“Dreams Come True Momma!” A 2 year old’s first trip ~ May 2015~Complete {NEW TR LINK!}

Your room is so pretty! I loved the Royal rooms there, I kind of regret not staying in one on this past trip, but I think they were all booked anyway!

Aww, the surprise from Mickey for Little Miss is so cute! What a good idea! :lovestruc

Wow, see, this is why I'm so afraid of the buses and always rent a car! :scared1: You never know how long you will stand there and wait for a certain bus to a park, it's agonizing! :rotfl:

Her Favorite ride was most definitely the carousel with Figment up there as well. :figment:
Izzy was crazy for the carousel too. She had a different reaction to Figment, though. After her first ride, she said it was "scary". On her second ride, I found that it was scary because Figment "bugs her". :rotfl:

There has always been something special about Disney that has held a place in my heart and I have always dreamed and longed for the day that I could share it with my own daughter. In many ways this trip was a dream come true for me.
Very sweet!

DH and I found that to comfortably tour the parks we really needed to build in a rest day after every two park days.
That was smart. I wish we'd had a rest day or two.

We managed to get everything in without a single window being blocked.
:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

In his diligence to pack his suitcase he forgot one small minor detail…..He forgot to leave his arrival day clothes out of the suitcase.
Ugh, I've done that before too. :headache:

Little Miss has now choked on her post nasal drip and thrown up that just eaten twizzler.
 Poor Little Miss!

Our first thoughts were both “CRAP! SAVE LAMBIE AND BLANKIE!!! SAVE LAMBIE AND BLANKIE!!!”
:lmao: Can't say I blame you.

I could start to see my grand plans for hitting up DTD dwindling away already.
:sad2:

SCORE! My kid won’t arrive to Disney World naked!!!
:rotfl2: Love the towel!

I won’t lie a part of me was cringing inside that after all the hard work on planning out her outfits and back up outfits and contingencies that my daughter was going to be walking into her first Disney resort in nothing but a diaper and a pool towel.:sad2:
Ironic. But at least you had plenty with you (once you could get to them).

“Tiana stopped by this morning and left this for you. She wanted me to be sure that you got it.” She then pulls out a scroll and hands it over to Little Miss.
How sweet! :lovestruc

The Royal Room looks absolutely gorgeous! What a great thing for Little Miss' first trip to have the fireworks and all the princess goodies. The welcome gift turned out adorable, I bet she loved it!

Also, how precious is she in her little Cinderella dress?? Oh my goodness, I would love to go to Disney with a little one sometime to see that part of the magic first hand. She is so cute!

The bus situation is awful, we experienced it at Pop that week too. So many Epcot buses while the MK crowd extended halfway down the bus loop. Even worse for you guys that there was no formed lineup

******We left our room at 5pm for our reservation. Where were we headed and what time did we finally get there and check in?********

I'll guess 1900 Park Fare judging by that adorable Cinderella dress, and I bet you didn't arrive until 7:15.

Joining in!

I feel badly for you guys and DD with the car sickness. I used to be like that when I was a kid, couldn't do anything in the car or I would be sick and even then sometimes just looking out the window would do it. Luckily I outgrew it and hopefully your DD will too!

POR i such a pretty resort. I am far from being a little kid but I too would love having fireworks going off on my headboard. I bet that little touch made bdetime extra magical for her. :goodvibes

Joining in! Sorry it took so long - I was kind of DIS-absent for a while due to not being well, but I'm happy to catch up!

“Oral Apocalypse”
Yikes! This apocalypse sounded AWFUL! I'm glad that it was almost fully better by trip time. Phew!

started the game of Car Tetris
A game I know well.....

DH started Operation keep the kid asleep by quietly changing her diaper and putting her back down so that she could fall back asleep.:tiptoe: Phase one was pulled off without a hitch.
Wow - that is impressive! - at no age would that have ever worked with my child.

In an instant she was wide awake. :headache:
And .... then there's that! *sigh*

Our first thoughts were both “CRAP! SAVE LAMBIE AND BLANKIE!!! SAVE LAMBIE AND BLANKIE!!!” So in a move worthy of a mommy ninja, I thrust the barf bucket (because we at least thought this far ahead) at Little Miss and threw Lambie and Blankie out of the line of fire. DH quickly pulled off that the first exit we came across and we ended up in a Grocery store parking lot.
That's some fast parental thinking/action, if you ask me!

We pull off at the first exit I could find and end up in the Fridays parking lot facing Universal. It was not a fine moment for DH and I. Here we are in a parking lot staring at Universal, over an hour and half behind schedule already, no clothes for the kid, and a car seat that is completely covered. THANK GOD Lambie was safe from the line of fire. (She may have been thrown by one of us across the car to save her) Blankie wasn’t quite as lucky but not that bad. I was once again able to use some water and paper towels and get it mostly clean.
Again, a GREAT save!

SCORE! My kid won’t arrive to Disney World naked!!!
:woohoo:

And this is where the magic of being at Disney really kicked in. Because while our room wasn’t ready I was informed that they were able to grant all our room requests and by the time we had reached the check in desk it was 2:45pm so letting Little Miss run around in a pool towel for 15 minutes wouldn’t kill her. Then to amp up the magic in the moment the girl checking in stops us as we are about to leave and calls out, “ Oh wait! I almost forgot!” then turning to Little Miss said, “Tiana stopped by this morning and left this for you. She wanted me to be sure that you got it.” She then pulls out a scroll and hands it over to Little Miss.
Awwww - so perfect! Love Disney!

Awww - perfect!!! :goodvibes

Your room is so pretty! I loved the Royal rooms there, I kind of regret not staying in one on this past trip, but I think they were all booked anyway!
They are pretty and I certainly enjoyed being in one, but I wouldn't go out of our way to stay in one again.

Aww, the surprise from Mickey for Little Miss is so cute! What a good idea! :lovestruc
I got the idea to do it from here on the boards.

Wow, see, this is why I'm so afraid of the buses and always rent a car! :scared1: You never know how long you will stand there and wait for a certain bus to a park, it's agonizing! :rotfl:
We've decided not to rely on them for future trips. This isn't the last of the bus incidents.

Izzy was crazy for the carousel too. She had a different reaction to Figment, though. After her first ride, she said it was "scary". On her second ride, I found that it was scary because Figment "bugs her". :rotfl:
How funny about Figment. :rotfl2:

That was smart. I wish we'd had a rest day or two.
In the moment there were times were it was soo tempting to just skip a break and hit up a park, but in the end it was a good thing that we skipped out.

:lmao: Can't say I blame you.
Replacement Lambie's aren't exactly cheap. And I'm not sure the "Lambie has to see Doc again" excuse would work this time since we were Actually seeing Doc during the trip.

:rotfl2: Love the towel!
Better than nothing right? That towel saved my BUTT!

Ironic. But at least you had plenty with you (once you could get to them).
True. THough I hope that isn't alluding to something from your trip. :rotfl:

The Royal Room looks absolutely gorgeous! What a great thing for Little Miss' first trip to have the fireworks and all the princess goodies.
She LOVED those fireworks that's for sure. ::yes:::wizard:

The welcome gift turned out adorable, I bet she loved it!
I think that the scroll from Tiana stole some of the thunder from the surprise and thrill of the welcome gift. But she is thrilled with the items themselves. And I am glad I got Mickey for the price I did. ::yes:: That boy ain't cheap down there!

Also, how precious is she in her little Cinderella dress?? Oh my goodness, I would love to go to Disney with a little one sometime to see that part of the magic first hand. She is so cute!
It certainly beats all other ways of experiencing the magic! :wizard:::yes::

The bus situation is awful, we experienced it at Pop that week too. So many Epcot buses while the MK crowd extended halfway down the bus loop. Even worse for you guys that there was no formed lineup
I'm not sure why this is just specifically a MK problem but it was horrid!

I'll guess 1900 Park Fare judging by that adorable Cinderella dress, and I bet you didn't arrive until 7:15.
:rolleyes1

Joining in!
:dogdance::welcome:

I feel badly for you guys and DD with the car sickness. I used to be like that when I was a kid, couldn't do anything in the car or I would be sick and even then sometimes just looking out the window would do it.
SHe got it from her Momma that is for sure. Thank goodness for Tablets though. We never had it that good as kids! :rotfl2:

Luckily I outgrew it and hopefully your DD will too!
I'm sure she will.

POR i such a pretty resort. I am far from being a little kid but I too would love having fireworks going off on my headboard. I bet that little touch made bdetime extra magical for her. :goodvibes
She was beyond THRILLED with those fireworks. ::yes:: :wizard:

Joining in! Sorry it took so long - I was kind of DIS-absent for a while due to not being well, but I'm happy to catch up!
:wave2: Glad you could make it over! :welcome:

Yikes! This apocalypse sounded AWFUL! I'm glad that it was almost fully better by trip time. Phew!
It was awful. But it really made those last 10 days FLY by! :rotfl:

Wow - that is impressive! - at no age would that have ever worked with my child.
DH has the skills in this department. rarely have I ever been able to do it.

And .... then there's that! *sigh*
Stinkin light in the car! :faint: It would have worked if not for that! ::yes::

That's some fast parental thinking/action, if you ask me!
Thank god for the Mommy Ninja skills!

Again, a GREAT save!
Err.... Not so much. Turns out the save attempt actually dragged blankie through the mess instead of saving it from it.

Always a good thing when your kid doesn't have to arrive naked. ::yes:::rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

What a rough trip down for little miss and for both of you! Quick thinking about using the hoodie and saving your daughters lovie!!! On a happy thought, love the gifts given from Mickey. :earsboy: Enjoying reading your trip report, can't wait for up dates. Oh such a beautiful picture of your daughter and you on the grounds of POR. :goodvibes

Loving the TR!! I thought it was so cute that Little Miss wore a beach towel coverup to enter the resort! They must have thought she was REALLY ready for vacation! And those royal rooms! They look so nice! I am definitely going to look into those!

Oh wow the wait at the MK bus line is crazy! We had to wait in lines like that...mostly for the buses to the parks going back to the resort. It was not fun when you're dead tired and just want to go back to the room...I'm thinking it took you 1.5 hours?

I'm sorry for all your travel delays those are rough for everybody. I love the video from breakfast it reminds me of the one I took on my kids first trip to Disney. They had been begging to ride the monorail so when we finally got on I whipped out the video camera pointed it at my 3yr old DD and said "Where are you?" to which she replied "Right Here." After I stopped laughing I had to ask in various ways for a whole minute to get "On the Monorail" and which point her big brother got impatient and added "At Disneyworld!"

Can't wait to see all your bows on your little princess! I'm afraid to even guess about dinner...8:30?

Oh, I'm so sorry about your daughter getting so sick in the car! :( I'm looking forward to more updates!

Sorry about the car sickness! A full tummy actually helps mine, but I can't try to read in the car or I am toast!
And throw up on car seats (and Lambies) is the worst!

I hope it was 1900 PF and you have a good review to report...we are headed there in 3 weeks!

What a rough trip down for little miss and for both of you!
Rough is a good word for it. ::yes::

Quick thinking about using the hoodie and saving your daughters lovie!!!
I'd call it more desperation and availability than quick thinking. But boy was I glad I threw that in the bag at the last minute!

On a happy thought, love the gifts given from Mickey. :earsboy:
ANother thing I was glad for. Those Mickey plushes are PRICEY down there! The extra magic touch to it helps as well. :wizard:

Enjoying reading your trip report, can't wait for up dates. Oh such a beautiful picture of your daughter and you on the grounds of POR. :goodvibes
:thanks:

So what time did you make it to dinner? :)
:rolleyes1

Loving the TR!!
:thanks:

I thought it was so cute that Little Miss wore a beach towel coverup to enter the resort!
I was never happier to have a pool cover up in my life!!!

And those royal rooms! They look so nice! I am definitely going to look into those!
More picture of those on the last day. You have plenty to drool over yet. ::yes::

Oh wow the wait at the MK bus line is crazy! We had to wait in lines like that...mostly for the buses to the parks going back to the resort. It was not fun when you're dead tired and just want to go back to the room...I'm thinking it took you 1.5 hours?
Except at the Moderate resorts its not a set line for each park. just a depot with a swarm of people.

I'm sorry for all your travel delays those are rough for everybody.
The last one was the most brutal! To be so close to the finish line and then get hit with that is just not the way to start the trip. (Note she did this to us on our last vacation as well. That time we were so close we could actually see the hotel when she started puking.:headache:)

:lovestruc She said it a few times before I started recording. It was only as I picked up my phone to record that she did what she did. It was still cute though. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to see all your bows on your little princess!
I didn't always get a good shot of them but they were pretty stinking cute! ::yes::

I'm afraid to even guess about dinner...8:30?
:rolleyes1

Oh, I'm so sorry about your daughter getting so sick in the car! :( I'm looking forward to more updates!
My mom would say that it was Parental Karma. ::yes:: Excited to have you reading along! :wave2:

Excited to be reading along ...
Excited to have you reading along! :wave2:

I'm guessing 1900 PF with arrival time of 7:15
:rolleyes1

Sorry about the car sickness!
My mom would say that it was Parental Karma. ::yes::

A full tummy actually helps mine, but I can't try to read in the car or I am toast!
Little miss and I are the same. I really should have known better than to let her have a sticker book in the car. Next time it won't even be an entertainment option.

And throw up on car seats (and Lambies) is the worst!
::yes:: We are considering lining her seat with puppy pads for our next trip. If she pukes just pull it up and put a new one down! :thumbsup2 Though this is an untested theory at the moment.

I hope it was 1900 PF and you have a good review to report...we are headed there in 3 weeks!
:rolleyes1

Prepare yourselves for a picture overload! And yes I narrowed things down to get this many. I had more than double when I started! :rotfl2:

Monorails and Magical Meals… Day 1 part 3

So I last left you as we were getting on the Monorail at Epcot headed to dinner.

Once we got to the TTC we got off and had to switch to the Resort Line. Another 15ish minutes later we were FINALLY on our way to the Grand Floridian.

When we got there the band was playing and let to the following sweet moment. (And for those keeping track my happy cry count for the day was currently at about 5 or 6)

For those that hadn’t guessed yet we were on our way to Dinner at 1900 Parke Fare. We finally made it to the check in desk at 7:08pm. After checking in they had us get our Picture and then sent us to wait in the Lobby with our Pager.

Soon enough our pager was going off and we were led to our table.

I warn you now. DH and I weren’t always great about getting food pictures this trip. With a two year old that just ended up going out the window, but I will be sure to share what we did get.

We were quickly sat and while we were waiting for our server to come by they announced Cinderella into the room and we quickly found out two things.

20150506_192923_zps5fd4b8mf.jpg

1) Little Miss is a total fan girl for Cinderella. Her whole body shook and her knees gave out when Little Miss saw her.

2) Letting Little Miss sit in the easy access spot was totally NOT going to work and to prevent her from charging at Cinderella we had to move her to the booth with DH. Even still he had to physically restrain her a few times.

Our server came by and explained the flow of the characters and where they will be when they are getting close to us and got our drink order and sent us on our way. I quickly jumped up and got a plate started for me and Little Miss and then sent DH. The food was quite good. I particularly LOVED the Strawberry Soup and the Carving station. Before we knew it the characters started arriving.

First up was Cinderella.

Little Miss was in love instantly. It was such a sweet Meet and Greet. As she walked away DH and I looked at each other and said, “Our whole trip was worth it for that moment alone.”

Next up was Prince Charming. And if I’m honest he was kind of a dud. Little Miss didn’t care much for him and his character interaction was somewhat flat. Not that there was anything particularly wrong with his meet but there just wasn’t much to it. All he talked about was how he liked the color red.

20150506_200642_zpsxdlzn8pw.jpg

The next character is where the fun REALLY began. Those who followed my PTR will remember that I made Little Miss an autograph book on Shutterfly. When Drizella came to the table and picked up the book to sign it she saw the picture of her and Anastasia next to their sign spots. Well, Drizella decided that Anastasia’s picture had something missing. She then proceeded to draw on glasses, a mustache and chin hair. She had our table and the tables near us cackling with her commentary as she did this. We all loved it.

20150506_201310_zpsvvbhcott.jpg

20150506_201324_zpsqoiihnmy.jpg

Next to the table came Lady Tremaine. We talked a bit about getting Little Miss to do the chores and then she went to sign the autograph book, and well, it’s best to let the video speak for itself. :rotfl:

Once again the tables around us were enjoying our meet and greet just as much as we were. Definitely a highlight of the trip! ::yes::

Last to us came Anastasia. And while she didn’t give a big reaction to the “enhancements” Drizella added she did add her own to Drizella’s picture. She then jumped and bounced around with Little Miss that most of the pictures are slightly blurry.

20150506_202821_zpsufghucfd.jpg

20150506_202922_zpszdkq2t4l.jpg

After that we finished up our meal and left quite full and happy. It was the perfect way to start off our trip and it made DH and I excited for future Meet and Greets. If this was how she reacted to Cinderella, we couldn’t WAIT till she met her Favorite characters!

We decided to take the boat over to MK to catch a bus since we took the monorail to GF. On our way out to the dock we stopped for another picture and enjoyed looking around GF a bit. I told DH he had to get on that whole winning the lotto thing. I think the GF has made it to my want to stay here sometime list.

20150506_205640_zpsfut0a1pk.jpg

As we approached the dock we saw the electrical water pageant finishing up over at the Poly. We went over to see it and ended up having a sweet moment. This is when Little Miss got her first glimpse of Cinderella’s castle. Her face lit up in amazement and then said, “ That’s… Mommy is that?... Cinrera’s Castle!” She just couldn’t believe her eyes.

20150506_210258_zpsf56ry7ie.jpg

The boat ride was uneventful and quite pleasant. The bus we ended up grabbing back wasn’t that crowded and as we were getting on the bus driver looked at Little Miss and said, “Hello Princess!” and Little Miss just beamed! She loved all the people calling out to her and greeting her and calling her princess. As we were getting off the bus the bus driver pulled out a box of rings plastic rings and gave one to Little Miss. She gave the biggest smile and showed that thing off!

We stopped into the food court in hopes of finding me a pastry for the morning since I really wasn’t supposed to eat sharp crunchy stuff and I really was hoping to avoid soggy cereal for breakfast. Unfortunately they didn’t have any but we were able to grab some milk and oj and while we were checking out a cm saw Little Miss and her Ring and said that she needed a necklace to go with it and gave her some mardi gras beads. She LOVED This!!!

On our way back to the room we passed a group of college age kids and one of the guys saw Little Miss and made a big show of exclaiming that they were passing royalty and as we passed gave Little Miss a dramatic bow and said “Good evening your majesty!” It really was too cute for words!

We got ourselves back to the room and Little Miss was thrilled with her welcome gift but was too tired to really react much to it. We had plans to attempt EMH Rope Drop for the morning and we would need our sleep.

It still blows my mind that a day that started so rough ended in so much magic that none of the yucky stuff mattered. What a way to kick off the trip.

*Bonus Question time!*

~Do we make Rope Drop the next morning and if so Do we get to see the welcome show?
