•The Official COPPER CREEK VILLAS & CABINS Owners & Lovers Group•

I just checked out on Sunday. I had requested a room facing the Boulder Ridge side and my request was honored, so thankfully we didn't have to directly deal with the views or loss of our balcony (although the construction honestly did change the overall "feel" of the resort for us if I'm being honest.) It appeared that people were in those rooms, based on lights being on and some doors with curtains closed, some open, etc. Obviously I don't know that for certain since I wasn't in one, but my assumption was that people were being placed in the rooms. Also there were various reviews on Trip Advisor of people that were placed in the rooms covered with scaffolding on the resort side, so I would think they aren't treating the Copper Creek side any differently.
Thank you for your reply! I had initially requested "main pool" view but called a week or two to update to "away from construction".
I wonder if I should just change that to "Boulder Ridge view" for better results.

I put "SE-facing room (facing Boulder Ridge pool)" when I initially chatted Member Services. I also spoke to a CM once we arrived in the AM to verify that they were able to honor the request. At that point (around 9:30 am) she was already able to confirm for me that we had been assigned a room on that side and which floor it was on (still subject to change, but odds were in our favor.) Good luck and I hope you get a room away from the construction!

I'm a little concerned now about my stay next week! When I made my waitlist to get this booking, I definitely overlooked that CCV was having exterior work done. Hoping for a Boulder Ridge facing room too. It would be disappointing to be in a room where the balcony is covered up by the scaffolding. Excited to be at CCV regardless ...after all, we'll still be at WDW!

If you are able to would head to the front desk prior to getting your room assignment and see if yo can ask for no scaffolding.

I already did the online check in, not sure if that will be a problem! But I emailed asking for a SE facing room/view of Boulder Ridge, so maybe that will help me. If I see my room assignment while we are traveling there, I'll check the room number on touring plans to see where they placed me. I hate to be difficult, but I'll stop by the front desk asking to switch if we're on the scaffolding side. 😐

Yeah unless I need my room asap I think I decided to stop doing online check in. Its worked better for me the times I dont.

Good luck! Either way I hope you enjoy CCV!

thank you!! I agree about online check in. I typically do not do it beforehand, not sure why I did this time. lol. I guess in my excitement about the trip I jumped the gun. It's absolutely on me that I missed the notice about the exterior construction. I set the waitlist not expecting it to come through and didn't pay attention to the warnings in red on the availability page under the resort. My bad. But regardless, still can't wait for our stay at CCV! Lesson learned for my next trip, I suppose - pay attention to all the construction notices for anything waitlisted!

*Disregard. Someone who is there reported this is not the case. See post HERE. Sorry for the scare!
May have been me! I was there last week (left on 11/4) and the MK boat did NOT go to FW either direction. There were still the two docks at the MK, one for FW and one for the WL. We went from the WL directly to the MK, the boat came from the MK and then went back to the MK after picking up WL guests. May it have changed since last week??? Maybe??? The CCV side of the WL facing the pool was definitely under construction, I posted a picture in another thread (not as good as yours @mrsap). And people were staying in those rooms. With the popularity of the WL at Christmas time, I don't see how they could not use those rooms.

I do online check-in first and then do my room request via Member Services after. So far the 2 times I've done it, they've been able to pull up my request and read it back to me, so it seems to work? I also regretted not digging into the exterior construction notice more when booking this room at 7 months. It was very vague and had no end date initially and I guess I convinced myself it would probably be close to wrapping up by the time I traveled. I also couldn't figure out where the exterior construction started, so I wasn't even sure if Copper Creek was in scope or if it had been completed already. Lesson learned! By the time I realized the extent of what was going on it was too late to switch to another 2 bedroom anywhere else anyway. You will still have a great time; we did! I just really missed those feelings of looking out over the back courtyard, walking through the little cave and down the stairs next to the waterfall, etc. - and the lobby was darker. It didn't feel quite the same because of the construction, even though we could easily avoid it by having a room on the other side.

Getting placed in a room with the scaffolding outside the balcony is just really not acceptable in my opinion. They should have planned to have those rooms out of service. If they can do it for a room refurbishment they can do it for exterior refurbishment! I had already decided that if we were going to be placed in one of those rooms I would offer to move to another resort if they had anything else available. Fingers crossed it all works out for you!
