89 Sleeps until Disney World!

Yay, we broke into the 80's!

So I have been wanting to try Spice Road Table and hoping it is open when we go and that it is counter service.

http://www.wdwmagic.com/dining/spic...st-look-at-the-food-from-spice-road-table.htm

New Information!

I really want the hummus and olives! I hope it is open when we go!

Yum!

.

Hi Tina! :wave2: Yay for getting down into the 80s now! You're only about 4 weeks away from being able to make your FP+! Have you given any thought to how/when to use them?

Hi Alan :)

I know! So excited we are in the 80's! It is getting closer.

I have been thinking about how I am going to use the FP+.

Right now AK & MK are not tiered but I am wondering if that means I can book for instance.

Big Thunder
Peter Pan Flights
Winnie the Pooh

We go to MK 3 times so I can book the different things three different times.

I have been curious about this.

So not sure I need to start asking questions.

AK - I would book

Kilimanjaro Safaris
Expedition Everest

Hollywood Studios
Toy Story Mania

Epcot

We have decided to FP Soarin and get to the park early for test track.

We will have to see if any rules change between now and 1/27 when my booking window opens.

We plan to go to rope drop and use FP+ in the afternoon or evening.

We will see! Thanks for asking.

.

Good call on saving the FP+ for the evenings. I believe that is what we are going to do as well. It's really how we have toured in the past anyway. Get to the parks at rope drop and ride everything we could while gathering FPs and then using those in the evening. We'll just have those times set out ahead of time now, I guess.

Joining in a little late here, but it looks like you are planning a great trip! Congrats on being to double digits!! I love love love AKL, I can't wait to read about how you liked their club level. I really didn't expect to love it as much as I did, but now it always seems to make my short list of resort choices!

Solid plan so far on the FP+ Tina. I wonder if 7DMT will be open by the time your trip comes? I fully expect that one will be absolutely covered up from rope drop on. For our trip, I'm hoping FP+ for that ride might be an option.

We are going with the same strategy at Epcot: get there early for Test Track and use our FP+ for Soarin' later on.

One of our days, we will be doing a water park....so our plan that day is to make FP+ reservations late afternoon/evening at DHS. Maybe something like RNRC at 5pm, ToT at 6pm, Star Tours at 7pm, then leave for dinner. So many options!

Hi Tina! Coming to join from the April FB page (Sandy). I have some catching up to do but am along for the ride!!

I agree, We have also always toured like this. We use to collect FP all day and then use them in the evening back in the day when you didn't have to adhere to the FP window on your ticket. I also like that there is not longer a FP runner. I heard a RUMOR that MDE may let you make more FPP selections after you use the first 3 if something is available but only while you are in the park. We will have to see if this is implemented later this year, it would be awesome.

We honestly didn't like AKL all that much before we bought our DVC there. We bought DVC at AKL because it was cheap per point and we got a deal. Our first DVC stay ended up at AKL in a Studio for 10 days and we feel in love but we didn't know how much we actually loved it until we started staying at other DVC resorts. Don't get me wrong the other resorts are beautiful. So we stayed again at AKL for 8 days and then we had a summer trip staying at BCV/BLT one week at each and we realized how much we missed AKL. So that is when we really realized we love our AKL but we are going to stay at other places. We have a 2016 trip planned for hopefully for Grand Floridian Villas in a studio. We will have to see what is available at the time, it will be at Spring Break and that is a busy time. We may have to stay at AKL. See I am type winded! LOL!

I really hope 7DMT is open before we go, I will be changing my FPP time to ride that ride. Either that or they do a soft opening when we go and invite AP holders to ride it and I can schedule a time. So very excited and I want to ride it. We will not return to Disney World until 2016 because we are either going on a DCL or DLR, we haven't decided and it depends on my husband's bonus check this year.

Hi Tina! Coming to join from the April FB page (Sandy). I have some catching up to do but am along for the ride!!

Hi! :) Sandy, I am glad you found me and you are along for the ride.

Now I have some catching up to do on this PTR!

See you all Soon!

.

So today is 80 sleeps until Disney. Somewhere along the line, I started to neglect this PTR.

We are almost into the 70's, that will be tomorrow and 11 days closer to making FPP selections. I know, I am way to excited about FPP selections, it is ridiculous.

Day 88 & 87 are a blur, I can't remember anything from those two days. I am sure if I thought really hard I might be able to remember something but my brain might burst from too much thinking!! I think it was the Sunday & Monday before New Year's Eve. I probably went grocery shopping on Sunday, yay! huh! Grocery Shopping, I actually hate it!

86 Sleeps until we leave for Disney World, New Year's Eve!

We have a yearly tradition of going over to our friends house and spending the evening eating snacks, playing cards, and watching the ball drop on tv! We have been doing this for the past 9 years. We had a ball this year. I made a taco dip, it is made with a layer of refried beans, sour cream mixed with Hidden Valley Ranch Dip, and shredded cheddar cheese. You use tortilla chips or corn chip for dipping. I also made cookies, in a mini muffin pan I used store bought peanut butter cookie dough. I baked it in the oven and then added a small reece's cup to the middle. Best Cookie ever! I am not the greatest cook. So this right up my alley.

85 Sleeps until we leave for Disney World, New Years Day!

Happy New Year 2014!!!

We spent the day at home. I made chicken and noodles for dinner. It was very good. One of our family favorites. I also made some changes to our dining plan. I will update my daily plans, I previously posted. Or just repost them today after this mega paragraph!!

84 & 83 Sleeps until Disney World is a blur, I am pretty sure I worked both days. I have a full house of Daycare Kids!

82 Sleeps until Disney World, I remember this day. It was the day I put up the Christmas decorations and wash all the bedding in the house. It took all day to wash the bedding and it felt good to clean up all the Christmas Decorations.

This is also the day we decided if our yearly bonus check was enough we would take a trip on a Disney Cruise or go to Disneyland Resort in 2015 for Spring Break. Originally, we were to lay off a year to get DS settled in college and pay for all his graduation festivities and needs from high school. So it all depends on what or how much of a bonus check my husband receives this year if we can do it all. We will have to see, plus we borrowed all our DVC points and we want them to build back up again for another blow out trip in 2016.

81 Sleeps until Disney World was yesterday! We received 10 inches of snow with a warning for extreme temps the next day. We will get into that in a minute.

So we played in the snow yesterday, I took some adorable photos of our doggies. I love them so much, I will have to show them to you all.

Buddy and Jasmine our Golden pups. They had so much fun and slept all night long. So tired from all that fun.

Do you want to build a Snowman? Love that song from Frozen!

Our daughter built a snowman:

It is adorable. She had so much fun, I went scrambling through the house looking for decorations. Glad I found some for her to use.

Today is 80 sleeps until we leave for Disney World!

and it is so cold here, we are in record temps right now! -9 last time I checked.

Brr....we are not use to the extreme cold. The coldest it gets here is -2 in January. Wind Chill factor has been blown away!

See that circle on the picture! It reminded me of a Hidden Mickey, I have mickey on the brain!!!

Until next Time!!!!

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

Changes!!!

79 Sleeps Until Disney World is actually tomorrow Tuesday, 1/7/14 but since I have a habit of neglecting this PTR lately. I thought I would get ahead a bit in my posting.

I made some changes to our plans, nothing too major but I realized a few things.

#1 - Flower and Garden will be happening at Epcot World Showcase during our visit. Last year they started having Food Booths during this event and I wanted to try some of the foods.

#2 - We wanted to get to Disney as early as possible.

We have made a decision to take our kids out of school for the whole day on our Travel Day and we are driving straight through again. We just want to get there as soon as possible. So our first day will be almost a whole day at Magic Kingdom now and I am going to attempt to schedule a FPP for BOG lunch for that day now. So now BOG FPP lunch is solved!!

Day 1 - 3/28 Arrival Day
Check in: AKV CL
Park: Magic Kingdom
Lunch: BOG Lunch FPP - new!! Changes!!
Dinner: The Plaza
Wishes - I like to get fireworks out of the way in the beginning.

Day 2 - 3/29 - Zero Changes!!

Park: Animal Kingdom Park - all day until close
Lunch: Flame Tree
Time at AKV CL
Dinner: Boma

Day 3 - 3/30 - Anniversary Day - ZERO CHANGES!

Park: AK/Epcot

AK for the Sunrise Safari
Time at AKV-CL
Epcot
Dinner at Le Cellier
Hopefully catch Illuminations

Day 4 - 3/31 - Zero Changes!!

Park: Epcot
Lunch: Via Napoli
Back to AKV-CL in the late afternoon
Dinner: Sanaa

I had originally taken Sanaa out for this day but I really want to eat here even if my family doesn't so I put it back in! Surprise!! Guess where we are eating tonight!! LOL!!

Day 5 - 4/1 - Zero Changes!!

Park: Hollywood Studios - all day until close
Lunch: Backlot Express
To the Boardwalk/YC/BC area
Dinner: Beaches & Cream

Day 6 - 4/2 - Changed Lunch at the Plaza to Lunch at Counter service somewhere in MK.

Park: Magic Kingdom - All day until close
Lunch - Somewhere in Magic Kingdom!! I realized, I didn't have enough CS options for Magic Kingdom and even though I do not enjoy the CS options in Magic Kingdom, my family does. So if I want to go to Sanaa, I have to let them eat CS at MK. So I cancelled The Plaza for lunch.

Dinner - Be Our Guest

Day 7 - 4/3 - I made changes so I can try the food booths for Flower & Garden. I cancelled Via Napoli and moved Teppan Edo to dinner because we have Via Napoli for lunch already and DS wanted to go to Teppan Edo to celebrate his graduation.

Park: Epcot

Lunch: Flower & Garden Food Booths and World Showcase CS

Dinner: Teppan Edo

Illuminations Night

Day 8 - 4/4 - Since we are arriving early on Disney property and driving straight through our BOG lunch FPP hope is scheduled for our first day on 3/31. I have changed it to MK CS options now.

Dinner has been changed from Jiko  to Chef Mickey's for the family and we didn't have a character meal. We haven't been to Chef Mickey's for dinner since 2008 and we had a good breakfast experience here in June 2013, so CM it is!

Magic Kingdom

Lunch: Magic Kingdom CS

Dinner: Chef Mickey's

Back to the resort for packing and to roam AKL

Day 9 - 4/5 - No Changes!!

No Park Day - Leaving for home

Breakfast: Boma

Update on our Plans, hopefully, I do not change them again!

79 sleeps until Disney World!!!

Ok, all caught up!! I'm so glad to hear your positive comments about The Plaza. We have a dinner reservation there on our 2nd day. I have never eaten there so I was a bit nervous. The menu looks good, but you never know.

Also, your fur-babies are so cute!!! Must be tough to leave them behind on vacation :(

I'm excited about F&G too, I've not been to Epcot at this time so I'm looking forward to it. I also went to the Disney Food Blog and read over some information about the food booths. They don't have the details for this year yet, but they have last year's so it gives you a good idea about the food and the cost. My DH, DMIL and DD are all picky eaters so it might just be me and Mom partaking in the food booths. :)

I can't well to tell my DD about the Butterfly House she is going to flip!! I'm also curious to see how my DS reacts...I think he will get a kick out of it!

I tried to get an ADR for Beaches and Cream on 4/23, but no luck. I will keep checking back. I think the family would enjoy taking the boat over to the Epcot Resorts and checking them out...we will just have to wait and see if that works out.

So, you made similar changes to your traveling plans as I did. We are driving from NC and initially we were going to split up the drive into 2 days (mainly for my son). We did this on our trip in Nov 2012 and it worked out well. However, I started talking to my Mom and she felt we could do the 10 hour trip in one day especially since we would have my Mom and MIL with us to help with the kiddos. We are getting our tickets through UT so we bought 4 Park Hoppers we got a 5th one free so now we can take advantage of that 5the ticket and spend the entire day in a park!

Can't wait to read more updates...looks like you have a wonderful trip planned!!!!

I am always so sad to leave my furbabies, I miss them so much and I usually cry for about 10 minutes after we leave them. I have a really good friend that comes over to let them out. She is the best or I couldn't leave them at all if it wasn't for her.

Travel Plans :) We always end up leaving earlier than we start off with, we are so desperate to just be at Disney. Our drive is 16 hours so it will be all day, we know we can do it because we did it in June, we left at 3am and arrived around 7pm that night. It wasn't too bad, so we are doing it again.

78 Sleeps until Disney World!

I am almost done with my first dining report from our June 2013 trip to Disney World.

It is located here. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=3181101 if anyone wants to check it out.

It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, so I am going to do another for this upcoming trip and I am thinking about doing a TR because I have decided it wasn't as hard as I thought.

If I do a trip report I need to do better job taking notes.

Doing my dining report has really helped to pass the time until our next trip. It has been nice.

Oh that would be very nice indeed and would alleviate some of the concern that people will end up with less FPs under the new system.

All caught up on the PTR. Nice BOG reservation on your first day! Cool!

Now I will go check out your June 2013 TR.

You're only a couple of weeks away from making your FP+ reservations! :cool1:

I know, I hope we can get it when they are released!

FPP reservations are soon!

Still planning for those, I have actually enjoyed planning the FPP reservations. So excited to finally be able to schedule them soon. Then, I just have to stalk my BOG Lunch FPP for 3/28!

But that will be fun for me too, because I just enjoy it!!! WAY TOO MUCH!! LOL!

.

I hope you do a TR. I'm hoping to do one as well, but like you said I will definitely have to do some note taking!! :)
