08/08/07 Well, Olbia Monkey's Uncle! We're cruisin' on the 10nt Med Cruise!

I have been pretty busy with the end of the school year and some other trips that are in the works this spring, summer and fall.......

Has anyone else caught Samantha Brown's Passport to Europe show on the Travel Channel? It is my new obsession! She even goes to Barcelona and Rome and.....well, practically every other port we are going to and then some. I just watched Prague yesterday and WOW. I can see that this cruise is just going to be the frost on the tip of the iceberg as far as European travel goes!

I bought an over the door organizer on clearance from Bed, Bath and Beyond - I had read that people like to use them on cruise ships to hold all the toiletries and stuff in the bathroom. I am still unclear on how I am going to pack everything, though!

Anyone heard anyting about excursions or made additional plans for further travel pre or post cruise? Everyone still planning to go on this cruise? :wave2:

I'm here, I've just been really busy. It's been tough between studying for finals, coaching four softball teams and playing on one. But I find that the time goes faster when I'm not thinking about it! :) I guess that I have been so preoccupied that I haven't had time.

Hey everyone, Time is a flyin'

Thanks for the birthday wishes. I have been super busy myself, working and sleeping, oh and watching American Idol. Go Taylor! Speaking of which I am working on getting 2 tickets to the American Idol Tour when it comes to my area. One word, EXPENSIVE! But its for my wife, our anniversary, her birthday. It will be great, especially if I can get the floor seats, so she can be closer to Chris Daughtry.

I see everyone else is pretty busy too! I have watched Samantha Brown's Passport to Europe once or twice when I am home. Very good stuff. I am more of an Overhaulin' fanatic though.

As far as excursions go, I did email DCL and they told me they are working on it. But nothing yet. I really want to get the chance to go to Pompeii. I am looking forward to it.

But I have one more vacation coming up before that happens, that I have to plan for first. Then after September this year its all about DCL. Can't wait.

I did get the American Idol Tour tickets, on the floor seats 30 rows from the front. AWESOME. Had to work a little more for those.

Anyway hope everyone has a good weekend. I see I was the only one on here posting in the last couple days, little lonely out here.

I'm here! :wave2: I've been busy with softball and finals are coming up! I only have 2 more days of school! I'm excited. Then I'll be swapped with wedding stuff, so Disney time will go by rather quickly!

I should get American Idol tickets too. I really want to see Paris, Kelly, and of course Taylor. They stop near me last. How hard was it to get good tickets, James? I wonder if any are left? Perhaps? :confused3

Arica,

The place they are performing in my area is sold out! But, I was able to get them off of eBay of course I paid $30 over the regular price but at the same time I did get a good deal for them when I compared them to other seats near by, I got a good deal.

You might find out the same thing, that they are sold out in your area. But there is always hope, because eBay and other auction sites are selling them. You can also check out http://www.ticketmaster.com and see what they come up with. Good luck on your search.

I am so happy... Disney put together 2 of my passions. I have wanted to go to Italy for the longest time and who just doesn't love disney. This is my first time posting. I have been reading on this site for a while now and I am excited to be joining you guys. My husband and I just booked with a girlfriend of mine. I can't wait!!! Only 437 days to go :wizard:

Congrats Giggles and again welcome! Let us know the category room your in and late or early dining.

When is your wedding Arica? It's coming up soon isn't it? I'm going to want to see some pictures!!

Hockey game tonight!! Anyone watching?? I can't say I'm much of a hockey fan but Edmonton is in a hockey frenzy lately. I'm hoping the Oilers will win but they better be playing better than last game. Apparently there's a beer shortage here ... the bars can't keep up with the consumption on game nights!!

We are in a Catagory 10. I am a little worried b/c we are on deck 2 and I know there are some spots that are noisy on that deck. But we have the late seating. It worked really well for my husband and I on our last cruise with :cool1: Disney Nov 6, 2004. But I am just so Happy I don't care were we are as long as we go. :thumbsup2

Hi Giggles,
We'll be on deck 2 with late dining as well. I am sure it will work out fine - there are always earplugs if it's too noisy, right? :)

Hi. We are thisclosetosigning on to this cruise. Just waiting to check when school starts back in August to see if we have time or not. Will know in the next day. Otherwise may be a slightly earlier one. A few questions and thoughts:
First off, not that it really matters, but, what ship is this?

Also, as far as flights, we are looking at a few options. Some have mentioned, which we agree, to get to Barcelona, or at least, leave the US, the day before the flight. Actually, I suppose given it's an overnight flight, two days before the flight. So, I'm half thinking flying into London, spending the day, then getting an evening flight to Barcelona, then spending part of the day sight seeing. If it's a 9:30 departure, what time do they let you board?
I like the idea of local or regional food for the various meals.
We've been to Nice, and Monte Carlo, but not some of the other places. Actually, I tell a lie, ELW has been to Italy.
Since this is going to be our 30th anniversary trip, we'll probably do it nice.
Also, any idea on how much shore excurrisions are going to cost? My guess is alot. Rome, Florence, Pompeii, etc, won't be cheap trip.
Any suggestions to save $ on these?
Anyhow, hope to read a lot more on here. Be back soon when we confirm.

I'll be 21 at the time of the cruise and my husband will be 24, so we're right around the same age as your son and his girlfriend... maybe we'll see them in Rockin' Bar D! :cool1:

arica480~my husband and I are around the same age as you and your husband. We are newlyweds as well. :bride: I too am just glad to be going. Can't wait though maybe we'll see you. I'll be 26 and he'll be 25. :rotfl:

Hope you are able to join us on this one! The ship will be the Disney Magic. I would assume that you will be able to board by early afternoon on August 8th -- probably by 1 or 1:30. My best guess is that shore excursions will be very expensive. I will probably do most of the sightseeing on my own rather than via excursion to save money. Hopefully they will release the excursions and cost by early 2007 to allow us to make those decisions.
