ª"˜ª¤.¸Official Team May 2014 Thread!¸.¤ª˜"ª

Hey guys,

So I'm looking for some advice. We are booked for 14 nights at POFQ, and are having trouble with where to eat. 14 days means 14 QS and 14 TS.

Lets ignore the QS and focus on the TS.
So far this is our must do's

1900 Park Fare - Dinner
1900 Park Fare - Breakfast
Ohana - Dinner
Kona Grill - Dinner
Be Our Guest - Dinner
Cinderella's Castle - Dinner (2 credits)
Akershus - Dinner
Cape May - Dinner
Boma - Dinner
Chef Mickey's - Dinner
Via Napoli - Dinner

Leaving us with 2 more TS.
Any recommendations? May something else in Epcot, or other resorts.

Thank in advance for the help.

PS were also doing Ohana - Breakfast, but since it's so cheap were going to pay out of pocket. :dance3:

We've never eaten there, but we're doing The Garden Grill in Epcot because I've heard great things about it! It's also another character dinner with Chip, Dale, Mickey and Pluto so I think it would appeal to your kiddos since they're about the same age as mine :) Also, I'd love to try Teppan Edo in Epcot one day too! My DH and I's "date night" I was deciding between Teppan Edo and Via Napoli (which we've done and is awesome!)... but Via Nappoli and it's Zeppole won out! I've been dreaming of that dessert since I had it in April!!

Our last trip we booked AoA LM room, then after the discounts switched to POR Garden View Royal Guest Room. Switching only cost us an extra $150... for our 7 day stay (including dining plan and park hoppers)! So I'd be willing to bet, POR after discounts is close to AoA!

I wonder if I should just wait to book a room once discounts come out. Seems like we will be staying at POR in hopefully a Royal Guest Room. Thanks for the information.

Not to add more confusion to the mix, but we always pay OOP for CRT (lunch) and use those 2 table credits for something else. Garden Grill is an great option and Teppan Edo too for the previous post. Are you going to HS at all? SciFi or Hollywood & Vine have been favorites of our kids. For adults, we enjoy the Wave and Mama Melrose Lunch Fantasmic Package.

We always do Biergarten in Epcot. Great choices from the buffet and they have typical kids choices also. But you can't beat the desserts!

Our other favorite is Kona Cafe for breakfast (Tonga Toast :) ).

Oh another choice might be Crystal Palace which is characters (Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet). I think the characters are at all three meals so you could do any time during the day.

I officially booked today! We will be staying at AoA May 10 - 15 so you can move us from "planning" to AoA! Now just trying to figure out where to make our ADRs. Also trying to decide how to surprise the kids - wait until we're in the car on our way or give them a little gift at home after preschool graduation to tell them. So excited for our first trip!

Awesome!!! that's what we did last fall. We put DD4 in the car right around bedtime and told her were just going for a drive. She later work up around 7am in Tennessee and was super confused. that when we gave her a package to open, which had disney gear. She was excited and surprised... good times. :rotfl:

Added you to AOA

I might have to look into Garden Grill, But my argument is A) were going to see most of the characters in other dining places if not the parks, and B) there are so many awesome places at Epcot that could possibly trump Garden Grill.

Teppan Edo sounds delicious. But the question lies, will the kids hate it?

I've asked myself that same thing about Teppan Edo and the kids! Mine love Chinese food, so I don't think it would be a problem for them... and I think the Hibachi part of it would keep them entertained! Oh... you're making me want to book it! :)

Characters aside... I've heard the food is amazing at Garden Grill!

Good luck with whatever you choose! Dang Disney for having so many fantastic food options for us!

Just wanted to say thank you to the people who answered my questions not so long ago.

I'm extremely pleased to say that we have now booked our trip for next year and will be in Disney from the 8th to the 22nd of May.:banana::banana:

Yay!!! How exciting! I see you'll be staying at Pop Century... we'll be checking into Pop on the 22nd! Maybe we'll get your room! :cool1:

We will be staying at Pop May 11-16!
Our last trip was May 2011 when our twins were only 2 1/2, this time they will be 5 and tall enough to ride almost all the "big"rides! They don't know that we are going! Going to surprise them when we leave for the airport!

Ok, so I looked into OOP for CRT and man its super expensive, and average of $70 a head for adults and $40 for kids. So were looking at $210 for dinner Eeeek

I might have to stick with dinning plan for that hehe.
Scifi is hard with a 2 year old. Hollywood and Vine, is great for breakfast, but not a fan for dinner.

Oy vey..

lol, So my wife is not a fan on German food, even though she's half german (smh)
As for as Kona Cafe, I can get tonga Toast at Captain Cooks for much cheaper. And Crystal Palace is good idea but the food is pretty much equal to Chef Mickeys.

I sound so high maintenance. I swear I'm not lol.

Lunch at CRT is that much now? When I made our ADR for January we only paid $153 for my family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids). YIKES!!

Our two year old liked Sci Fi because of the movies and then he eventually took a nap in the booth. Every kid is different. We have only dine H&V for lunch or breakfast because of the kids and characters.

Happy meal planning. Oh one more thing at Teppan Edo they do not do anything with fire like a smoking volcano. Flames are against Disney's policy. That is why my kids like Teppan Edo so much because no fire.

We are going to try Marrekesh this time during a belly dancing show. I hear that the food is great and the dancing is really fun for all. Have you thought of there?

CRT might be cheaper at lunch over dinner, not sure. I need to feel out Sci-fi with the kids (whats the world coming to, asking kids opinion lol)

Lets talk about Teppan Edo. Isnt it just like Benihana? If so then we can do that locally, right?

Marrekesh would be delightful if we didnt live so close to Dearborn MI. Dearborn is the second most Arab populated place outside of the Middle east, and we LOOOOVE it! fresh cheap arab food everywhere.

I'll update my selections tonight. Would still love your opinion. :worship:

Yes, Teppan Edo is just like Benihana minus flames/fire.

Lucky you to live so close to some great food. We are not that lucky.

Can't wait to see what you decide.
