“Dreams Come True Momma!” A 2 year old’s first trip ~ May 2015~Complete {NEW TR LINK!}

That cake looks incredible!! And don't feel bad about your reaction....it's so hard to stay calm with an unreasonable toddler!! They usually forget pretty quick and eventually snap out of it!

Sorry about the incident in the parking lot.
Bound to happen sometime right? The fact that I made it basically 3 years without it says something.

The new idea for Rapunzel's tower looks like it should work out well! Good luck!
Not bad for using what I already had right?

What Andy said. Sorry to hear about the parking lot scene but that cake looks like it's shaping up well!
:thanks:

Good luck with the cake!
:thanks:

Oh no...gotta love those public meltdowns!!
Indeed! ::yes::

They are so awful when you are living them...but can be funny later.
Yah this isn't one of those times. But it was bound to happen eventually right?

Sometimes...If I could avoid losing my temper...when my kids did stuff like that...I'd try to take a picture....it actually worked a couple times if they could stop losing their minds long enough to question what I was doing lol. But...in a crowded parking lot...maybe notsomuch...glad you recovered!!
This was not one of those meltdowns to document. From between trying to keep the balloons from flying away to Keeping little miss from getting run over to actually pinning her down so I could get her in her seat, to being bitten while actually putting her in her seat. To the fact that it was STINKIN HOT with heat warnings and we were doing this in a car. It was bad. But at least I got through it right?

I have to come out of lurkdom to say I have been there with the public meltdowns. I had to physically pull my 8-year old son out of the pool during swim lessons not too long ago because he got out of the pool so he could jump in backwards. On his sister's head. The biting and readjusting and kicking and screaming were awesome to experience. On the plus side, I kept my cool and didn't start screaming (even though I wanted to!). And someone was nice enough to help me get to the changing room when the lesson was over. I feel your pain, is what I'm trying to say!
 Thank you. They are never fun. At least I got through it and was able to put it behind me.

I love the pictures of little miss on Main Street.
They are some of my favorites.

It's a small world really does something for the little ones, my 5 year old asked me constantly to go on it :faint:.
Yeah Little MIss wasn't quite that bad but 2-3 times a trip is about all I can take of that ride.

That cake looks awesome! Good job
:thanks:

I wish I was as good in the bakery department,
I'm just learning. Its really not that hard it's all in having the correct tools and being able to think on your feet and problem solve.

my little one is getting store bought for his birthday on Monday :rolleyes1
Little MIss and your DS are Birthday buddies then! Her actual bday is monday. Once you start making your own frosting (really not hard. Cream cheese, splash of vanilla, powdered sugar, small splash of milk) you find that cheap cakes don't taste as good any more.

Sorry about the meltdown I feel your pain but hey on the bright side you made it almost three years before experiencing it :thumbsup2.
Indeed!

For Plan D, E or F or whatever it is, I think the cake turned out great.
Not bad for using what I already had right?

Wow your cake came out so... Beautiful!!
Not bad for using what I already had right?

You did a great job, and should be proud!!
:thanks:

I wish I had just an ounce of creativity, it's so special and a wonderful memory to take the time to make your daughters birthday cake. I had an aunt that always made my birthday cakes when I was little, I have these special memories now. As your daughter will have too!!
Its really not that hard it's all in having the correct tools and being able to think on your feet and problem solve. My Mom used to make my cakes and it has always been a special memory for me. I'm glad I can learn how to do it myself and do things like this for my daughter.

Have a great time tomorrow with beautiful Little Miss!!!
:thanks:

Might be getting in a little late but your playlist looks great!
:thanks:

That Nick Pitera (you have one of his videos listed) has a lot of Disney themed on his channel, one of the best ones is "One Man Disney Movie."
:scratchin

That cake looks great!

That cake is amazing! And it looks delicious!

Sorry about the meltdown in the parking lot. Whenever I see a mom in a situation with a child I never judge because they happen to the best of moms. I smile hoping the mom who looks at me in desperation that my smile means we can all relate.
The amazing thing was that while it got quite a bit of attention I didn't feel that anyone was judging me.

Your cake is super cute. Hope she had "the best day ever".

Indeed. It also helps to remember that I don't think I know a single person who wouldn't crack in that situation when put with the combined stress of everything else I'm dealing with.

I agree! I think the cake looks great! I can't believe the height you got on that tower!

Yeah well......... about that....... I woke up this morning and the tower had crumbled apart. Recovery has made the morning.... FUN :crazy2::scared::headache::mad::sad: I'm in the process of redoing the tower now.

So sorry about the tantrum. I can see Izzy feeling the same way about those balloons - she loves balloons! You did a great job with the cake! :cake: That tower is super cool! Happy birthday, Little Miss! :bday:

Oh no I'm so.. Sorry. I'm sure with your resourcefulness it all worked out well!!! Can't wait till hear how little misses birthday went, I'm sure it was a success!!

Thoughts and prayers for strength for the week ahead are requested. While I am doing my best to be happy and joyful for my daughter's birthday today, any week that starts off with the sad and harsh reality that the period from hell a few weeks ago felt very much like childbirth because it was actually a miscarriage (Turns out I must have brought home an extra souvenir from Disney and didn't know it till it was too late, IE, I figured it out yesterday) and also includes a memorial service for a dear loved one (My grandmother's memorial is on Wednesday) is bound to be a rough week. I'll update when I can if for no other reason that I will just need the happy when I can get it. Especially because all that is running through my mind today is how magical that pregnancy would have been.

So sorry for your losses. Hugs!
All the best to you and your family this week.

The cake looks amazing BTW! You must have spent a lot of time on it!

Oh no. I'm so sorry. That must be really hard and the timing is terrible. Rough week I'm sure. I hope you can get through it as smoothly as possible and your little one will provide some joy and respite from the hard stuff.

I'm really sorry for the rough week you're having. DW had a miscarriage before we had DS and she had a really hard time with it. Better days will come, and just take some comfort in the fact that you have Little Miss to bring you joy.

You know... at least in those moments when she's not having a meltdown in the parking lot.
