love it. But for us who have sailed on the MC before and see everything going down hill, it is a bummer. :confused3

Hi everybody!

Some bad news...apparently when we downloaded pictures from the camera to the lap top a whole bunch of them simply disappeared! They are not on the lap top and not on the camera :sad1: If anyone is willing and able to send me pictures they might have us in, I would really appreciate it! :worship::worship::worship: The pictures of my door and fish extender are missing. I saw that Ian had a picture of the doors. Ian if you could send me the picture of our door that would be awesome! I lost the picture of our group photo in the Dismeet and the Pirate Night group picture...sigh. All of the sailway party pictures are gone. Most of pirate night etc and I have practically nothing of Wally and I together. If anyone is willing and able please send them to my e-mail address at terridiz@bellsouth.net Don't worry about re-sizing or anything I can get big files.

Wally and I are still playing catch up here at home. We really loved meeting all of you! He is now actually checking the thread from time to time and lurking! I am glad this was our first member cruise since we had nothing to compare it to and some are saying it wasn't as special as before :confused3 We are definitely going next year, assuming we get in. Yeah, it is pricey but we had such a blast we are hoping to relive it all! We are planning to use our Disney Visa reward points to pay for it though  so that makes it less painful. We are going with Shawn and Milford in May on The Dream too and are very excited about that :cool1:

Again any pictures anyone sends it GREATLY appreciated!!!!!!!!! Miss you guys already! :grouphug:

Terrie :)

First let me say my DW and I had a very nice relaxing time on the members cruise. For those that we met it was great meeting and talking with all the DVC members and those on the DIS boards. Bill from Indianapolis thank you so much for including us at lunch on the 12th. We were in awe of the ship (first cruise) and it was nice to sit and talk and get first hand knowledge of the ship. I hope memaw (sp) had a great time as well. I will say that the cruise seemed anti climatic as listening to all the posts about past cruises we were super excited about that gifts and general excitement of the cruise but were disappointed. The entertainment was wonderful and we loved Castaway Cay! Secretriat was also wonderful. I was SUPER disappointed that there was not any merchandise to buy that indicated the members cruise. Other than the pins it was a disappointment. I am a t-shirt collector and seeing the past years t-shirts and poloshirts and not having the opportunity to get my fix was upsetting. The response from the gift shops was sorry we did not do that this year because it was not cost effective last year. While we were not looking to add points (can't afford it) I was disappointed to get an email yesterday from DVC with the same deal that was on the ship. 114 for Hawaii. :confused3 I know you got a print and there were some gift cards but.....

On a positive note I can't remember a more relaxing vacation. I fell asleep several times on the navigators verandah as it was so peacefull. Sitting in the water with the fish and sting rays at my feet was relaxing as well. We will definately cruise again but doubt we will do the members cruise. It is more cost effective to do another cruise as you will get more for your money. We will take our kids next time as well so that takes us out of the picture for the members cruise. I did enjoy all the stories and our dinner mates were very nice people. We were also super excited about the fireworks at sea and they did not disappoint! Thanks again for all of everyone help! We had a great time!

HI , IT WAS OUR 4th CRUISE, WE FIND WE HAVE MORE FUN BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF YOU GO ON THE CRUISE, NOT AS MUCH ABOUT THE DVC PART OF IT. YOUR RIGHT ABOUT THE MERCHANDISE. IM A SHIRT COLLECTER TOO, OUR FIRST MEMBER CRUISE WAS THE LEGENDS CRUISE, THEY HAD NICE DARK BLUE GOLF SHIRTS WITH THE CRUISE NAME EMBROIDERED ON THE FRONT. I BOUGHT 2 , THEY RAN OUT OF MY SIZE. THE NEXT YEAR IT WAS A PALE BLUE BUTTON UP SHIRT WIRH A PALE MICKEY IN THE PATTERN. LAST YEAR IT WAS A T SHIRT. MAYBE THATS WHY THEY DIDNT SELL WELL. ON THIS CRUISE NOTHING, I COMPLAINED TO A COUPLE REPS ABOUT LACK OF SHIRTS TO BUY. THEY TOLD ME THEY WERE HEARING OTHER COMPLAINTS. I MENTIONED IT BACK AT WDW TO REPS AT BLT. SAME THING, THEY HAD HEARD AND MADE NOTE OF IT. I TOLD THEM THAT IF YOU CUT BACK PEOPLE ARE GOING TO START SEEING THIS AS JUST A GLITZY WAY OF TRYING TO SELL MORE POINTS TO A CAPTIVE AUDIENCE IN THE THEATRE WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR PRESENTATION ABOUT HAWAII ETC. IM SURE THEY ENJOY WHEN MORE NEWBIES TAKE THE CRUISE, IM SURE THE POINT SALES GO UP. AFTER SAYING ALL THAT WE STILL LOVE THE CRUISE AND ALL THE FRIENDLY GUESTS ON BOARD.:cool1:

Hi...it has taken me a bit of time to get back in the non-vacation mode. We are still unpacking the stuff we bought.

Just wanted to say..we had an absolutely great time on the cruise. Castaway Cay was fabulous.

We enjoyed meeting everyone and putting a face to the "disboard name".

I am now going to start reading the posts that were done after sep 10th.

looking forward to seeing all the pictures.
