We're leaving in 20 days for Thanksgiving cruise on the Wonder. Come with!!:thumbsup2 I thought the kids could finish up the school year where they are? What happened to that plan?:confused3
His bosses said they needed him in Dallas now, and with the way the economy is, you can't really say no to a great offer. We sold our house in 8 days, have purchased a new house, and the kids are enrolled in school. Working on a job for me, and of course all the stressful things that keep popping up/going wrong with a long-distance holiday move...

Wow - triplefigs, you are so organized! :worship:

Just popping in to say I'm going on this cruise with my family (mostly)

No idea if my mother (Cmash95 on here) popped in but I see she is on the Facebook group

My name is Robert Ashburn.

Got home 2 days ago from our Thanksgiving Wonder cruise. Hard to come back on a Sunday then go back to work/school on Monday. Now the excitement will build for the Fantasy in June. We heard some of the staff and crew will be moving to the Fantasy. Haven't even looked into airfares or hotels yet. I feel a panic coming on!:sad2:

Thanks... Though I actually Live in orlando now. I rarely visit Disboards that I must have forgot to change it, when i moved in jan 09 :lmao: Rest of the family still lives in Tampa though, and I visit so much (college student, needs help studying from time to time) my old room has been reclaimed by me after 6 months of someone else living there:lmao:

Shhhhhhhhhh.....it's a secret.
I've been lurking, and careful not to post about this cruise for fear my kids would see, but I CAN"T STAND IT anymore! :rotfl2: They don't lurk on disboards, but they are on Facebook. If I join the group on Facebook, will they see that I've joined that group since they are my "facebook friends"?

We booked almost a year ago, and planned on completely suprising the kids the day we left, but my dh and I can't hold in the excitement any longer. We are trying to come up with a clever way to tell them at Christmas.

This is our third Disney cruise. We took a western on the Magic in Feb. 2005 and a heavenly Thanksgiving cruise on the Magic in 2007, also a western.

Our crew will be myself (43), DH (44), DS (18), DD (16), DS (15), DD (12), and my MIL.

A little worried that my oldest may be a little lost. He will have just graduated highschool, and may feel too old for the kids clubs, but too young for the adult things. I am hoping there will be a lot of kids in his age group there. He had an absolute blast in 2007, and still talks to some friends he made on that cruise.

We are sooooooo excited. I hate to wish the next few months away, but we can't wait!

Welcome fellow Ohioan. It's great to have you join us. There seem to be quite a few kids in the teen/tween age group going.

I honestly don't know how you have been able to keep it a secret all this time. I am very impressed :)

:welcome: I know exactly how you feel. DH and I managed to keep our November 2009 cruise secret from our girls for 18 months! In retrospect, I have no idea how we managed it. We finally told them as we were driving across the causeway into Port Canaveral and could see the Magic in the distance.

Looking forward to cruising with you and your gang.

Hope someone had advice for me. My daughter and I have Premium annual passes for DLR. Mine expires in March, hers expires in Mid July. If we are planning to spend a few days at WDW, would it pay for us to upgrade to a Premiere AP (currently $250 MORE than the Premium)? Also, since her pass expires about 3 weeks later than we plan to go, we don't want to upgrade the pass, just to have it expire a few weeks later. Is there a way to work it out, or should we just get a Stay & Play package? Thanks!

Welcome and glad to have you aboard for this cruise!

I believe the facebook group is private, I don't believe they will see you joined unless you are invited, maybe Steve would know for sure.

Also our kids are a little younger, and we can keep secrets from them better, but we still don't even plan on telling them until we get to the boat. I'll have to come up with some sort of alternate story as to why we're flying to FL :rotfl: We just keep telling the kids that they need to save every single coin they can find so that we can afford the Mickey Boat. It's actually funny they raid every family member's couch cushion and car for spare change to help pay for another trip :)

Yes our facebook group is private, but I am not sure that once you are joined up if anyone is able to see that you have joined the group. They of course can't see what we post or anything like that unless they ae a member. I know that part for sure.

Just wanted to pop in and say hello to everyone and :welcome: to our newest cruisers! Happy to have you aboard with us!

Things are crazy busy here, trying to make it across the finish line for the semester (2 more days!) before being on Christmas Break, finishing last-minute Christmas shopping, and making plans for our Spring Break vacation to CO for skiing.

We're getting close to the float out and then pretty soon we'll start getting TRs. :) Who here has the highest classification and therefore gets to make their reservations the earliest? We've only got 1 DCL cruise under our belt, so I think we're at 90 days. Reading the thread on the main board about no reservations available for anything at Palo for the MV makes me a little nervous. Although I know we won't have such a crazy time, since we're so far out from the MV.

Off for the moment to try to clean some more and then write a midterm exam for tomorrow. :surfweb: Wish me luck!

Greetings everyone. Sorry for being away for so long. Life has been busy.

Ironically, I had been looking at Bernard's Tours and was going to ask if anyone was interested. I just sent a reservation request to Bernard. It looks to be a great day.

We had a great excursion last time we were in St. Thomas. I don't know if we want to try to recreate it, or if we will try something new.

So what is happening with us -

The second week of December, DD14 had her first gymnastics meet of the season competing as a Level 7, which was our home meet. I play the floor music and do all the announcing and awards. Proud daddy moment - she got a 9.60 on vault (and had a minor step on her landing). She did well in all her events, 4th place AA in her age division.

We took advantage of school vacation and breaks from DD14 gymnastics and DD16 dance, and did a quick trip to Myrtle Beach last week. It is amazing how little that area tries to get in the spirit of Christmas. I think if they tried some, they could generate a lot more business. During the days, we had a great time, going shopping, Magiquest, Wonder Works, eating out and more shopping. We went to the indoor pool, hot tub and lazy river each night.

We returned home on Thursday, and Christmas was just our immediate family. Last year, we were on Disney's 11 Night Southern Caribbean cruise, so it was nice to be home this year.

DD16 had her wisdom teeth out today. She was a little loopy while the anesthesia wore off. We video'd it, and will probably post the highlights to FB. Next few days will not be much of anything.

New Year's Eve we will go to a neighbor's house. I definitely enjoy not driving that night.

Hope everyone had a great Christmas or are enjoying Hanukkah.

Sorry for the long post; I just feel guilty about not posting in awhile. I will try to do better. :goodvibes

Hello Everyone!

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season. Life here has been busy as with everyone else. We had a truly BROWN Christmas here in the MN/WI area. Amazing how it can actually put a damper on the holidays in how it really never felt like Christmas to so many because we didn't have any snow on the ground. Just a few inches would have been ok. Our warmer temps are also preventing the oldest from having ice hockey practice and games are scheduled in the next few weeks without much ice or good ice. (We are a "poor" association and play old school hockey.... outside no matter what the temperatures are ~ including -20 below w/COLD windchills to go!) Yet, I am loving the freed up time without much hockey!

So, I also need to let you know that with heavy hearts in our house, we are needing to cancel the June 2012 cruise. :sad1: We have moved our date to Oct. 2013 and hope it works out for us. I even had our FE gifts accruing and started the homemade aspects of them too. Now, what will I do with all of them? :confused3 Beacause as of now, NO ONE is signed up for the week that we are going. :sad2: Anyone want to join us? 10/05/13 Eastern Carr. on Fantasy...

I think I am having a tougher time with this need to cancel since I am the one making all of the connections to others. And so many MN people going, it was even cooler to have even more connections on that front.

But, can I still stay on this meet thread and FB so I can "tag along" with all of you and live vicariously through you? You are like family ...:grouphug: and I would love to know about the trip and such. Hope so... :)

Sorry for the long post... but HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012! :cheer2:

Oh no. I am so, so sorry to hear that you won't be joining us. Hopefully on a future cruise we can meet up.
