There's been talk about a Rock and Roll theme park in Eloy, which is about halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. But I honestly do not know who would come to this part of AZ in the summer. I mean I go from my air-conditioned house to my air-conditioned car to my air-conditioned place of employment. Or to a pool or another air-conditioned building. The heat just blasts you.

Dang, I have been to Eloy to Skydive, but there isn't much out there. . .lol

That would be me, a constant cycle of A/C throughout the day!!

Bummer (ha ha) about you not seeing the MGM theme park, the log ride was it's only saving grace and even that was sad!!!

No there is not. It is only a 90-minute drive to Phoenix from my house but it feels like forever because there is NOTHING.

Well I take that back, you can stop at the date farms and get a date shake (which I have heard are good). Or you could stop and see The Thing http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/2023

Yep, you can get date shakes where I used to live (think Indio area)

Don't think I'll stay in Henderson, or Vegas for that matter, very long. . .I have been living in "some" desert since 03 and I cant take it anymore . . .I miss my beaches. . .

I used to live in Phoenix and Lake Havasu so I feel your pain. It wasn't unlikely to have summer temps in the 120's in Havasu, downright scary HOT!

But you see, I never used to "drive" to the beach. . .I could see the ocean from my apartment. . .I lived in Redondo and with the new buildout of the freeway at Disneyland resort, it would only take me 20 minutes to get there. Loved that. . .

I used to love Lake Havasu, we went when I was a kid before it was overrun with Spring Breakers. I loved that little english town by the London Bridge. One of my fondest memories is me and my brother ramming a paddle boat into the London Bridge because we were fighting over who could steer. We thought we were going to get into so much trouble!!

Its still pretty quiet. Was there not too long ago. . .probably this time last summer. . .as with all desert towns its empty in the summer after all the snow birds go home. . .

I know, it so tempting but I really don't think I can afford it. I am trying to save all vacation funds for our big WDW trip next May. Plus with my DBF possibly going to New Zealand this year and me POSSIBLY going out there I know I will need money for that.
