08/08/07 Well, Olbia Monkey's Uncle! We're cruisin' on the 10nt Med Cruise!

Doing the happy feet dance. Got our Docs today. Don't know how DD missed seeing them at the door. Oh well. I recognized the package at the door when I drove up and raced up the steps to verify. I told DD that she had better start thinking about what she wants to take or I will pack for her. I'm sure she wouldn't want that. DH had better get the lead out as well. Just because he turned 41 today he thinks he can be waited on. Can you even believe that he asked where his presents were for his birthday. Need I remind him that the cruise was all of our birthday presents. DD and myself is in Aug.

Sounds like us, this is birthdays and Anniversary celebrations!! I would much prefer a cruise or vaca any day vs. presents!!! Give me the MEMORIES!!!

I hear if you're staying at a hotel THRU DCL, you can check in at your hotel.

But what if you aren't - specifically I'm wondering WHEN we should get to the port? Are they doing the number system over there? Is there really any bene. to getting their early & sitting around?

I thought it was Claudio but not sure. I need to go back to the documentation - we booked it awhile ago.

We are so looking forward to the trip. We are still depating whether to do the Florence/Pisa trip throught DCL. It has been such a mix on the reviews.

No docs here today. I am not really concerned because I have filled out the on-line check in and the only thing I will need will be the luggage tags. Even the luggage tags aren't that big of a deal because I was told they have the wrong stateroom numbers on them and I woud have to change them anyway.

Congratulations to everyone who has received their docs. Makes it seem more real and right around the corner.

The only thing you have to sign is the contract and there should be something in the document package or if you check in on-line, there is a page to print that you sign and bring with you.

How did you ever get through to Dream Tours? I sent several emails and they all bounced back! Oh well - we were able to get Sylvie DiCristo.

We are a family of 4 and received 16 luggage tags. Please help me understand a few things:

1) If we have Disney ground transfers from Airport to Grand Marina Hotel prior to cruise, should I use place the tags on our luggage prior to leaving home?
Or should the tags be placed onto the luggage once we get to the hotel?

2) Why so many tags? With 2 pieces per person and 1 carryon - that equals 12. Not complaining, just want to be sure I use the tags properly.

Also, I booked using my DVC points. I don't recall paying port charges/taxes during the reservation. Are they included already, or do we have to pay any taxes when getting off of the boat?

We had booked with Papillion Tours ( Lina ),papillionservice.com, we cancelled 2 months ago hopefully she'll be able to take you. I think she was charging 550 E.

I know from what I've read you'll be happy with Sylvie. We wanted Revolution Tours but they were already booked.

Dyan...I checked with my husband and he said in the past when we've booked cruises using DVC points the taxes and port charges were include.We've never been charged extra for that.

Have you received your DOCS ? Wondered if we might get them after everybody else since we used points ??? GINA

We used points and got our docs yesterday.

For the luggage tags....I also though we had a great amount but after looking at the tags they have made them like the airlines and you peel one part off and align it with the other end and stick the two together. They came folded up and made it look like we got twice the amount. Look them over and you will see what I mean.

We just got back last week. Do not put your tags on, until the morning you leave your hotel. Also for last minute tours, Presto tours is great. We did Rome on our own, through them...and had a great time. Have fun, I know we did....

UMTerp...are you flying out of BWI or IAD and what day are you leaving? We are leaving from IAD as we are from Ft. Belvoir.

We are flying out of IAD on 8/6 on BA. Our flight leaves at 6:45. We are in Fairfax. How about you?

UMTerp -- we are flying out 8/6 on Iberia leaving at 6:00 pm and staying at the AC Barcelona. And you? I have to drive out past IAD twice a week for my daughter's cheerleading practice and keep thinking only a few more drive bys before we are flying out.

We are also flying out of IAD, but on 8/4 at 5:18 on United connecting to Lufthansa in Frankfurt. We are staying at the Grand Marina. I currently work out by Dulles, but will be working in Alexandria when we return from the trip.
