ª"˜˜ª¤.¸Team August 2013 Thread! (Part 2)¸.¤ª˜˜"ª&#9733

Since the bands are more then likely going to be out for everyone for my families November trip I am already sending out pictures showing all the band colors so they can have their color choices picked for me to enter. I can start picking bands and fP+ the first day of my August trip. So I know what I am doing the first evening after dinner of my disney trip. Making sure everything is booked for the family. I am happy I got picked for this test so I know how to plan the big family trip. :thumbsup2

I have a question about split stays...does Disney bell services transfer the luggage from one resort to the other?

Originally, we were supposed to have an early flight home so we were staying the night before at an airport hotel and the ME would take us on our last day from POR to the airport. But now that our return flight has been changed to 2pm, I started thinking that I could book a standard room at one of the values (slightly more expensive than the airport hotel and doesn't include breakfast) but then we would be able to stay at MK till close and see Wishes again rather than leave the park around 5-6pm to get on the ME. I just want to make sure we wouldn't have to worry about our luggage.

Ok. I had my cute post earlier, time for my rant post.

We've had this trip planned since January. We told family that we wanted it to be a surprise to our kids. DS13 eventually figured it out...which is ok. He was told NOT to say anything to DS7 (DS1 is oblivious...hahah). In about March, while at my mother in laws house, my sister in law asked my DW (loudly) what the dates to our DISNEY trip were. My DW gave her a look and toldher to keep it down as DS7 didn't know. 'Oh, sorry.' In May, she did the same thing. She got the same reaction. This past weekend, we had a party for DS7 at the beach, when sis in law asks 'Why are you waiting til Disney to cut DS1s hair?' My DW took her aside and asked her to not bring up the trip again, as it is supposed to be a SURPRISE to DS7.

I don't know if it's jealousy, or just her wanting to be petty about it or what. It's not like her family (only 2 Dkids) can't afford to go for a week. If we can, anyone can.

That's all done now. Thanks.

Kudos to you for keeping it from your 7yr old. When I found out Mom was taking me and my DDs is the exact moment they found out and I couldn't have kept it from them a moment longer.
You have a some SIL. Three times and I'd have pulled her aside as well!

Everyone we know is telling us we're crazy and we'll be so hot and miserable. Guess what, I'm hot and miserable in NJ and working. I'll take a week of being hot & miserable in Disney World anytime! Non disney people just don't get it! My only hope is the heat and crowds doesn't make my husband turn into grumpy! We don't normally go this time of year and he sometimes has less patience than the kids :/

This is my hope for my husband too! It was unseasonably hot in December last year and he was not always a happy camper. Hopefully the mid-day breaks will help him be in a better mood!

Ooops made a mistake I'll only be there till the 23rd! Hotels are booked now too! 14th- Royal Pacific (Universal) 15th-18th- Wilderness Lodge, 19th-22nd- Pop Century. :yay:

Still having WDW Touring shoe problems...
So, I have looked at these Sketcher's GoWalks online:

But already bought these Merrells:

Do I risk the online purchase of having to mail them back if they don't fit, AND having to drive a half hour to return the Merrells if I like the GoWalks better?

I didn't like the Go-walks at all. They didn't have the arch support that I need. Not sure that helps you though. Is there somewhere you could run and try on the Go-walks and then buy them online if you like them?

Quite proud of myself today... I finally unsubscribed from the MB, MM+, FP+ threads. I'm only 16 days out, haven't received an email inviting me to a test and I'm not staying at one of the resorts that's been mentioned so it seems I no longer need to worry about it.

Yes, bell services will transfer your luggage. We have done several split stays. You will just need to tell them where your luggage is going, and they will deliver it there. Sometimes it doesn't show up until later in the day though.

Its a BEAUTIFUL day here in St. Louis--hot but we can handle it. The reason it is so good is that Josh did REALLY good with his treatment last night. NO side effects at ALL and he slept comfortably all night. Due to an increase in steroids, he's ravenously hungry, but that's ok. We can handle that! Doctor said that if he continues to tolerate the treatment this well, we WILL be able to go to Disney in 11 days!! So, to celebrate, we are watching Pirates of the Caribbean and talking about vacation!!! Then, to top it ALL off, I read that they have postponed refurb of the Tiki Room!! Its not like that would make or break our vacation, but its nice to know it will be open!!!

THANK YOU, ALL of you, for the prayers, happy thoughts, and Pixie Dust!! I KNOW that's why Josh is doing so well!! If it weren't for our friends being so thoughtful and positive, it would be a hard road for us!!!

Still praying, but that is fantastic news so far!

Oh Thanks, that totally helps! I know I really want the arch support. Now I've found Orthoheels and a pair of Crocs sandals (but upon second look they have no arch support either.) I'd post more pics but this is a Disney planning thread, not a shoe crisis hotline. LOL

If arch support is what you're after I can HIGHLY recommend these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000RHLKC8/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Keep in mind they only come 1 in a package so if you order you need to order 2. I have HORRIBLE feet. Plantar fasciitis and diabetic foot issues (hot, tingly, sweaty, etc) I'm using those straps and rotating between Crocs Ultimate Cloud, Fitflops and New Balance flip flips (I can't remember the model but they mold to your feet after wearing.)

I don't think anyone would mind us discussing it here but there are a bunch of threads on shoes around the boards if you'd rather be there.

Funny you should suggest the bandage. I don't want to keep the Merrell sneakers as I don't really want anything on the top of my feet. That's why ballet slipper style sneakers sounded so good to me. The orthoheels are a really molded soul with a strappy sandal which would keep my feet cool and sweat free. I just bought the Merrells at the end of a long unsuccessfull shopping trip a few weeks ago worried I'd never find anything in time for the trip. Oh and I'd like to buy something I will wear after Disney, unlike the Merrell sneakers which I don't see me wearing ever again.

Augh! My TA just got me an ADR for BOG on our last MK day. I almost gave it up (crazy, right?), but our Plaza ADR was for around the same time, and she said the price point wasn't too much different. We were finishing watching BatB when she IM'ed me, so DD is excited. I am too! This saves time I would have spent waiting in line for lunch.

Don't know about arch support, but those GoWalks are CUTE! I need another pair of walking shoes, also. I love, love, love my Teva Mush Frios, but they have evidently been discontinued. I'm going to a shoe store in NC next week to see what I can find there.

I can't stand anything on the top of my foot either. My feet swell really badly too so I need room. That was one of the things I didn't like about the Go-walks, even though they're ballet slipper looking, they were getting tight across my toes pretty quickly. I've been walking about 2.5 miles a night in the straps with the crocs and having NO pain... for me that's huge! We're going to bump up by about a mile starting tomorrow if it doesn't rain in the evening. Good luck finding something that will fit the bill for you.
