04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Yep. Exit Canada Place. Face the city. Turn right. Keeping the water on your right, head towards the convention centre (for the olympics it was the international broadcast centre), a big glass and wood structure. When you get past it, turn right again. Take out camera and take a picture.

The building below is outside of Canada Place. The building in the background is the Convention centre. Because of the waterways you will walk to the left of the welcome stand and keep going straight.

Thanks for the directions...I have printed them out and put them in my planning folder....I also saved teh picture of the torch so in case we don't get off the ship...I can print it out and say...Look what we saw!!!!!

Hey all!

We had planned on doing a Meet & Greet party at DTD on probably Monday as listed in the OP but so far I've only heard from 6 people who are interested. (For a total of 14 people)

If you are interested please send us a PM- we are getting ready for the Dream MV and aren't on the thread everyday yet.

If the interest remains minimal we'll look at just meeting up somewhere instead of reserving space at Uva or Catal.

I have heard from:

BippityBoppityBoo
sdlong329
DisneyPinDiva

grumpy-gramps
gydell

Thanks,

Lori & Rick

Catal is a restaurant in the DTD area. Uva is the outdoor bar/cafe area in the central part of DTD. We spoke to them when we were out there in October about possibly hosting a M&G at one of the locations. Catal has a balcony that faces DL where you can see some of the fireworks. So far Monday evening was the plan that fit best.

If we wanted to do a whale watch where do you think the best place to do it? Vancouver, Victoria or Seattle?

These are what we are thinking about doing at each location. We are going to do the ports on our own. If anybody has any suggestions for any of these let me know. Or let me know of other things we should consider doing.

San Francisco
*Walt Disney Family Museum
*Alcatraz at Night
*Muir Woods

Victoria
* Butchard Gardens- Does anyone have any suggestions on getting there

Vancouver
*Whale Watch
*Calipano Suspension Bridge or Lynn Canyon
* Olympic area
*Maybe do a bus tour around to see different areas. Do any of them go to Calipano suspension bridge

After cruise taking train to Seattle

Seattle
*Pike Place Market
*Space Needle
What else are must dos here

Does anyone know if there are any special dinners anywhere for Easter at DL area?

We are doing both the Disney Family Museum and the Alcatraz night tour on our own as well.

We are also taking the night train to Seattle after spending the day in Vancouver.

Jason and I will be at DisneyLand then...and we might be interested in doing a meet....although we aren't exactly sure what nights are going to be our World of color and Fantasmic nights yet.......

Thats our problem at the moment. We fly in late Monday afternoon and there seems so much to fit in before Wed.
With it being Easter week I expect the parks to be really busy and it seems getting a good spot for World of color seems to take a bit of planning. And if I remember rightly you have to sit for quite a while before Fantasmic starts in order to get a good view.....
....So I think both our evenings will be pretty much filled by just waiting for shows:eek:

Hi Everyone

In order to be on the lanyard list and receive the free custom lanyard and name badges, I need the cruisers below to check their listing.

It's very important that I hear from people on the "not confirmed" list.
I don't want to leave anyone out and I want to make sure that the names are correct!
So if you are on the "not confirmed" part of the list, please let me know if the listing is correct.

There is a list being compiled for the FE's... It's definitely being managed, just cant remember who it is that is managing it at the moment!

I think personally it would be easier to split into smaller groups, even by deck... Since running to 100+ cabins every day would drive me batty!!!

Most folks give one gift, not 1/day. But smaller groups does make more sense when there are this many DISers participating. Or just two FE groups like one for adult only cabins and another for family exchanges. :confused3

Ahhh... Lol. The last FE exchange I did had groups of 10, and we did a gift a day.... But the one gift thing would work too!

We should go back and find the name of the coordinator keeping track of names/ cabins wanting to participate!

Mine is still not updated.. not a biggie but we've been confirmed main for some time now. I know I pm'd about it a long time ago. but if it's too much trouble to change, I'm sure it's not a big deal. :)

Jeff will be flying in Monday night and I'll have to go get him (I'm his transportation LOL)
So it depends on time on Monday evening. If it's early enough it'll be the 4 of us. If it ends up being Tuesday it'll be all 5 of us. Just FYI.
Thanks!

Been working on this for a few days- didn't help that our internet was completely down for over 24hrs Saturday. ugh! But our cruises are paid for and I booked our flights and all that other fun (not!) stuff like where to park vehicle at DFW, rental car from LAX, transportation to port. Still a few more things to do and what is everyone planning on doing for transportation from port to Vancouver airport? Just curious... seems a lot of options once you get there but haven't figured out what can be booked ahead of time?

And just started browsing thru the excursions available as well. Whoa expensive. LOL
Wait us lowly silver members can't book yet can we? I didn't think so... all of you super cruisers huh? LOL

:dance3:100 Days!:dance3:

:cool1: Tomorrow will be double digit dance day! :cool1:

After the 2 day cruise to nowhere next weekend I can really start to focus on this adventure. And do minor tasks...like book my flight home! :lmao:
