ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

Well, I must now bow out of the May group and join the June group!!! The school has revised his schedule and now instead of graduating on May 23, he graduates May 30th!!!!! Guess we won't be leaving for Disney until June 2nd!!! SO BUMMED!!! Goodbye fair May group!!! Looks like we will be waiting even longer for our trip!

Thanks for the well wishes. I appreciate it. The weather was so nice this year so hoping to get a repeat next year. I am thinking of making this a nice relaxing trip and laying off the commando tour style we normally do. We really want to make it to typhoon lagoon on the day after the race and then maybe do magic kingdom for a celebatory dinner at Be Our Guest. Only time will tell. Does anyone else have adrs on the brain yet?

Yes ADR suggestions are flying around here. Its hard with three kids to hit my favorites and thiers.

Wow been a while hehe :teeth:
We have finally chosen to stay for the 1st time in the World!!!!! :cool1:
Really excited were staying 3-11 at AoA!!! :teeth:

Okay now I got 2 questions-
1. If I booked through a travel site say Orbitz do they give us a reservation # to the Disney website or do they handle everything???? If anyone ever booked from them before, how did you do it???

2. Can you get the DDP separately??? No Disney Package or anything. I know you can get resort only and tickets only but what about DDP???

AOA is awesome!!
I wish I had answers to your questions. I have never made reservations through a third party. You could try to contact Dreams Unlimited and see if they can help you out. http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

I know what you mean. We try to stick with a 50/50 ratio. We book half of ADR specifically for meet and greets and half for us grown ups hehe..

ALTHOUGH every ADR we pick for the kids we have fallen in love with, if not the food then the atmosphere. For example.

Akershus. Kids enjoy it for the princess and we loooooove the food!
Chef Mickeys (dinner) Same as above with a variety of food (buffet)
Hollywood and Vine (breakfast) - Kids love meeting the disney junior characters and we love the breakfast buffet
Be Our Guest- we all love everything about that place.
1900 park fare - both breakfast and dinner have great meet and greet for the kids and food is amazing!

I have a list of more but thats a good starting point. :groom:

We were in WDW this year for Memorial Day week and hope to do the same next year as well. Our dates are May 23 - 31 but haven't booked yet. We are looking to stay at either CBR or POFQ. This year we were at POR.

Would you choose

May 21- June 1
or
May 27 - June 7

If we go first choice, we would leave later in the morning around 10 am, after sons awards program, versus 4 am the second choice. We would also deal with Memorial Day, which when we went last time was not unmanageable. However, we would probably deal with the first SWW which we are going to either trip. The second choice is hotter, more crowded and we would have to contend with "Gay Days". Not that it is an issue, we avoid their "scheduled" park for the day, but would like to avoid awkward questions with a 9 year old.

Opinions?? Thoughts??

We were during memorial weekend as well! Im my honest opinion I would hands down pick POFQ over CBR. POFQ is so quaint and has a few more amenities. CBR is a little outdated in my opinion.

I have you added in the planning section. let me know when you have booked or made plans for one resort over the other. :thumbsup2

I'm thinking Option #1.

Reasons:
-Less crowded in the parks during the weekdays.
-Slightly better weather - Less humid than June
-No Gay Days- (like you said theres nothing wrong with it, but reasoning and explaining to our 5 year would take some time)
-SWW during the first weekend is crazy busy but, if you plan accordingly it'll work out just fine.

I'm sure you've priced it out but going to WDW before a child turns 3 is so much cheaper. We're in the same boat. If we went before DD turns 3 then we would be saving close to $900 (for a 2 week trip)

I have to added under still planning, when you have a more concrete reservation then let me know. Added :)

Of course I have priced it out :) And I think that's my #1 sticking point to support my plan right now! I'm also hoping that this will also help in getting him to see that a 10 day trip instead of our normal 7 is a good "value"! Ha ha! Thanks for adding me and as soon as I have more details I will most definitely let you know!

Most definitely do... and I don't even have an "official" trip booked yet! Ha ha! If it happens, I think my in laws are wanting to go on this trip with us so that will make the ADR planning a little more difficult. Our 1st trip was with them and then our 2nd (and last) trip was without them. It was so nice being able to make and change whatever ADR's I wanted without having to consult someone first! Maybe since my MIL knows she created a Disney monster and she's not as much of a planner as me, she'll let me control the ADR decisions... because I know she won't be disappointed with my choices!
