Yep. and I was posting this at the same time as you. This particular seating really carries even less of an appeal as it's the one show where there are seating choices to be had.
LOL... Illuminations is the one place where seating is less of a big deal. Because there are places where you can dine, seated, and watch.
Just 2 weeks ago, on the night of the Dis party at Epcot, DH, DGD and I walked up to Rose and Crown (no ADR) at 8:00 and got seated right on the rail with a dead on center view of Illuminations. We couldn't have gotten a better seat if we'd planned it out months in advance. I realize it was a fluke and all that but that particular night, there were more empty tables than there were used tables. I think it may not be as hard to see Illuminations seated as folks think it is.
It has been, and I see no reason why it won't continue to be first come first served.FastPasser, do you know if the seating is assigned or do guest fill in as they arrive?
Does anybody have a map of where the seating area for this event is?
Yes but that night a whole lot of folks would have gotten one too. They never did fill upIf you're lucky enough to score that outside seat at R&C then you're in for a special evening. You had amoment.
The only time we've had this occur was at HS before they move the SW Fireworks and they moved us to an inside location.Going 8/31!! Question, we've never done a dessert party before...what happens if it rains? It doesn't look like the viewing area is protected at all. Not sure how they would serve food in the rain.
Wow, good reponses, but it's actually pretty straight forward. Assuming that it's handled the same as countless other, what is called "mix-in" connected to a private event, guests are escorted to the attraction, they do the ride, and then it's hasta la vista, baby, you're on your own, now go home.
That's how the scores of private dessert parties that take place every month are handled. And just like the SW dessert party, they'll be an Event Guide, could be me, leading the group to FEA, and an Event Guide at the rear and everyone will head out at the same time. Unless they depart from the normal routine, more than likely that's how this event will be handled. But anything is possible.
There is a weather backup for all outdoor special events. For the Illuminations dessert party, it's The Odyssey, if it's available. If it wasn't, there is a secondary location. The decision to go weather backup is made late afternoon in order to allow enough time to setup the venue. The dessert portion of the party is held at the backup venue and then guests can either head out to the viewing area whenever they want or can wait and be escorted out with the group.Going 8/31!! Yes, "mix ins" take place many times after the park closes.Have there been parties as of late that were led to an attraction after park close versus a viewing area for a show;
After being escorted to FEA, party guests wearing either a wristband or lanyard with a credential will be allowed to do FEA. Don't know which yet. Currently it's a wristband. Once guests are dropped off at FEA, the group becomes FEA's responsibility as they will exit the park on their own afterwards. If someone gets to do FEA twice, good for them.My point is, this is not anything like the SW dessert party where the climax is a show that once it's over, it's over and the escort is to a controlled viewing area. The guests here will all need to ride FEA. The most logical way is for the event CM to provide the FEA operators with the 125 dessert party head count and collect as many vouchers/stickers to verify each has ridden and only ridden once.
I don't see why there wouldn't be some dates in Nov.I hope that there will be some dates while we are there, but with the varied dates in October, nothing is certain.![]()
Trying this in Aug because...
1) Seating
2) Frozen ride
3) Seating
4) It's something NEW
5) SEATING!

I don't see this offered on 9/25?![]()

I'm pretty sure it will be. The current party has been around for years.I only hope this is offered when I go next Spring Break.
Oh, they're very familiar with the seating option, it's nothing new. It's not well known, but the group that puts on the current Epcot dessert party is the same group that annually puts on the hundreds and hundreds of private dessert and/or dinner parties at Epcot, DHS and AK, most of those included seating.I have been saying for ages that they need to offer SEATING!!!!!. I am so excited they are listening.
I know, but the person I quoted when I said that said they booked it for 9/25.
Sorry Sunday 9/24. I had a slight panic attack for a moment thinking I had booked the wrong date!
