ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

Thanks for adding me to the list but hubby and I have decided to delay our trip till October 2014 that way we have a little time to save up some more money and hopefully we can stay at POR, which was our original choice. So if you do not mind you can remove me from the list for May. Thanks :thumbsup2

Well what we did was, got an ADR for breakfast at Hollywood and vine.. I'm not a breakfast person, but I liked it a alot. The kids get to meet Disney junior characters. THen waited till dinner and ate at ABC Commasary or Backlot express.
As you said you have to feel out the kids. One day of SWW might be enough, or they might be begging for more.

I forgot to mention, Hollywood studios also meet and greet with movie actors or voice actors for some of movies/ cartoons. For example they had James Arnold Taylor, Ashley Eckstein, Ray Park, Warwick Davis, and more..
But they only way you can get to meet them is if you come early early and line up at HS gates. once they let you in you get to stand in a line for a wrist band for meet that person. Kinda cool! But I couldnt get up that early, plus the kids dont care that much.... yet.. hehe

We are early riser and a rope drop family. Do you have more information on the wrist bands? We use to do Hollywood and Vine breakfast at 8am and then head over to TSM but now that they let everyone in early we switched our breakfast to brunch and head over to Hollywood and Vine for 11:30ish. I was thinking doing the same plan for Star Wars weekend to try to beat the crowds.

Right now we have reservations May 18-25. May 17 is my birthday so I think we are going to add a day and try out AOA LM for that night if airfare is cheaper on Saturday, May 17th. If that works out then I am thinking of doing Star Wars on May 18th and then May 24. Do they do events on Friday or just Saturday & Sunday?

My goto guy Josh over at easyWDW had a cool write up on SWW from this May with plenty of information around what to expect fastpass wise & all that good stuff. It'll give you a good sense of what's going on: http://www.easywdw.com/worth-2/star-wars-weekends-2013-strategy-characters-hoopla-crowds-merchandise-etc/

Just got back from the world a few weeks ago, which was supposed to be our once in a lifetime trip. We're now tentatively planning a trip for next May lol. Really excited to try out a hopefully less crowded and humid time of year. My boys (dh included lol) are huge Star Wars nuts so we can't wait to join in on some of those festivities and meet some new characters. Right now we're are thinking of doing Pop Century again as we had so much fun there in July. We'll be arriving on May 16 and leaving on May 24. Looking forward to chatting with everyone over the coming months.

Sounds like you are another family who fell in love with Disney. Welcome to the Club. We will be at the world the same time as you May 18-25.

Hi everyone!

My DH and I will be heading back to the World. We are planning for May 2nd - May 6th at AKL. This is going to be a quick trip to redeem ourselves in the Expedition Everest 5k challenge. I sprained my ankle in the first mile and was pulled from the course so I did not get to finish the course. So we said last year we would be back to finish what we started.

I am really excited as it was a ton of fun. Hopefully we will get room discounts like this year as that will help with costs. :cool1:

It was probably the best trip we've ever taken with the kiddos. They were asking when we were coming back before we ever left lol.

How old are your kids? Once you go on a Disney vacation, the kids set the bar very high for every vacation after that. :)

I can't remember if I've replied to this thread yet or not!! Just got back from 12 days at the World--we've been home for 3 days and we are already planning for DS's Graduation Trip in May!! Ok, truth be told, we were already planning for it BEFORE our most recent trip!! :rotfl: Tentatively planning on staying at CBR. Never been there before. Tentative dates are 5/27 - 6/8 (or 9!!). We are brand new AP holders so we don't know what kind of room only discount we may be able to get. If CBR doesn't work out, we'll go to ASMo, as that is our "home" anyway!!!

This will be our first trip where DS will be an "adult" as he turns 18 in January!! SO HARD to believe his first trip was when he was 5! He is totally hooked though!! Looking forward to planning with all of you through the coming months. The last three days have felt like an ETERNITY!!!
