Life will be the bubbles this summer at Disney’s Hollywood Studios when “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” opens!
Journey under the sea with Ariel and friends starting on May 27, 2025, when this all-new theatrical production inspired by the Walt Disney Animation Studios classic The Little Mermaid opens to fin-tastic applause.
This fully reimagined show will take the audience to Ariel’s treasure trove, keeping the lively puppets, props, and scenery center stage. But new to this production, get ready to be dazzled with new digital puppetry and jaw-dropping effects. Plus, the addition of new-to-the-show songs!
No need to hold your breath, May 27 will be here before you can shake a dinglehopper.

What is “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” about?

Nestled in Animation Courtyard, Ariel, Flounder, Sebastian, Prince Eric, and more will take to the stage to retell the classic story of The Little Mermaid. This fully reimagined show will feature stunning set pieces, imaginative costumes, cutting-edge effects, skillful puppetry, and a bold new design aesthetic that captures Ariel’s imagination and emotions through her unique view of the world around her.

What songs will be included in the reimagined show?

They say life is better down where it’s wetter for a reason. And that’s because audiences will once again get to hear “Under the Sea” and “Part of Your World” as part of the performance. Plus, two new new-to-this-theater musical numbers will debut, “Daughters of Triton” and “Kiss the Girl.” Don’t try to hide it — you’ll want to hum along.

When does “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure” begin performances?

Swim on down to Hollywood Studios for May 27 (or jump on the Skyliner, or take a bus or boat) for these performances to kick off! With multiple showtimes each day, you’ll have plenty of chances to experience this, guppies.

Don’t fret, poor unfortunate souls, here’s a peek at “The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure”

This world makes such wonderful things, including a look at one of the performances in the upcoming show! Ariel will again flip her fins center stage when the musical adventure opens this summer.

Plus, a new collage highlighting the characters guests know and love from The Little Mermaid has arrived, leaning into the animation-inspired style for the full production.

So it opens in two weeks but no signage??

Concerning......I know it can go up overnight but usually it's finished by now.
I’ve seen reported they are in rehearsals but how is this not done. It’s not like it was just a poster sign? Hopefully something starts happening outside soon.

I am so glad The Little Mermaid show is coming back! It was always one of my favorites. I know this will be an updated version, but I like what I see. The artwork is cool - I like Ariel's kind of artsy tail!

What I think Disney Hollywood Studios will do with this new The Little Mermaid A Musical Adventure show is input heavy marketing to it and I think if this new The Little Mermaid show recieves rave reviews a Disneyland version of it will follow suit. Because The Little Mermaid has been a classic Disney film since 1989 I think this new show will be just as good as Voyage Of The Little Mermaid was. Because when you look at it it's tough to see The Little Mermaid shows because you'll never know if it will be good or not as we saw with the Broadway version of The Little Mermaid that was a failure. But we shall see when May 27th comes what the critics will say

I’m excited for the 27th. Any word on how the queues will work? VQ? Standby? Hoping to catch this and the villains shows, but happy if I see either that day.

Was not expecting to burst into tears at the end of this clip, but with Benson crying and evoking Howard Ashman, I couldn't help it. Very much looking forward to the show!

I wasn't expecting that either! Definitely evoked all of the feels

My window for scheduling LLs opened today. I'm looking at May 28th and, so far, there is nothing for either of the new shows.

My window opened today and they’re not listed as LL attractions at all for 5/27. Not surprised about Villains as Lightning McQueen didn’t have one either. Mermaid I’m assuming they will add the ability to book. We were already planning 5/27 as our first HS day anyway so we’ll be catching both shows.

I chatted with support this morning about the lighting lanes and this was the response:

At this time, Walt Disney World has not made any official announcements regarding this information. We suggest you continue checking the My Disney Experience website for advisories and updates. We appreciate your time and understanding in this matter.

We will be in HS 5/29- please post your experiences with these shows, theatre size, wait times, and so on. I know this community will be my best source of how to plan to see them both, hopefully without waiting over one performance length! Which we don’t know yet!

My window opens today and I see Mermaid listed as a LL experience.

BUT...it's not shown on the list where you can click and purchase. I'll check back later.

I have LLs booked and I'm not seeing it at all. Don't even see it in the list of LL eligible attractions if I go to book one for the 1 in our group who has a slot free on 5/27 (bc she's not riding Slinky Dog) or if I try to buy LLMP on another day.
