Thanks Mel...we haven't had any rain in about 6 weeks and we are going into our really hot part of the summer...yikes!!

I even dread getting in my pool these days, not too refreshing. Good thing I only have another week and a half, then I'm off for 5 weeks...yipppppppppeeeeeeee

Off to the world I go...:cool1:

Hey Leo, how's it going?? Any plans for Aug?? :rolleyes1

Patty my girl. . .Maybe you need to add a cooling element to the pool. . .lol. Off to the world soon . .WOO HOO. . .

:offtopic: Going a bit OT with a question to you medical professionals, here... Some weeks ago, I got recertified for CPR by the local chapter of the Red Cross. The very next day I was talking with a medical doctor who advised that it was more effective to apply 100 compressions per minute w/o rescue breaths, than to apply 30 compressions followed by 2 rescue breaths x 3 per minute. What do you folks think? To use rescue breaths or not to use rescue breaths? TIA.

Bill, most of the medical profession now follows the American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines rather than the American Red Cross. The AHA recommends 100 compressions before ever giving a rescue breath and that the outcomes are MUCH better when you don't stop compressions for rescue breathing. Compressions keep the heart muscle circulating the blood throughout the system which in turn will provide oxygen to the brain without the breaths. . .and the speed of the compressions should be about 80 to 100 per minute. . .think of the song "Stayin Alive" while doing compressions. . .

Hi everybody! Thanks for the well wishes! I can't wait to hit the World in August!!! I hope everyone is behaving themselves!!!

Okay peeps I realize it was Monday and now Tuesday but dang, stop being sooooooooooo slow. . .I know there are a few of you posting on other threads. . .and not necessarily singles threads. . .so at least stop by and say hello.

Dang, that almost sounded desperate. .lol. I just hate to see this thread die out. . .

Hiya guys...hope everyone is well. Hot and humid here in Tucson as is normal for this time of year. :)

Wow, that's good to know since I had the Red Cross Training when I was teaching swim lessons. Love the song reference though, Darcy!! :rotfl:

Kinda glad to not be teaching them anymore, although the last few years when I did private lessons, it was great!!!

One more day till I go see my DIS friend in Merced!! :cool1: :cheer2:

Yep we are in the same boat. Every summer I think "why do I stay here?"...than September comes and it gets really nice and I remember why :)

Well, it wouldn't be so bad if I had a theme park to go to. . .lol. Not really into Gambling and that is really the ONLY theme park here. . .lol

I agree, this is the worst part!! The best is yet to come, I love fall in Vegas, but winter is even better!! There's nothing like shorts in December!!!

But I do miss Wet N Wild all the time!

hmm good point...doesn't it kill you being this close yet so far away from a decent park?

Doesn't the MGM have a theme park...or is that no longer open?

Lol. . .the song thing wasn't my idea. . .When we do our recerts they always play the song and have us time our compressions to that. . .makes the class fun. . .

With all the kids out here you would think we could support a seasonal water park. . .lol, but it does get kinda cold here in the winter. . .lol. . .it always feels funny saying that when its 100 degrees out side. . .

Things are going ok...:)
As for Aug...well, things are still "in the works"...

Hey~! Just wanted to say, love your name. It was my Grandpa's name and is now also my son's middle name!!

Okay, since I am new here (again), what is in the works exactly?

Andrea

LOL we were thinking the same thing!!

I take it you have been there then? Only those who have tuly experienced it can understand my pain!! :lmao:

I know, it was only the fact that it was on a piece of PRIME strip property that they didn't own, they only leased it all those years!!! Season passes were like $55, it was fabulous!! But I digress. They are rumored to have bought land over here in Henderson with a possible opening in 2011 or so. I really really hope so!

No I never have, but when I was still married we stayed at the MGM right after it opened and me being a lover of theme parks kept bugging my ex-husband to go over with me. Him being a lover of gambling means it never happened. But I heard it wasn't that great.

Don't think I'll stay in Henderson, or Vegas for that matter, very long. . .I have been living in "some" desert since 03 and I cant take it anymore . . .I miss my beaches. . .

There's been talk about a Rock and Roll theme park in Eloy, which is about halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. But I honestly do not know who would come to this part of AZ in the summer. I mean I go from my air-conditioned house to my air-conditioned car to my air-conditioned place of employment. Or to a pool or another air-conditioned building. The heat just blasts you.
