May was a lot of work, and the beginning of June will be finishing up the work for the school year…final grades, cumulative folders, final reports, packing up and cleaning my classroom. Where did the time go?!

Next week we will begin stage rehearsals for graduation after the school concert. Then Field Day. There’s going to be lots of celebrations for the end of the year, and eating well will be a challenge. Two baby showers. My principal’s retirement party will be a huge gala. My school book club is meeting at a winery. Then, graduation for 110 kindergarteners and the party for my class afterwards. Two days later, school is over and then we go to Cape Cod for two weeks.

I will do my best to continue to lose weight during this busy celebratory month. Wish me luck.

Yes, where did May go?

I finally had a weekend where I wasn't dead to the world and things got done... many things. Including finally getting all the the seedlings planted in the big pots. Everyone was still alive this morning, hurrah for that.

Yesterday when I was having lunch a tooth broke, like 1/4 of it just disappeared. I already had an appointment in a couple weeks to work on it, but fortunately my dentist was able to get me in today and do the work early, which includes putting on a crown... temporary crown is already on and at lunchtime I go back to get the permanent. It's an early thankful that he was able to take care of it today and the rest of the week isn't discombobulated because of it.

My goals for June: I've been fumbling around trying to figure out how to eat being on Ozempic but I think this month I'll just cut to the chase and put a number out there... -5 pounds by the 4th of July.

Topic Tuesday is inspired by a karate assignment the Dads have to do. They need to create a 2-3 minute video of their progress over the years and must pick a song.
What song would you select for a reel about your health journey?

My health journey song:

("To everything, there is a season...")

Wednesday WooHoo:

Just that I have managed to keep up "placeholder routines" for exercise so far this week. Other stuff has been crazy, so if 10 minutes was all I had, I did 10 minutes.

Woohoo... yesterday I really listened to what my body wanted to eat for dinner and ended up going to the grocery store for crackers, cream cheese and smoked salmon, plus a bunch of fresh fruit. It was the perfect dinner and double woohoo... lunch today is sorted as well.

Woohoo... all my seedlings are still alive.

Today I am thankful for my inner voice of reason. Yesterday when I got on the scale it was up a bit and I started bemoaning "Why can't I lose weight" and "I just don't know what to do", and The Voice chimed in and said "Yes you do". And it is right, I do know what to do. So yesterday I got the Lose It app again (last time I used it was 2023 and I was 10 pounds lighter, so that is promising) and started logging my food. I've been thinking part of the problem may be that I'm not eating enough but in just one day of logging I can see nope, if anything I've been getting too many calories. 1200 calories per day is practically nothing, particularly if you burn half of it on a sweet carby breakfast. I'm going to go over calories today because we're going out to lunch, but I'm thankful that this is pointing me in the right direction.

I am also thankful for my new acupuncturist. I love her vibe and the choices she's making seem right on... my body is very happy about this.

Woohoo 🙌 🙌 🙌 finally down to 33 cents...my spiritual food that has replaced the Oregon windfall peach... unfortunately the only produce section with that price is 15 miles away and you are only allowed 6..., but I cheated on my diet and went back into the store and purchased 6 more

Happy Friday everyone!

This has been a good week. In addition to acupuncture and calorie counting, I've started doing Fabulous 50's exercise videos again. There's a stretching one I really like and I also found one that she says targets the belly, so hurrah for that. And things have really shifted at work, partly because of the "what we're working on" changes we made and partly because of changing where I sit, which seems to really be making a difference. We (the others on my project who do what I do) had a couple meetings yesterday... one just a "human check-in" where we talked about how we're all doing and the other was lunch where we talked about the project, what is coming etc. Both were really good and hit the spot.

Plans for the weekend... I'm going to wander around town tomorrow, checking out the farmer's market and some of the shops, maybe the art or history museum. At some point over the weekend I'll go for a walk at the nature preserve and I want to check out a park I haven't been to yet. Just nice relaxing stuff.

This week felt exceedingly long but made it to the weekend. Finally got the chicken wire up in the garden, only made it halfway but hopefully that’s enough to deter the rabbits, we’ll see. We have another mystery plant in front of the house, according to google lens it’s something in the squash family…and it looks healthier than the ones intentionally planted…figures
Tomorrow is running kids around in the morning then hopefully some crafting in the afternoon or on Sunday. Going to try to do some infusible ink designs and got a couple makeup bags to try it out on. If it works awesome if not htv it is
