I'm looking at this line from the Disney Parks Blog:

Island Tower at Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows will feature a variety of room types that will sleep from two to nine guests, such as duo studios, spacious one- and two-bedroom villas and brand-new two-bedroom penthouse villas. Many rooms will feature spectacular views.

Do we think this means there are no 3BR Grand Villas? It sure looks like that's what's at the top of the tower, but maybe that could somehow be the 2BR penthouses. It might make sense to not offer grand villas if they would take away bookings from the bungalows.

My understanding of the release was no GV, but a new 2br "penthouse" suite. Probably everything with a GV minus the 3rd bedroom.

Hello all! We’re staying in a LV studio at the end of next month and I’m going to request a higher floor but I was wondering if there’s a big difference between second and third floor views? Is the third floor significantly better?

We stayed in room 2030 and we could see the fireworks pretty well (I included a picture). My parents had room 3026 and they had a view a bit more centered on MK and without the palm trees obstructing their view. At check-in, we were offered a third floor room after our first night, but with three young boys, we just decided to stay put. While I always will always request highest floor, the second floor appears adequate for most rooms. Touring Plans has room finders, with photos from every room in Moorea, so you could take a look at that to get an idea of how the two floors compare.

I agree with Jack. I've had rooms on all floors of Moorea lake view, and I don't find much difference between 2nd and 3rd floors regarding fireworks. We've been able to see the fireworks well from the 1st floor, too, though the view of the lake is more obstructed from floor 1.

I always request upper floor, but a nice advantage of floor 1 is you can sit on the patio without a big wooden railing at eye level. (I add 2 pillows to my chair while viewing fireworks on floors 2 or 3.)

I found the Murphy bed to be as comfortable as the actual bed. Both were great.

There are two Murphy beds in the DVC Poly studio. One is a queen size and one is bunk size. The queen size is a regular mattress and is reportedly very comfortable, much better than the sofa bed it replaced. The bunk size mattress is comfortable enough, but not all adults fit because it’s smaller than a twin.

We are under 2 weeks from our next stay at Poly - MK View - Moorea. We love this resort and often steal my dad's points to stay here, Wilderness - Boulder Ridge, and HHI. This time we are hitting Vero Beach for 3 days after the Poly stay before heading home. If there are any questions anyone wants answered before the end of the month that I can take pictures or look into while we are there, let me know. I will try to post a bunch of pictures - my wife takes thousands of pictures. I am looking forward to seeing the progress on the Tower and using our favorite path to the TTC to get the monorail to MK and EPCOT. Only better way to get to MK is walking from BLT.

Hello all! Curious question. When you check into your DVC and find issues. Do you report them?

We arrived Thursday for our annual family vacay. We own at the Poly. To our delight our room was ready when we arrived before noon. Normally we never get into the room prior to 4pm so we were thrilled but prepared for the norm.

Upon entering, the room seemed decently cleaned but not great. We have stayed here multiple times and feel the cleanliness of the room is never stellar but they do turn theses rooms over fast and they are always booked so I try and give mousekeeping some grace because well that is unfortunately the way of post pandemic world. Overworked and understaffed.

Then as we unpacked, there were nails sticking out of the chest/sofa table. My husband pulled those out with a tool because that was dangerous.

The sliding door locks were both broken.

The thermostat was saying 72 but the room was more like 65.

The shower heads were so clogged, water was literally dripping out and all 3 sinks (bathroom and kitchen) were barely draining.

So I called and requested these matters get resolved. I was kind and gracious about the request and to their credit they came and fixed immediately.

I just wonder if they check the rooms for these things. I mean these same issues happen at our homes so we have to maintain them on the regular but we pay dues for just this reason. I think with this post pandemic mentality if you complain you are a “Karen” is making me second guess my self. I have stayed in the regular rooms recently and they seem much more kept up BUT I know they recent went through a refurb…well like 3 years ago??

I love the Poly and will always love the Poly but I miss the gold standard that we used to see here at Disney.

We would have reported those things immediately as you did. We might even have made a trip to the front desk to report in person, based on concerns that calling or even using the Hey Disney contacts someone off site who might not be prompt in sharing the report with the correct people.

Yes, we always report issues, even the small ones. If they are not emergencies, we usually report them to the front desk when we go about our day. I’d rather report it so it get fixed rather than let it go and it becomes a bigger issue. Bigger issues cost more to fix and that comes from dues.
