»»June 16, 2012 Father's Day Cruise on the Fantasy!««

I know Susie!!

That sounds like a great cake..hopefully it's tasty (sadly I've heard mixed reviews on the Bride's Disboard). The top is vanilla bean butter cake and the bottom is milk chocolate caramel ganache...

I've already bought my dress...it's a cocktail dress and the funny thing is that I found out that we're getting married on the first day at sea, which coincides apparently with the Formal night. So while people will probably be wearing long gowns, I "the Bride" will be wearing a simple cocktail dress... I hope I won't look too out of place! hehe...

OK. Tonight I'm setting up a Facebook account! I've been holding off for years but I really want to know more about all of you!!

do I need a special link? Let me know. tonight's the night! I'm going rogue!! pirate:

I think most of the women are wearing cocktail dresses (including me!), I seen very few couples with long dresses and tuxedos. You'll be perfect.

Good to know! While I stand on my own, I still don't like to look like a fish out of a fishbowl....

Btw, which tour did everybody book with Bernard on St-Martin? I checked his website, and wanted to make sure we booked the same tour...

thank you so much for everybody's kind help here!! This all make our trip super extra special!!pixiedust:

I believe you just sign up for the group tour. It's a standard tour they do, but I have a feeling since we'll pretty much fill a bus or two with just our DIS group, we'll all be able to enjoy the sites together. As we get closer, someone can check in with them and let them know we're all from the same group and maybe get a better rate!?

As for facebook, welcome to the dark side!!!! :rotfl: Click on the facebook link on the first page of this thread to get into our "exclusive" club. Many of us are there and post all the time, alot of good links and videos we see get posted.

Steve will hook you up once you set up an account.

And lastly, if you need someone to taste test your wedding cake, I'll bite the bullet and help you out on that... :thumbsup2

OK, that cake is beautiful!!! There is a lot more out there since we got married in 2005. In fact, just had memories today as we went to MK for a few hours and took the monorail to the Poly for dinner at 'Ohana. Love passing the wedding pavilion.

In 2005, the cake was awful. Truly awful. We threw most of the leftovers away. I am sure that there will be improvements made in 7 years!! However, how easy was it to have Disney Fairytale Weddings do everything for you, right???

I am not on Face Book, so don't forget about those of us that are just here!!!

No worries Silver! So far, learning the intricacies of FB are worst than getting used to a new car!

I too was told to carefully manage my expectations re: cake. Many said it was a hit or miss. However there were some flavors to really avoid: apparently they don't do lemon too well....

It was really easy with the Disney Fairy Tale folks: very nice, knowledgeable. However, there is little they can do as soon as you try to deviate a bit from the "script:" for our wedding dinner, we have decided to do Remy vs Palo (which is included in our wedding costs). I told the coordinator that I fully understood there would be additional costs, and was ok with this. Well, the Wedding coordinator can't book Remy for us, we have to do it as usual, i.e. jokeying with the rest of the passengers either via the website or through our travel agent (we booked with DCL directly this time). You'd think that if they can book Palo, it wouldn't be too much of hassle to do the exact steps, except doing it with Remy instead. :sad2:

So on Feb 16th I will be staying up 'til midnight to make sure I can score a dinner slot for Remy, and we will probably do our Palo dinner on the evening of the last day at sea (part of our Wedding package is that our reservation window opens at 120 days, as if we were Platinum or Concierge).

We are cancelling this cruise. With the move to TX, it was just not the right timing and too much money to fly to Florida. Hope y'all have a great time, and please feel free to start a new thread so somebody else can manage the roll call.

OHH NOO! So sad to see you go! Understand though, considering the major move. Hopefully, we'll get to travel with you another time, maybe out of Galveston! Best of luck to your family!:grouphug:

We are very sorry to see you leave us. It was great to have you here while you could. I understand completely about situations that can get in the way of just a vacation, I just hope you'll be able to enjoy one later this year once things settle down. Take care and good luck to you all!

Sorry to see Triplefigs go. She did an excellent job.

Anyway, should someone start a new thread please add our family. We never join the meet world as these are always family vacations BUT my DD will be 14 this cruise and I'm sure we can't hold her to the "family time 100% of the time" rule.

There are 4 of us. Dave, Beth (Mary Kate's Mom) Mary Kate 14 and Trish 12. This will be MK's first trip in the Teen section so if anyone has younger teen girls I would like to send MK on the teen excursion on CC and Trish can't go. Probably all the more reason for her to WANT to go.

This trip is celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary, Mary Kate's Confirmation and her 8th grade graduation from our local parochial school. She'd been in the same building for 8 years and it is a pretty big event.

That is why we are coming on this cruise. I've known for years that I was going to have a hard time with my baby growing up and going to high school.

I just had her friend the facebook group since I do not have an account on facebook. She wouldn't have one either BUT she's smart and asked her father "Dr. Oblivious".

Maybe we can just continue to use this thread...might be less confusing for everyone....it is getting to be crunch time...wohooo:cool1:

Instead of creating a new thread we can use this post to keep the roll call updated. I will PM TripleFigs and ask her to update her post to link to this one.
