04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Sarah,
I am sure I have your PM. I just need to do some updating to the Roster. Do keep me updated on your GTY status. We were originally GTY and got a room assignment already. You should have it by 30 days out.

As far as FE making, I must confess, I ordered my FE off of Ebay. If you search Fish Extender, some people make some nice ones.

Laura
Hi Hillaryone! We would like to join in the fun and do Fish Extenders too! Could you please add us, COASTIEandMATE Ron and Karen room7520 on the repo, and room7020 on the May3 Alaska to the list? We are too new to the boards to pm, also this will be our first cruise!!! Looking forward to meeting you. Mahalo and Aloha

Welcome Ron and Karen! How exciting to be going on your first cruise, and have it be a Disney cruise!:cheer2: Remember to bring lots of layers - weather can be quite cool in the Northwest and even in San Francisco in April/May!

I love your location! I'm hoping the Wonder heads out to HI for a cruise sometime!

CRUISE FINAL PAYMENTS: REPO: 02/10/2011 ALASKA: 12/20/2010

Georgie

I think the final payment dates may differ depending on your Castaway Club status....we are gold and our final payment dates are as follows:

Repo: February 11, 2011
Alaska: January 3, 2011

I just got off the phone with DCL as I was making another payment towards our cruise (since the CDN $ is almost at par with the US$) and I confirmed the above dates for our payments because I thought it was strange that Alaska's payments were due before the Repo's but the CM advised me that the dates were correct.

HI Tammie! Thanks for the tips! We live on the Big Island but went to Oahu to see Beauty and the Beast the musical, last month and had the opportunity to visit AULANI the newest Disney resort! The condos are gorgeous!! The pools are still under construction, but they pointed out a volcano waterslide that looks just awesome!! Also there has been some talk about DCL looking into the port of Honolulu, so we are hopeful DCL will come to HAWAII eventually!

Sorry if this question has already been posted here--I haven't read through all of the posts. I was wondering what to expect with dinner attire for the cruise..Is there going to be a formal night, a semi formal night, and the rest cruise casual? What has everyone heard? Thanks!

Thanks also for the update at Aulani. We were there last year in Sept and construction was just starting...I have seen pictures of the progress and it looks great. We own at Marriott there at Ko'Olina and can't wait to do one week at each! (also own Disney Vacation Club)
But I must say, I love the big island too! What part do you live in? I have only been to the big island and Oahu, none of the others. Maybe someday. I would love to go back to Kona again. We drove the entire island and loved it all. So many nice people too.
I think it would be fabulous if the cruise went to Hawaii...I would be there for sure for that one!

I haven't really been able to see it, but on 5 nighters they have one formal night and the rest cruise casual, so I'm thinking with an overnight in SF, that might be the case here, too.

I don't think we're going to do the tux anymore. There were so many on our recent RCCL cruise who only wore a shirt and tie - I'm sure it was so much more comfy, and us West Coasters are more casual, anyway:hippie:

I keep hoping we'll be able to purchase there, but I'm still paying on our SSR contract. One at a time, please!

Hi Denise! Happy to hear you like the Big Island too! We live in the southernmost part of the United States, down in Kau, on the way to Volcano. Ron is retired from the Coast Guard but I work part-time at the Walmart in Kona. My favorite day is Wednesday, ship day, when the Pride of America drops anchor in Kona Bay and all the passengers are taking the free shuttle to Walmart and Hilo Hatties! Every morning the kapuna, older gentlemen, sit at a table in Macdonalds and get out their ukuleles and sing their favorite songs for everyone!! Only in Hawaii! ALOHA, Ron and Karen

My Aunt and Uncle were on one of those cruise ship excursions to the Walmart in Kona - she looked across to the ship and saw some condos, and it was all over! They bought a couple of condos there that they rent out and use one whenever they want to visit! They love it there! Maybe the ukelele magic drew them in! :rotfl2:

I've been there! South Point!!! I couldn't believe that people really jump off the cliff there!! It was such a beautiful place. And to know it "really" is the southernmost part is also so cool. We met the nicest family on the main road there. After you leave south point you turn right, they had a roadside stand open. She had different country flags flying in front. Had the best Kona coffee and treats. She was Greek I remember.
Walmart and Hilo Hatties, the staples of tourists on the island. Your Costco is good too for gifts to take home too. We had that blue tour book on the island and it was perfect, I think it was Hawaii Revealed. (our priest lent it to us, the big island is also his favorite)
Oh I miss Hawaii now ....I have reservations for next year at Ko'Olina for Thanksgiving...can't wait...
Aloha..denise

I am also curious about the dinners and formal night. I was trying to figure out when pirate night will be. We are bringing DCL newbies with us and her girls are really excited. I have been telling them about all the activities and hoping that some of our favorites will be going on during this cruise. Do you think that they will have a character breakfast?

We were on the Pride of America last September to celebrate my parent's 55th Anniversary! Unfortunately, we did not visit the Walmart in Kona, we did a tour called Kona by Land & Sea which was fabulous! Our boat was surrounded by a pod of spinner dolphins, some of which had just given birth, so we saw lots of babies. We also sailed past Kīlauea at night - we could see the caldera and the lava as it flowed into the ocean - incredible!

I think the final payments dates are all the same, but if you want to take advantage of the Castaway Club advance booking of shore tours/Palo/spa, you have to be paid in full. For Gold Castaway Club, it's 105 days and that would be January 12th for the Repo.

good morning everyone - another day closer to the cruise!!!

Hi Everyone

This is the list for free custom lanyards and name badges for everyone
in your cruise group. Please take a close look at your listing and PM
me if I've made a spelling error, left someone off, wrong cruise, or if you are no longer
going on one of these cruises. Please PM me if you would rather have a different
version of your name on the badge (nickname, etc.).

PLEASE REVIEW YOUR LISTING AND PM ME IF IT IS CORRECT!
A * before your listing means your have verified the names and you are good to go.

It's very important that I hear from people on the "not confirmed" list.
I don't want to leave anyone out and I want to make sure that the names are correct!
So if you are on the "not confirmed" part of the list, please let me know if the listing is correct.

Thanks for your help with the list!

An accurate list is very important because I need to know how many lanyards to order!

Ken

Hi All,
I am back! I haven't been on this board for a long time, with everything else I have going on right now. But this week I bought tickets - we'll fly Bellingham to Los Angeles on Monday the 25th. We'll probably skip Disneyland this time; we have several friends and relatives in the area we haven't seen in a long time, and we need to visit a beach!

Unfortunately my daughter Kirstin won't be able to join us; here in Washington state the schools have a program called Running Start that permits High School juniors and seniors to take classes at a community college, and there's no way she'll be able to skip a week of college classes!

Ken - thank you for offering the lanyards; the names you have for the rest of us are correct.

I see Disney still hasn't published excursions. Our first day in San Fran we'll probably visit Alkatraz and maybe take a ferry to Sausalito. The other day take the F line streetcar to the museums around 3rd and Mission, take a cable car to Hyde & Beach, visit Ghirardelli Square, then make our way along the waterfront back to the ship.

I would love to do the sunset excursion to Alkatraz for the night tour, but my wife has seen a few too many stories about hauntings to go for that trip!

Is there going to be Priates night since we're not cruising the Caribbean?

I think there is always a Pirate Night. I'm guessing it will be the night we leave SF. Just makes sense. We can probably do Fireworks then, too, as we will be leaving the more populated areas of California. They'll have to do Pirates of the West, or something. :goodvibes
