Where does everyone get their ponchos? We have 2 adult sized Disney ones (there goes my hope of just carrying my crossbody bag) but we'll need 2 more. The dollar store ones looked really cheesy and hardly worth even $1. I found some at Five Below that I originally thought were too bulky but given the forecast maybe I'll just go back and get those...

Hello my fellow August Disers! I'm sitting in Jury Duty waiting to see who is going to be called so I figured I would say hello to you fine folks!

We got our Magic Bands yesterday! Woooo!! When I get home I'll post them to the FB page. I got pink and DH got green because "geniuses pick green" lol I wish I was making that up lol.

The past few years, we have been doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package. I think we did it 3 times and only saw Fantasmic once lol (the show was off due to rain). I originally ha ADRs for Narcossee's, Marrakesh, and Via Napoli. Last night, DH asked me why we didn't have the Fantasmic Dinner Package booked. So I cancelled Via Napoli (sadness, I know) and I'm going to book the package at Hollywood and Vine when I get home. I would have kept Via Napoli but DH put a 2 ADR limit and I'm already past that with 3 lol. He tried to convince me to cancel Narcossee's and we'll just have Marrakesh as our anniversary dinner. I told him absolutely not lol. He doesn't want to cancel Marrakesh so I think I won the battle lol.

Anyone else doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package?

Still waiting on DH to order our park tickets. He asked me if I booked our FP+ yet. I said no because we need the park tickets first. I'm just going to keep bothering him every day this week until he does it lol.

I haven't started packing yet but I have a list in my head started. I might start putting clothes that I want to take in a section in my closet so I can just pull it out when I'm ready to start. I'm thinking of trying the sundress and skirts route this time around. Not everyday, but some of them.

I get mine at Target in the camping section. They are about $1.50 and yes, they look like garbage bags lol. But! They are definitely sturdy and they last the whole day (even a few days) in the rain. I bring a few with me just in case. They are really easy to carry. They are in a small ziplock baggie that is easy to carry in a backpack or purse. Hope this helps!

We got ours at a sporting goods store. Heavy vinyl so they last pretty good. Huge on the kids though. When we used them in 2010 we put them over top of the stroller during a deluge while we were at DTD.

Might have to get smaller ones for the kids so they can walk around and feel comfortable. DD2 will be in the stroller part of the time but does like to get up and about.

Drat! I need to come to your Target, mine only has Coleman brand ones for $10... I'm going to check Dollar General and Big Lots when I get my car back (it's getting the bumper repaired and an oil change for the trip.)

One month from right this moment, I will be at the Syracuse airport preparing for our flight . Does anyone else find that time seems to be racing by? (after dragging for so very long?)

Got the call today that our foundation waterproofing is being done tomorrow. Then the interior repairs to the basement bathrooom can be done, and the new driveway can FINALLY be poured. The countdown is on, so hopefully all that stuff comes together quickly so I can pare my focus down to our vacation.

Hard to believe we will be reading trip reports from the early August travellers in just a short while!! Is anyone planning on checking in to this thread from their resort while they're in Orlando?

The Tiki Room refurbishment has been cancelled!

Now if they'll just push back/cancel Muppet Vision 3D we'll be all set.

Its a BEAUTIFUL day here in St. Louis--hot but we can handle it. The reason it is so good is that Josh did REALLY good with his treatment last night. NO side effects at ALL and he slept comfortably all night. Due to an increase in steroids, he's ravenously hungry, but that's ok. We can handle that! Doctor said that if he continues to tolerate the treatment this well, we WILL be able to go to Disney in 11 days!! So, to celebrate, we are watching Pirates of the Caribbean and talking about vacation!!! Then, to top it ALL off, I read that they have postponed refurb of the Tiki Room!! Its not like that would make or break our vacation, but its nice to know it will be open!!!

THANK YOU, ALL of you, for the prayers, happy thoughts, and Pixie Dust!! I KNOW that's why Josh is doing so well!! If it weren't for our friends being so thoughtful and positive, it would be a hard road for us!!!

but I am bursting to "share" and we've decided to wait to tell family and friends so thought maybe I could tell all of you!

We are adopting a daughter from Haiti , just started the process on Tuesday this week.

So, in 32 days we head to Disney on what will probably be our last trip as a family of 6. We've decided Disney is on hold until after the adoption is complete....but look forward to visiting with our new daughter some day!

We have decided to buy the Ponchos at Disney, they are sturdy but if they rip, they will replace it with new ones!
I have bought too many ponchos over the years, would have saved myself lots of stress and money if I had just invested in the Disney ones long ago.

I "think" they are <$10 in the parks....someone correct me if I am wrong.
