I believe bunk beds have been phased out due to safety risks at most hotels and resorts (not just Disney). I don’t think they are coming back.

I guess kids can fall out but just in the Cabins

I saw post on FB that a murphy bed fell on someone this week at Disney .. beds are so dangerous!

RIV had an issue with Murphy beds falling off the walls, closing with guests inside, etc. when it first opened. It seemed they hadn't been installed correctly, and Disney had to send the crews in to re-do them. I'm sure there are threads to be found via a search here. It would have been December 2019 into January-February 2020, just before the world changed.

Someone on FB said they stayed in a refurbed 1 br. this week. They posted this picture of the Murphy Bed from Room 7110. I’m not sure how legit this is, since she didn’t post any other pics of the room, but thought I’d share. I’ll share if I see any more .

Any word on if the refurb is doing a 5th sleeper in studio or 1 bedroom?

What should I request?? It looks like being on the top floor, you don't have a great view while sitting down? What are the best floors to request?

I can't say this is absolute fact, but I've always read the reason they didn't have occupancy for 5 was a fire code thing so don't ever expect it to happen.

I made our reservation 11 months out and requested room on the 6th floor, one we have had in the past and has a view of MK fireworks. Based on what I read here, it seems like the 6th floor may not be available for our trip.

I called DVC and they attempted to contact the resort to clarify which floors would be closed or which rooms not available and they were not successful in getting any information even after putting me on hold for more than 30 minutes. That was a little disappointing. So I ended up putting a secondary request for the 7th floor with a similar view.

I’m a little disappointed that as an owner no one can tell me if the room I am requesting is even available. I know a request is never a guarantee but not sure why it is difficult to tell an owner what is available on a stay that is only a few days away. Normally I wouldn’t care as much but this is is a two week trip, combination of graduation and a birthday.

I appreciate the information here, otherwise my request would just have gone unfulfilled with no other options.

Disney has been very forthcoming about the timeline for renovations, it's our choice to stay knowing this. As I responded to another of your posts, you do not say when you are arriving. Renovations are scheduled to be complete in September. If travelling in October or beyond, I don't think it will be an issue. Prior, that is a different story. Hopefully the 6th floor will be done by the time you arrive!

We check in on Sunday. So In four days.

I’m not throwing a hissey fit over it (and I know you are NOT saying I am ). But in reality they have to know whether an entire floor is available in four days.

I would not change my reservation this summer either way. Again, graduation and birthday celebration. Just saying that I didn’t think I was asking much to know if an entire floor is available four days out. It’s a simple question. If not great, let me make a different room request. This 6th floor room is a favorite but knowing it may not be available gives me the opportunity to make an alternate request.

That's a good question. Maybe it's just space? Since they're converted hotel rooms they just may not be space to fold down another bed.

Edit: I did some looking into it and other than the AKV Value rooms, CCV is the smallest villa in square footage. So this might be it.
