...I have been more correct than anyone else on this board...

Not for nothing, but seemingly self important statements like this might well be just the sort of thing that's causing those reactions. Just a little food for thought.....

THANK YOU,

Whilst I know a few are enjoying this moent I have always tried my best to help and assist everyone, I have been more correct than anyone else on this board, and still have a good track record, This is getting quite personal now, and I do not appreciate that. Its always been my intension to help everyone.

I am really glad you appreciated it!! :sad1:

Yes it is and I apologize if it has gotten personal. Please read over YOUR last post where it says you have been been correct more than anyone on here and maybe this is the reason for the sarcasm. We on here who do not post very often appreciate your knowledge about the ships and your helpfulness but sometimes a little humility goes a long way.......................:wizard::wizard::wizard:

The unveiling of Disney Dream,
October 29, 2009.

This was from the castaway newsletter. It is 2009 NOT 2010! i believe it said it would be a video we can all watch.

Who else said Europe? No one!!! Who got the Dream date right to 4 weeks! The booking window???

I am really glad you appreciated it!! :sad1:

I, myself always have looked forward to all your posts and how we all try to come up with where DCL will be heading. Keep up the good work and look forward to guessing with you again in the future:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I think we broke the cruiseline website.

The Disney Cruise Line® website is currently experiencing technical difficulties. We expect to have the situation resolved soon, so please check back with us at a later time.

If you need to speak to someone regarding a Disney Cruise Line vacation, you may call a Disney representative at 800-511-1333.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience.

We'd love, love, love to go to Alaska but there is no way I'm flying all the way out there from PA with 3 kids...maybe for our 20 the wedding anniversary we'll go w/o the kids...sigh...that's only 7 years away-lol!

What are you complaining about? On my cruise we flew all the way from Seattle to Orlando - farther than PA to YVR. And there were a lot of people who flew even further from Europe and Australia to sail on the Magic! It's really not that hard to fly with kids, says the guy who has flown DS7 across the country four times starting when he was one year old!

How exciting is Alaska? We have been waiting to cruise to AK in hopes that Disney would announce this.

Spoke to our travel agent and she had two things to mention that were interesting...

First, she said that because of the Tuesday embarkation days, the ports will not be as busy as the traditional days. Apparently, most cruise lines leave Fri, Sat, or Sun. Woohoo! I was glad to hear this.

Also, she said that the staterooms were going to be recategorized for 2011 to fall more closely in line the with new ships. It will be interesting to find out where the SPH rooms fall and how they will break up the other categories.

This is like a dream come true. Would have been even better out of Seattle, but that is okay. We are booking September 21st, for the July 26th sailing to AK.

We and others have most likely crashed the website with all the looking we are all doing :lmao:

I just want prices... I tell you prices...so when will they be coming out with those, anyone know????

"I'm incredibly sad by this announcement! We have been longing to try a 7-night Caribbean cruise after our first 4-night try last year. Guess what Disney . . . you're not forcing me to take kids out of school to accommodate you, so I'll be happy to have my deposits back and give them to another line who will take me for 7 nights to the Caribbean IN THE SUMMER! "

You'll have the new ship.

Nope! It seems a LOT of people MISINTERPRETED the comments today. We were told in 2011 there would be 3, 4, 5, and 7 night sailings from Port Canaveral. We were never told the new ship would do all those itineraries!

Looking at the schedule, you will confirm I have the correct interpretation - there are no seven night sailings scheduled while the Magic is in Europe. If Thistle wants a 7 night Caribbean it will have to be during the school year or not sooner than 2012. And even then we parents can only hope that both new ships will spend that summer sailing out of Florida!

On the wonder a few weeks ago, a server said they were going to Alaska and that they are going to cover the pools in the upcoming drydock.

The adult pool looks easy to cover.

The goofy pool would be harder, can you see the Arielvision screen with a cover? If covered, I suspect that it would be retractable.

The mickey pool has the slide to deal with. I can see them enclosing the upper portion of the slide and slide entrance. But then again, I suspect kids will be happy in a pool no matter how cold it is outside.

In any case, we may see these changes in the next month.

I would also expect their design to be based on what they might be doing with the new ships (which appear to me in the initial artwork that some of the pool area is covered).

We do Seattle to Orlando a lot - its not a big deal. Usually I can get super cheap air with southwest that has one stop or plane change - not a big deal for me. I like the break in the middle of the flight too - get off and stretch my legs!
I can usually get $79-$119 one way.

I'm outta the loop - did they release Caribbean dates for 2011 (Summer - July or August) - I get it the Magic is doing the Mediterranean but did they announce dates for the Dream or no?

Exactly. It's like is someone posting information to actually be helpful or just so they can publicly pat them self on the back at a later date? All this "I called it first", "I got it right more than you!" sounds like what I hear coming from the backseat of my car.

Maybe it is going to be the model of the ship? They would have to release some sort of floor/deck plans before you could decide where to book your room afterall. :)

You'll have the new ship.

If the Dream is doing the 7 night cruises will it also be doing 4 night cruises? I've been reading all the posts since I got home from work (it's 7.20 in the evening here) I understand that the itinereary for the Dream is to be announced at the end of October but won't Disney be offering 3 and 4 night cruises all year round then? I was banking on doing a 4 night cruise to Nassau/CC in June 2011.

As some have discovered from the DCL site and as was confirmed on the Passporter site, there are no 7 night Caribbean cruises in summer 2011 -- only 3, 4, and 5 night cruises on the Dream. VERY disappointing for those of us hoping to cruise with kids in the summer for a full week (and longing to return to St. John where I honeymooned!) Guess another line will have to take me there!

I though the new CC benefits were effective 10/1 making this a non-issue.

Did I read it wrong

1. Any news on the dates and itinerary for the 2011:
  • 6 day LA to Vancouver repo?
  • EB TA from PC to Barcelona repo?
2. Does it look like the Dream will only be doing shorter cruises (3/4/5 nights) for the Summer 2011 while the Magic is in the Med? ETA: just saw my answer above. Very disappointed as we wanted a 7 night Caribbean.

3. Can ALL 2011 cruises be booked on Sept 28 (earlier for CC members), or just the Alaska ones?

Thanks!

any info on the sailing dates for the Dream for Summer 2011 or when you could begin booking...being that I'm a lowly Silver CC member...I may get the short end of the stick..;)

On the wonder a few weeks ago, a server said they were going to Alaska and that they are going to cover the pools in the upcoming drydock.

I'm not sure how I feel about this... We'll be on the Wonder in November, just a few weeks after she comes out of drydock. Part of the thrill for us Northerners is "flying South" when the temperature up here drops. I remember how wonderful it felt to sit out by the pool in the warm Florida sun this past February. I don't know how the atmosphere would be quite the same under a dome... Hopefully these covers will be retractable!

Per the CC newsletter this afternoon.

Someone has already reported that they were able to book at 91 days this afternoon instead of the 90 day mark for their cruise.
