We just logged into the DVC website to see the words "Your loan has been paid in full" It was the second 150 points we bought at OKW. We now "own" our DVC free and clear!!! WOO-HOO!!!!!!! (I would post some bananas doing the happy dance, but I'm on the laptop and I only have five smilies to choose from! (That's one of them. LOL)

WOO HOO!!!! Congratulations!!! Here are some happy dance bananas :banana::banana::banana:

So now that you are free and clear where are you adding on :rotfl2:

Terrie :)

Well, now we have to work on paying off our incredibly large credit card balance from when I was working a not so great paying job for a year. THEN we'll probably be adding on to our OKW contract OR maybe AKV...not sure yet. The reason we would add on at OKW is because it would just be easier to keep our use year the same and have all of our points at one resort rather than having two home resorts. But we'll see. That will be next year. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the happy dance, Terrie! I'm on the regular computer now so I can do it, too.

Congrats on paying off OKW. We love that place. Tried to get in there for the holidays but they are booked. They are doing some re-furbishing so wonder if that is why. We have never had an issue getting in there. Have to stay at ssr. Is it bad that my 2 home resorts I don't like staying at. Trying to see if I can get out of blt and move my home resort to AKL. Someone said I would probably have to sell my BLT points and then buy into AKL. Having my DVC cm look into it. In Ocean City Maryland this week. Can't wait to eat some crabs with thrashers fries and a couple of cold ones. Just got done looking at my photopass pics. Added some boarders but have some work to do.

I know from time to time there has been a questioned asked and maybe this one was already done: What excursions is everyone doing? I have not signed up for any. Probably to late but been busy on vacation:rotfl2:

Baseball is over:sad2: I had a great group of kids and we lost in the Maryland state tournament this past weekend. Miss the kids already. We did not play our best baseball this past weekend but after looking at the stats these kids played 42 games this year. Wow that is a lot for 10 year olds. Told them to get away from the game for a bit and guess what my son snuck his glove in his vacation luggage and he wanted to play catch today.

Have a great weekend. Hopefully will be back on. Have some school work (yuk) to work on this week.

Scott

Hi Scott! Yeah, you would have to sell BLT in order to switch home resorts which means you'd probably take a loss on it. BLT is getting a higher price point on resale though than AKV so it might be wash if you get AKV via resale also. Our original home resprt is SSR which be bought 180 points at $86 pp in 2006. SSR is now selling in the $60 something pp range on resale :sad2: We still have that contract and will probably add on there in the future too. BLT is selling via resale in the $95 - $100 pp range. We just added on 200 points at AKV through resale at $80 pp. I just saw a couple of AKV contracts pass ROFR at $76 and $78 pp recently though. So, that might be a good option and you wouldn't take a significant loss on it and get the home resort you want :goodvibes AKV is my favorite resort :thumbsup2

We are doing the parasailing excursion, stingray adventure and we are renting snorkel equipment for 2 days. Next year we will try some different excursions. Assuming we get through and are able to book that is :rolleyes1

Terrie :)

With all the dog talk, I need to tell you guys what my mean DH did today. It was in the low to mid 90's today with a heat index of almost 100. He came home from work at about 3:30 and let our dog, Pooh Bear, outside. When I got home at 5:45, SHE WAS STILL OUTSIDE!!!! I thought she was literally going to die. I've never seen her tongue hang so far from her mouth as she panted!!! I know that's how dogs cool off, but she looked like she was struggling to breathe. I got her a cold bowl of water and made her lay down on the pergo floor underneath the ceiling fan. She was breathing sooo fast! I called DH and let him have it! Poor thing, she's SIXTEEN years old and isn't in the greatest of health, and I really thought she was going to die of heat exhaustion tonight!

So, you all have my permission to slap him silly when we're on the ship for animal cruelty. Thankfully she's ok now! DH is really a good guy, I think he forgot to let her in as he was probably in a rush to get to his second job. So, maybe I should cut him a little slack. But only a little!

Oh yeah, and we have a RACCOON that hangs out in our backyard and hides underneath the shed. Nice, huh?!

Debbie, I am glad Pooh Bear was ok. Don't be too hard on DH. I am sure he did not mean it.

This is our 4th member cruise. Usually if we book anything we just go to Excursion desk to the right as you enter ship. We have usually gotten something but mostly the only excursion we take now is the TRAM to Serenity bay, Grab a lounge chair and rent a float. I think this year we are going to bend 2 pool noodles from home and use them.

Enjoy Ocean City. I have not had MD crabs in quite a long time. Enjoy some for me. Hopefully, you are having some nice weather.

I have not booked any excursions. I am going to have a relaxing two days on CC.

Sorry about your lost. But, at least you made it to the tournament. You are right, 42 games are a lot for 10 year olds. They did a fantastic job for making it so far.

It has been slow day/week on here. I guess people are busy either with work or enjoying the summer. Hopefully, it is the latter.

IVE BEEN DOING GARDENING IN THIS SUNNY HOT HUMID WEATHER. GOt stung by WASPS the other day, I was lying under some shrubs trimming didnt realize they were there. Got me about 5 times. One stinger must of hit a bloodvessel, it swelled up looks like bruise with big red area. My wife the RN told me to take Benydryl just in case and watch to see if im allegic. There seem to be many this year. EVERYTHING IS EARLY HERE THIS YEAR.

We would drive 10 hours to ANNAPOLIS just to eat CRAB CAKES. We had great Crab Omelettes at this NYC style Deli right in old part of Annapolis. I think its called Ruth and Chucks. im not sure. They still run and work in it and very friendly. We stayed across the street from the Govenors Mansion in old Annapolis. Laura actually lured a cat from the back of the Mansion at night to pet.:rotfl2: The hotel we stayed in had a room with glass floor so you could look down to see where they brought the prisoners from I think Spanish American WAR.

Chris-I found it really interesting to read about detassling. It just proves everyday we learn something new. I can either drive out to eastern Long Island to buy corn at a farmstand or the grocery store where it is 12 ears for a dollar-on sale. My DDIL is from Columbus Junction. Julie and my son did that big bike ride across Iowa. Her parents followed in a RV. She also did it when she was younger with her dad. My son loved it. The country, towns, and all the warm people who cheered them on with water, lemonade and even pies!
Only my DH and I are going to the Food & Wine also. Have you picked any seminars? I'm going to try to get us into the 3D Dessert Discovery and Celebrating Family & Friends in the Kitchen.
Vicki

Hey Vicki - Wow a dozen ears of corn for a dollar! :scared1: The local farmers around here are selling it for $5.00 a dozen. That is why I am trying to grow it myself. Plus last year I froze some of the corn and it was wonderful to eat during the winter. Tasted sooooo good. It is cool too that your DDIL came and did RAGBRAI - Registers Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa. It is really a big deal here in the state. It has come through my hometown a couple of times. Fun to watch all the bikers and see the crazy costumes some of them wear.

And, we are not sure about any of the seminars. We were just looking at them last night. We are meeting some friends that live in Florida and I don't know if they would want to do anything like that. The 3D Dessert thing sounds really cool. Maybe. We'll see.

Congratulations on paying off your contract! What a great feeling that must be. I'll join in the banana dance with you.:banana::banana::banana: Love those little guys.

Congrats to your baseball team. Sounds like they had a great season.

We have not signed up for any excursions yet. We are going for relaxation this cruise. We might rent some bikes or something but aren't really sure.

Too bad about BLT. We bought points there on the MC last year and haven't stayed there yet. So our first time is after the cruise. I have loved all the pictures I have seen of the place so we'll see. . . . . .

Be careful out there Ian. You don't want to be all swollen up for the cruise from Wasp bites. :rolleyes1

Marsha, Scott & anyone else from the Maryland area, hope all is well. The news was just reporting on an earthquake out there. How scary. Be safe.

I can't believe I didn't have pages and pages to catch up on. Although the pool is up and full - they have not come to hook up the filter - they are waiting on a part so I have had a pool in my yard for three days and can't swim:confused3!!!!

We are building the deck ourselves - my Dad, DH and I - so hopefully that goes smooth:worried:. My Dad is excited about having a purpose - but he is not able to work like he used to. I have to tell myself that it os ok if it takes him longer - he and DH built our shed - in two days from the ground up with siding.

Anyways----we only booked the floats for two days and bikes for one day. I didn't know if we needed to do it now or could do it there - but I went ahead and listed them now....plus I needed some type of Disney work!!:)

Off to work and then grocery shopping - I haven't been for a couple of weeks and we are out of A LOT!!!!:upsidedow

Have a great Friday all - the weekend is almost here!!!

Too bad you can't swim yet. But isn't the water really cold? I mean our pool is up around 88 degrees. 86 is ideal. I won't even get in if it is below 80. We have a thermal heater and a gas heater that we use to get the pool warmed up in the spring and then we put a solar blanket on the pool at night to keep the warmth in. We love our pool. In it every night after work and then on the weekends. It is so relaxing. How big of a pool did you get? Is it an above ground pool? You are gonna love it!
