When I was there in January 2020, there was Christmas music playing as we watched them take down the tree. The next morning, the music was back to “normal.” I would guess it switches on and off with the decorations.

Happy Holidays All!

Since some information is starting to slowly trickle in, I’m going to start updating this thread to prepare for the Holiday Season!

Page 1 is already updated for 2024, so as decorations start to go up, I will be sure to add in dates for reference. For those looking for past Christmas Decoration and Gingerbread House dates, feel free to check out page 1!

I hope this thread is helpful to those with upcoming holiday plans in Disney! See you there!

Resort Gingerbread Houses Returning for 2024​

Walt Disney World Resort hotels will feature unique Christmas trees and other decorations, as well as special holiday treats. Gingerbread displays return to several Disney Resort hotels — more details will be shared “soon.”

Hi!

Does anyone know when the pop up Christmas shop opens in the lobby of AKL? The one with the special Christmas treats. We arrive first week of December and hoping it's open by then?

Also Animal Kingdom Lodge has gingerbread sculptures in the lobby too! A giraffe and a zebra!

Preparations Begins For the Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort​

Well, with the holiday season just around the corner, the Grand Floridian Bakery team is getting ready to work.

When visiting the resort today, we noticed that space had been cleared in the Grand Floridian lobby and tile had been laid down.

Soon, the smell of gingerbread will be wafting through the Grand Floridian Resort’s lobby, and guests can watch another holiday masterpiece come to life!

Work Begins on the Gingerbread House at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Bakery artisans and construction crews are already working hard in the Grand Floridian lobby, building this year’s gingerbread house!

The building’s infrastructure is currently being installed before the gingerbread festivities begin in earnest.

Here is another look at the infrastructure of the house.

As you can see, construction crews are on hand to ensure everything is installed correctly.

The entire area is roped off. A sign out front notes that Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Gingerbread House is coming soon!

With just two days until Halloween, the holiday season will arrive in full at Walt Disney World before we know it.
