0 Sleeps until we leave, See Ya Real Soon Mickey! A March/April PTR! Jambo Friends!

So 77 Sleeps until Disney World was our 18th Wedding Anniversary. We went to dinner to celebrate, nothing fancy just Texas Roadhouse. We took our kids with us, we want to show them a good example of marriage. I hope we do every day of the year. Now that they are older we often get to date on a regular basis. It is nice, we do not have to worry about babysitters.

So we were married twice, the year we were married. I know you are curious so here is our story.

We were engaged on my birthday May 1995. We had a wedding date set of March 30 the following year.

My husband was a late in life baby for his parents, he is the youngest of 6 kids and was not expected but well loved always because of this his parents were much older.

His father passed away July 1995, from many health complications at 71. It really sadden my husband that his father would never see him get married or see his children.

His parents were so close, so it wasn't a surprise when his mother's health problems worsened and she ended up hospitalized in Jan 1996. We got word from the hospital that she wasn't going to make it and there were only a matter of days that she would live. She was coherent and able to talk to us but not for very long.

My husband was so upset that his mother would never see him get married either. So we decided to get married at the hospital in her room. We were able to arrange for our minister to come to the hospital, the nurse made flower bouquets, and we had all his brothers and sisters for witness. It was a touching moment that I am so glad we decided to do. We lined up around her bed so she could see, we said our vows and she raised her hands in congratulations. I will never forget it.

She passed away 2 days later.

We decided to go ahead with our planned church wedding. We already had everything booked and the invitations were sent out.

So we married again in March but the legal one is January. We always celebrate twice a year!!!

So that is our getting Married Twice in one year story!!

:lovestruc

So I have had a busy weekend, yesterday was Concert Uniform Fittings for Aaron's Band at school. Since, I am a box mom, I was there all day helping kids get their concert attire ready. It was nice to see my fellow Box Moms and visit with them. They are hilarious and such great friends.

Solid ADRs Tina! Looks like you've got some great ones!

We're excited about trying BOG for the first time too! :cool1:

Today is 65 sleeps until Disney World.

I haven't made many changes.

I was pretty excited when Frozen won a Golden Globe and it has been nominated for the Oscars.

Still haven't seen Saving Mr. Banks, but it is on my list.

The kids have been off school several days because of snow, this keeps me busy.

I bought new flip flops and shirts to wear for our vacation.

I am thinking about changing the color of my magic band again. I have until 2/27 to change it, so I have time.

We make our FPP selections Monday, 1/27, so that is coming up!!!

Happy 65 Sleeps everyone!!!

Tina! I totally cried when I read about your marriage in front of your DH's Mother! So sweet!!!

I'm glad you got your BOG reservations (plural). :)

I'm a bit jealous you got a Beaches and Cream reservation...I'm still holding out hope to get a lunch one there. I would like to go over there during our Epcot day and take the boat over there. I think everyone would enjoy the ride and not to mention seeing the resort.

I'm down to 89 days until we leave!! :)

Today is #50 on our countdown to Disney World.

Sorry I haven't been around, with all this snow and cold weather we have been experiencing and all the days the kiddos have had off school. I have been a busy lady. I finally, got around today to doing some good cleaning around the house and decided it was time I did an update on all our plans.

I was able to make our FPP selections at 60 days without a problem. It was not very hard at all and I didn't experience a ton of glitches just 2. So that was good and they were not major.

I added a lunch to our anniversary day at Sanaa. I figure I can just get the bread service and tomato soup. I really want to give the bread service a try and this is a perfect day for that.

We are no longer driving and are now flying. So we now get extra time at Disney World. We had planned driving straight through to Orlando on 3/27 and staying at the Hampton Inn at DTD until our stay officially starts on 3/28.

Now we are flying Southwest and will arrive around 2pm on 3/27 instead of 11pm or midnight and we are getting a rental for our stay.

So we are going to go to Epcot the night of 3/27, no FPP because we are AP holders and our stay doesn't begin until 3/28 and if the 7 day rule stands for AP holders, I will not be able to make FPP reservation because I already have 9 days made for our stay. That is ok, we will probably just have dinner and catch Illuminations anyway.

We had to buy new luggage since we are flying ours is not so good and was falling apart.

I have been buying sunscreen and making sure everyone has clothing to fit them for our trip.

I haven't made a packing list yet, so I will be working on that soon.

We have also made a countdown chain. It is ready to go starting at 30 days. My kids are 12 and 17 but they still enjoy the countdown chain.

Happy Planning everyone! I hope your day is magical!

So excited for you!!! You can now say you are going to Disney next month!!

Yay for flying :) You are SO CLOSE to your trip now!

Thanks! I am really excited plus I am looking forward to the break from work. I can't wait to be back home to our home away from home, Disney World!!!

Just started following along. Your trip sounds great! We also own at AKV but have never stayed club level. I would like to try it sometime. I am anxious to hear how it is for you. I am not as excited as I should be for our upcoming trip only because our son is not coming with us. We had a difficult decision this year. We had planned on only one trip (as usual) in November. But then felt bad leaving our daughters behind (in college) so we scheduled another trip for March (YAY) except for the fact that our son can not go with us then. We already took him out of school in November and do not want him to miss another week in March. NEXT trip we will all go together! Still what I am looking forward to the most it F & G festival - never been before AND staying at BWV for the first time.

Thanks for following along. We are very excited about our trip, I keep patting myself on the back for planning one of our best trips yet, lol!

I can understand not being as excited when someone is missing. Our kids are almost at that point. Aaron our oldest will be a senior in high school and we will most likely be on a different schedule then the rest of us. It just makes me so sad to think he may not be with us on vacation in the future at times. I have been having a really hard time thinking of him moving on with life. I just keep telling myself to let him go, so difficult.

Glad you will all be together for the next trip.

I too am just so so excited about F&G. I can't wait !

We enjoyed BWV, we had a studio bw view. It was nice. :)

Fortunately for us our girls are not too far away. I hope that this will be the only year for separate vacations. But one good thing about having to change our vacation plans - we decided to add on so we would have more points to go on an extra or during different times of year that require more points.

24 Sleeps until Disney World!

Sorry I have been neglecting this PTR so much, there really hasn't been much to write about until recently.

We were able to get a FP for BOG lunch on the day we wanted.

I made a nifty countdown chain. It is black and white with red Mickey heads.

We made all of our FPP selections at 60 days and I have already changed a few around.

We booked a one night stay at Wilderness Lodge for our stay on 3/27 instead of staying off site at DTD.

I received all our magic bands.

We are really excited to go and begin our vacation and WE ARE SO SICK of SNOW!! Unless Elsa is making it!!!

I have a packing list to share.

We are going for 10days/9nights and are flying on Southwest!

I usually load the van with things when we drive. So I have had to reduce what I am taking this time.

We are renting a car and going to Walmart when we arrive for pool noodles, water bottles, and gatorade. Since we are staying club level for our entire stay we do not need sodas, breakfast items, or any snack items for our stay. This is so strange to me. I found out that Club Level doesn't provide water bottles so we are buying some to take to the parks.

I am taking a carry on on the plane and my backpack for the parks. I am going to put all of our important information, magic bands, gift cards, annual passes, ID's, and all medications in my backpack to keep it safe and with me at all times. I am putting my iPad, chargers, 3 ring Disney binder/planner in my carryon. My Carryon is for souvenirs to bring home. So it will not have a lot in it on the way, so I will more than likely put my backpack in it on the way there. It is small enough to fit under the seat on the plane. So that is good.

In my suitcase, I am packing:

sunscreen - We are not taking magical express, so we have control of our bags or I would pack a bag with swim items and a small bottle of sunscreen for the plane.

deodorant
chaffing stick - gold bond
Toothpaste
Toothbrush
flossers
bathroom cups for rinsing and mouthwash
mouthwash
Proactiv
hairspray
hairbrush
hair curling brush
hair accessories
hair product - trying to keep my hair from frizzing in Florida is impossible!
bathroom wipes
I bring my own shampoo and soap because I have skin allergies concerning soap products.
hand sanitizer
nail polish and remover to touch up our toes
make up
make up removing wipes
bathroom wipes
clorox wipes

I got trial size of almost everything so it doesn't take up as much room. We usually throw out our tooth brush and things and do not take them home.

Sandals
Swimsuit and coverup
shorts
shirts
PJ's

Intimates

I am also taking dryer sheets and a small 25 laundry liquid pacs of All to do laundry. We will have to use the DVC laundry facilities because we have a studio instead of a one bedroom this time.

So I have packed most of my things, it is cold here so we can't wear shorts or capri pants as of yet. So I am able to pack most of my clothing.

My kids and husband are not packed yet but I have made individual packing lists for each one of them and I have packed their toothbrush accessories, deodorant, and sunscreen for them already in their suitcases.

Now, I have to wait 2 weeks to go! or 14 sleeps!
