So...

Were all of you guys on a previous cruise together, or are you all friends from home?

Well, for me...we met on our last cruise. Fantasy 2012. I am married to DizDaddy Tony, we booked our cruise way out and met on the boards early. We went through a lot in that time. We all grew really close. We met on the cruise and some of us our Facebook friends. It was kind of funny when we changed our dummy date we posted on facebook and found that others have done the same. The KLP group were a Disboard group and this is their third cruise together. So Cool Huh! I know it feels a little weird seeing that people know each other already, but this is a great group of people and we all know the purpose of the Dis Boards Meet is to meet new people. Everyone is very open. We can't wait. I know a lot of the group goes a lot of places but for us Disney is an every other year event. I wish we could afford to go more often but it is better than nothing. I love all things Disney and just enjoy hearing about everyone having fun.

Susan:grouphug:

I just thought I would say who I am and what I do.

Name: Susan
Age: Turning I 45 in a few days.
Occupation: I am a Disabled RN I have been out of work since 2009. (Hence the being broke thing) I was a labor and delivery nurse for 6 years and prior to that I was a Renal floor nurse with tele overflow.

About myself: I have a husband, Tony (DizDaddy) I have a DD, Kelsey who is 19 and a DS, Kevin who is 23. My son lives on his own and my daughter is going to a community college now and we think she will pick a major and move on to a four year college soon. (They both don't know what they want to be?) I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree because I started school when Kelsey was 3 months old. I took a few classes at a time and then five years later I graduated from nursing school). Guess where we went after I graduated? You guessed it Disney World!

I am the baby of fourteen. My Dad was a big Disney Fan, and he took us on a BIG Vacation every-other year! (see where I get that from) We would drive from St. Louis MO to AZ to see my grandparents then on to CA to see our Aunt and of coarse Disney Land. My Dad would buy books of tickets, and he let us loose on Disneyland. We would go to disney world every once in a while. We would camp in Jellystone Park and it was great! My poor mom, I don't know how she did it. My mom enjoyed the parks better after we were grown.:confused3
I don't know how I found a person who could like Disney more than me but I did. I married a kid at heart. My children think we are crazy always wanting to do Disney. But we gave Kelsey a Disney Cruise line bag this year and she cried and Kevin got a captain Hook hand for christmas from his god mom and he smiled from ear to ear. I can't wait to see what they do for their kids.
Oh I had surgery in 2011 a RNY which is gastric Bypass. I have lost a lot of weight and still have more to loose. I am down about 180 lbs. now.:cool1: I am not a pusher of the surgery but I will not hide from it either. I am still a Plus Size Girl and in my mind I will always be Ursla size. I won't tolerate someone talking bad or being mean to someone because of the way they look. Big or small, short or tall, religion or sexual preference, its all the same to me. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and loosing that much weight has helped a lot but it will never go away. For that reason you might see me in a "Zippy Cart" around the cruise. But my plan is to only use it at ports and parks ( I hope). I am a very nice person just a little scattered (I blame it on not working) but bare with me. Not too good with names, but good at facial recognition. (maybe I could work at shutters)

Previous Cruises: 2010 Disney Magic, 2010 NCL Epic, 2012 Disney Fantasy

Favorite Character: This one is easy for most people but not for me. I really like Ursla and Daisy Duck and I think that has a lot to do with Ursla being a big big girl and Daisy Duck because of her shape and mine are more alike. She also is a little tougher on Donald than Minnie and that is me too. And lets face it ....the girl can pull off those heels! I am also a big Fan of Chip and Dale because I have twin nephews that I am close too and they are always up to no good.
I guess that is all there is to say about me. Lets hear about you!

Hi Sue! Very Cool.

We have done 4 other Disney Cruises (Magic -Jan 2008, Dream B2B -March 2011, Magic-March 2012) and DD did another with her BFF this past October. We had originally booked the Wonder for Alaska this June, but we had a conflict (DD has Juvenile Arthritis and she attends the camp that they have every year) and we moved the cruise to this one.

We are DVC members and AP holders, so we go to WDW quite a bit. We'll be at AKV for Spring Break in mid-March and then at SSR in May (in lieu of the aforementioned cancelled cruise). Also, we will be at the national Juvenile Arthritis conference in Anaheim in July, so we'll have 4 days at DL as well!

We may add a day before or after this cruise at Disney's Vero Beach Resort which we found on the way down to the BCS National Championship this past month (oh yeah, Roll Tide everyone!). We stayed a night on the way down to try it out and were extremely impressed. It's about 45 miles South of Port Canaveral.

As to Facebook, I'll have to leave that to DW, I am not on Facebook ;-)

Just saw this! Our DD(9) -(10 at time of this cruise) was diagnosed with Pauciarticular Juvenile Arthritis when she was 2. Woke up one morning and the right knee was twice the size of the left. However, she is doing great. She's in medical remission thanks to the Enbrel that she takes. You would never know now just from looking at her that she has JRA. She is on a cheer squad and is extremely active. However, as you may know, with Arthritis, you can be good for a few hours, but really long days still take it out of her. We got her a transport chair this year as she is too big for a stroller, but we only use it at WDW as doing sometimes 10-12 hours will sap her. Early in the day (when she still feels good) at the parks, you should see the looks we get as she hops in and out of her chair, of course, they don't see her 8 hours later with knees hurting...

I agree with your sentiments on judgements. We actually had a CM at the MK gates over New Year's look at my DD as we were entering and said "Feeling lazy today, Princess?". I hate Arthritis...

Anyway, I digress. A great thing about the cruise is that DD doesn't have to be on her feet all day like at the parks. We are looking forward to the cruise and meeting everyone. DW and DD really get into the FIsh Extenders, and with a year to prepare, she'll have time to accumulate "stuff" to give out to everybody...

So this will be your first time on the Fantasy? You will love it, maybe too much. I now struggle with the idea of going to one of the other ships......we will see if that changes after they are dry docked and retro-fitted.

:cheer2::cheer2:180 pounds!!!!!!:cheer2::cheer2: What an amazing accomplishment!!!!!! I am so excited for you and you do look incredible!

I know what you mean about your mind - having my own difficulty with it after losing 45lbs. Not sure how that changes? with time? :confused3

Either way, you were a beauty when I met you and are a smaller beauty now. :goodvibes

Happy Friday!

I've gotten permission from the owner (AbsyBabsy, thanks!!!!) of this thread to do some re-organization. What this will do is reserve the first eight or so entries on page one of our cruise meet thread for information for the group. You can see a sample of how this worked on a prior thread I helped to maintain:

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2684530

The bad news is that it means starting a new thread. No way around it unfortunately. I've checked with a trusted board moderator that has assisted me previously.

However, per request---we will retain the same thread name, and this thread will be referenced to the new thread, and this thread will be closed. This thread will also contain a link to the prior thread, so no information will be lost.

I'm in the process of collecting all information together to start our PAGE 1 entries. We have a volunteer to put together the FE enchange list, etc (thanks, Jdybnsn!!!), and can dedicate one of the page1 entries to that effort!

As I did on our prior thread, feel free to send me pics that you would like to appear on page 1 of the new thread. Some tend to struggle with posting pics here, so I offer anyone and everyone the opportunity to send me the pics via PM, and I will save them in my PhotoBucket account and attached them to your page1 profile. It's a great way to get name and facial recognition working together.

More information to follow---continue to post, and I'll ensure that we get information together.

Have an incredible 'Disney-Dreaming' weekend!!!

Any questions, ideas, etc? I'd love to hear them---feel free to post them here or send them to me via PM. I have printed off the entries thus far, and recall one idea of a listing by childs age, so that similiarly aged kids can perhaps connect and make some friends! Great idea! Watch for that on page 1 also.

Thanks Tony :thumbsup2! You did a great job organizing our thread last time and I loved seeing pictures of folks so I could eaily recognize them in the cruise terminal or on the cruise :cool1:. I'll look through our May 2012 cruise/WDW pictures and find one to send you for the new thread. I'm on the fence about participating in the FE exchange. I'll decide as we get closer :beach:. I'm not sure if anyone is impacted by that ornrey Nemo hitting the east coast, but if so, please stay safe :grouphug:.

I agree, I hate Arthritis too. People just don't get it. It is Funny I was just talking to my brother-in-law and we were talking about a flair up and he says everybody has RA. I told him no OA is something people get as they get older. RA is where your body is attaching itself. It's not just your joints that are affected it is your heart your lungs everything. He just doesn't get it. His wife has RA and is a nurse and had to quit working too. Just shows you how understanding he is to her. My niece was dx with JA also as a child. One day she just wouldn't walk. Just stood there crying. She was treated with meds and went into remission. She was lucky. She just had her first baby. As far as RA goes, it most affects women but I had two uncles with it and I think two of my brothers have it now. Just not diagnosed. You know men. I am on humiria. took embrel. I think it is helping just took a shot a few min. ago. NOT CHEEP!!! As far as Disney goes... I LOVE IT. Wish I could go as often as you. It is my dream to go at Halloween and Christmas. We will see some day, it just might happen:confused3

:goodvibes
We will say its that. :confused3It has nothing to do with us getting older right?
I cant remember how much I was down on the cruise. I think right at 100 lbs. or 130 something like that. I am staying the same it seems now. So what you see is what you get. LOL Its silly that too me nothing has changed. I guess we are our own worse critic's. Tony is great at telling me I am beautiful. Couldn't ask for more than that.
OMG Susan!!!! Congrats on your weight loss :cool1:! What a big accomplishment :cheer2:. Hopefully you won't have to use your "Zippy Cart" too much on the cruise.
Thanks Kathy, I hope so too because my family won't like me shoving it in the car on the way down. I just don't want to rent one. We will see. Maybe I will just let the wait staff use it they all love the thing.

Can we try to end our messages with Real Names. Im not sure if this bothers people. But it will help me on the Cruise. I would meet people and look at Tony and he would whisper your screen name. So maybe if I have a real name as I go it will help. And then once Tony gets our Photos up I will be a pro like him.:lmao: NOT

Is there a moderator for this board? Or someone in charge? I have a question I would like to ask privately before posting here, just to make sure it's allowed.
Thanks!

Hi Tony,

Did you want Role Call info here or should we wait for the new thread? I'm just a little overwhelmed since my previous Cruise Meets were not as chatty as this one, but I'm really looking forward to getting to know all of you well in advance of our sail date!

Hi Kim, we live over on 280 (small world). Also, I think that we may have cruised with you before. We did a B2B on the Dream over Spring Break in 2011. Is that when y'all went?
