Last day at the world sigh

Us too.... have to get on ME at 5:55 AM tomorrow!!!

John and I have decided that from now on we will do cruise seperate from WDW - we were SOOOO relaxed and it was such a different vacation from WDW - we still LOVE WDW - but DCL is definately a much more relaxing time - 7 day cruise????!!!!

All of you that are traveling back home, have a safe trip. I love WDW, trying to see when I can head back to Orlando. Not sure if I will be able to make the trip next year. I love being a teacher, but taking off 3 weeks into the school year doesn't sit well with the boss. Do you think Mickey can write me a note?

Hi guys!!! We got back home in Indiana a few hours ago. I started unpacking and had to take a break to get my DIS fix.

DH & I both agree that this was our absolute BEST vacation EVER! I enjoyed meeting all of you. This was our 7th cruise and we've never had such a great time. And I'm talking about the new friends that we made. DCL wasn't providing the top notch service that we've been used to on previous cruises, but knowing so many other cruisers on a first name basis from getting to know you all on this thread...that made it so nice! And we have to thank Mother Nature for giving us the calmest water we've ever sailed on! WOW!

At the first night at dinner, we felt like we were old friends with Christine/Eric, Terrie/Wally & Shawn/Milford and let's not forget Ian/Laura even though they were at the rowdy table We definitely want to stay in touch with all of you and maybe some day we can all do WDW and/or DCL again together!!!

The Fish Extender gifts were all soooo nice! Everyone had such cute ideas. It was fun looking at all the FE's and the magnets on the doors. My kids are excited because we're sharing the candy with them!

I need to say thank you to quite a few people:

I owe many many thanks to Chris & her family for sharing their extra little suitcases DVC gave on the first night.

Thank you to Milford & Shawn AND to Ian & Laura for the B-day cards.

Thank you to Vicki for the Seahorse necklace....you really didn't need to do that!

You were all such a great group to chat with on this thread and it was such a pleasure to meet each of you! It was fun running into some of you at WDW after the cruise, too!! (Monika - I hope you guys enjoyed the segway tour and that your legs weren't as sore as ours afterwards! )

I hope we can all keep in touch. Maybe we can just keep this thread going (or start a new thread) and just "stop by that thread" from time to time to say "HI".

We booked a cruise for October 2011 while we were on the ship, so unfortunately we don't think we'll be able to do the SSMember Cruise 2011.

Well we are packing up the room from the BLT to start the trek back home to Indiana.

Went to the MNSSHP last evening, holy cow, it was packed, more people there then we have ever seen at a Holloween Party in September.

I wanna go back!!!! Home is so depressing after that wonderful vacation! We're already planning our spring break trip to WDW but I'm actually kind of sad that it won't be with this group of DVCers. So, if anyone wants to join us March 26-April 2, 2011, we'll be staying at AKL.

I'm trying to get all my pictures uploaded to Photobucket, so hopefully I'll have some pics posted later today.

We picked up our fur baby and are at home now - it is such a let down to be at home!!

We have been talking about the cruise non-stop - Debbie I laughed when you said that the service wasn't up to par - of course as first time cruisers we thought is was phenominal!!! I agree meeting everyone was fun!!!

I have to unpack now - back to work in the AM....!!!!

Yes, normally DCL service is phenominal, but this time we just weren't feeling the love. After 7 cruises, I guess that's bound to happen sooner or later! lol I'm glad you guys had better service than we did. I can't believe how smooth the water was! THAT was the smoothest water we've ever sailed on!

Well, try not to get too depressed as you unpack. I go back to work tomorrow morning, too. BUT...we need that job so we can keep going back to Disney! haha!!

Right you are - no work - no DISNEY!!! And there is no reason for anything if I don't have Disney to look forward to!!!! I am unpacked and now ready to plan our April vacation - we will be there 16th-24th - actually talked about changing it to a cruise - BUT we had just bought our APs and that would be such a waste!!

Did anyone look at the prices for next years SS MEMBER Cruise? I compared it with the prices for the 4 day cruise the week before and I can cruise for like $1000 cheaper and afford a better room. What the heck, I am thinking the DVC cruise was not worth that kind of money since we want to bring some friends along.

Just curious as to everones views on this.

Got home a couple of hours ago and trying to get things caught up around here. Had troubles in Chicago getting home because we had no pilot! They got us all on the plane and then off again until they could find us a pilot to get in to Des Moines. Crazy. So we have been up since 4:00 am cst, and I'm tired.

Had fun at the Halloween party last night. Loved the parade and fireworks. Will try to catch up tomorrow.

I hadn't looked since I know we won't be going on the member cruise next year. So why don't you guys book the October 20th cruise with us!!!! (But we MIGHT have to change it when we get next school year's calendar)

OH NO! Sorry to hear about your troubles in Chicago! Southwest was having problems yesterday at the Orlando airport and the flight before ours was late departing which made ours a little late departing, but only about 10-15 minutes.

WE HAD A GREAT TIME, ENJOYED MEETING ALL OF YOU ON THE SHIP. I THINK WHAT MAKES THE CRUISE FUN IS NOT JUST DVC BUT ALL OF YOU WHO WERE ON BOARD!!

I hope some of you got to meet our friend DAVE Im driving to their home near BOSTON for call in. Thats a 7 hour drive from Niagara on the Lake. When i get a chance I will Transfer some photos to Photobucket then post some on here. It will be fun to see other Photos from fellow CRUISERS
I know i did lots of walking ive got blisters on blisters on one of my feet(shouldnt wear new shoes) and my knees are killing me. But being at DISNEY gave me the will power to keep going

We had so much FUN on our cruise!

We are so spoiled however and are used to a 7 day, that a 4 day was just so sad to get off the ship!

The FE gifts were AWESOME - we didnt have to take DD shopping because she got so many fabulous things!

I do have to say, i left the letters that were supposed to go with my FE at home - what i gave was a 3 part hanging picture frame, you can slide 4.6 photos in the cut outs - both sides should be open to allow it. Also bookmarks, because reading is fun! and poker chips because we are from Vegas! Lizzy also put stickers in with the kids pockets - she loves stickers and thinks everyone needs some!

the gifts we got again were AMAZING - you guys really out did yourself! thanks again!


Now a little negative - i dont think we will be doing another member cruise - i was sorta disappointed in the "stuff" the food was good, but the same as a normal cruise, and i think the gifts were just not what the Hype for them was - I was so not impressed with the RCI stuff, it was like a wasted day of gifts. I guess i am greedy, but we booked the member cruise thinking we would get Disney trinkets and stuff from the source - good thing we love cruising tho!

HUbby was sad - he looked high and low for a member cruise 2010 shirt and couldnt find one - poor him.

Ducky was awesome - we saw him when we drew with him as well as one of his presentations - we sure enjoyed him!

I didnt get to do near as much as i would like - sorry i never made it to a meet up - i really wanted to tho!!

Wehad a great time - yoiu guys were so fun and fantastic! Lizzy loved the member cruise because she got the royal treatment in the kids clubs! they said normally there are about 1100 kids registered, and this time there were about 220 registered - so she really got treated well and doted on by the cast members and REALLY loved it!

we have already started preps for our next cruise - Jan 23 Mexican Riviera - fun fun fun!!!

Dang it was so difficult to go back to work today! And then, of course, it was a REALLY BAD DAY at work! I guess I can say this since it's already hit the news in Michigan. The president of our bank is missing. So, I'm not really sure what's going on, but the FBI was at our corporate office today. I'm kind of scared about the security of my job now....guess I'll go update my resume again! Maybe I'll go work for DVC as a sales rep...Junior really wants to move to Florida anyways...UGH! I just hope it doesn't REALLY come to that! Hopefully his disappearance is a personal matter and not business related! I WANNA GO BACK ON VACATION RIGHT NOW AND JUST FORGET ABOUT THE REAL WORLD!!!!

Oh yeah, and I loaded ALL of my pictures onto photobucket yesterday and they're all gone today! So I have to do it all over again. But tonight I have to work on laundry and getting my house back in order. It looks like a tornado came through my house!

Well, I hope everyone else got off to a better week than I did!! Please send some pixie dust my way, I really need it!

Thank you everyone for making our first member cruise awesome. We had high expectations and they were definitely met. There were so many things to do and see it was a bit tiring but a heck of a lot of fun.
The fish extender exchange was so much fun. We felt like kids coming back to our room and seeing our FE stuffed with gifts. To everyone that made gifts thank you for your patience and hard work. To everyone else thank you for your imagination in choosing great and yummy gifts.
Thanks to all who organized this thread, the photo ops and the fish exchange.
I think we will be on the phone Oct. 2 trying very hard to get in again for next years cruise. This was a very memorable trip.
