•The Official COPPER CREEK VILLAS & CABINS Owners & Lovers Group•

DW and I have only ever stayed in the studios, but we have a big anniversary coming up and I wanted to surprise her with something special. I was thinking about 2 nights in a cabin but i keep reading about people loving the GV. Both are total overkill for us, but do you have a suggestion on one vs the other? Thanks!

The Copper Creek GV is very large and you are right, overkill for one couple. You get larger space and more bedrooms, which you wouldn’t need. The cabins, however, have more unique spaces that you might enjoy, as well as the water view.

I second the vote for a cabin. The hot tub and the screened in back porch with a fireplace is well worth the points.

Thanks very much! That’s what I was leaning towards but having never seen or been in the GV wanted to make sure since it’s a good chunk of points either way! Happy New Years!

For us the GV is the best room on property at WDW but the cabins would be up there. For just 2 people I would agree with the group and give the nod to the cabin. One of our dreams when we retire is to spend a few weeks in a cabin each year if we can pool our points together at 7 months....

This is great news!

Can they find a way to get an extra twin drop down in there and get the 2BR to sleep 9? Likely no due to the size of the rooms but I can dream. Got excited at first but realized that that looked familiar and it's actually BRV.
I thought I heard at one point it had more to do with fire code capacity than space issues. Not 100% sure if that's true or not though.

Manufacturer Confirms Pull-Down Beds for Copper Creek

The manufacturer of the popular pull-down sofa beds installed in many Disney Vacation Club resorts has seemingly confirmed that the units are planned for Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

A blog post from manufacturer Inovabed confirms involvement in the renovations.

"Inovabed is thrilled to announce our latest collaboration with one of the most magical destinations on earth—Walt Disney World. As Copper Creek Villas & Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge undergo renovations, we’re excited to showcase how our innovative Murphy Beds will elevate guest accommodations, blending comfort, convenience, style, and timeless Disney charm."

The soft goods refurbishment of Copper Creek is targeted to begin around May 2025. There are mixed signals regarding the full duration. Initial information suggested the project may be completed by September 2025. However, during the December 2024 association meeting, DVC executives claimed that it may take up to a year. This is the first refurbishment at Copper Creek since its July 2017 opening. In addition to the new sofa beds, guests may see changes to wall coverings, floor coverings, window coverings, linens, upholstery and other decor. DVC resorts are typically subject to a lighter soft goods update about 7 years after opening and a more significant hard goods update at 14 years.

This is great! Hope it's done by September, have the first part of my split stay there! Then on to the Poly. My two favorite resorts!

If we lose the table and chairs for the Murphy beds I’m gonna be PO’d.

What is the location of the nearest Target? We may buy a stroller rather than renting one for a week. Thanks!

Spring 2025, I doubt they'll remove an entire room category out of inventory so the booking tool will still show availability until available rooms are booked.

Renovations are scheduled to be done in September. So chances are, you will have a renovated room. And as @Pooh12863 mentioned, they will go floor by floor, not by room category. So you should see most room types available during the process.

Yes but the studios with the bath tub are only on floor one correct?

I think there are a few in the corner of every floor

on the official page there is nothing about the room refurb. only the painting

I’d be surprised if they took the entire 1st floor out of inventory all at once. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.
