Hey has anyone ever driven to Tampa or St Petersburg from Orlando?

Done it a few times. On our last trip we actually drove back to Tampa on our way home to swing by and visit my grandparents. Depending on traffic it's about an hour to an hour and a half from the Tampa airport to WDW. Really easy drive. I've actually looked into flying into TPA a few times but rarely has it been cheaper when you factor in the rental car, gas, time, etc.

In other news the website appears to be functioning better today. I was able to go through and book a trip for next year without any delay. It actually seems to be quite fast. No weirdness with my reservations page, errors, etc. Also in the profile section there is a new section for MagicBands and Cards, similar to what is on the mobile app. Nothing is registered yet of course, but it's definitely getting closer.

Yes, it is a very easy ride. Tampa is about an hr. away. One road to get there. St. Pete beach is about another half hr. away. I might be slightly off on times but not to much. Both places are very nice. Really liked St. Pete beach. Have fun if you decide to go. :)

Well, I know that my niece had to get stitches on her forehead the night before this picture, but I'm sure they are having a great time. You should see the faces of my nephews posing with the princesses! Lol
Oh no! Did something happen at Disney or at home? I hope she's ok!

I love Disney, but don't want anything that badly.

With an unlimited budget, 15 trips in 5 months would be fun to try. It might start to feel a bit like "Groundhog Day," but there are so many combinations of resorts and restaurants, that you could do it without repeating things. I'd be glad to try it if I could find a sponsor! :)

That's right, slipped my mind. Lol. Can't believe we're almost down to under 20 days!!! DW still thinks we're staying at POR, she's set on renting a surry bike when we get there to tour the grounds. Can't wait to see her face when she finds out we'll be at CR!

:-) priceless!! You will have to take pictures!! :-) And of CR so I can have a virtual split stay! Hahaha. 22 days!!!! (It just went under 20 until we leave - since we're driving and going to Sea World first)

Did anyone else hear they are removing the fridges from most Disney world resort rooms due to defect? And that you won't be notified of this until you arrive with a letter In your room? This sucks for our breakfast in room plan!

Where'd you hear that?? That would suck...

We are late to the party, but we are here!

I am booking an impromptu trip today for 8/20-8/25. We are staying at POP--our first time on-site! It will be me, DD (7), DS (10), and DMIL. We just went last December, so this will be a laid back trip. We are going to do two days at MK, and two days at EP. No ADRs! We will do CS or food court at POP.

It will be a different kind of trip, but I am looking forward to it!

What an amazing story and experience for your DD!!! How is she doing now?

I had seen the shuttle service that goes from LAX to DL, and at first thought we'd just do that. But then I started thinking we should really fly in a day early and explore LA a little bit. But then we'd be stuck without transportation unless we went back to the airport? I looked up a rental car quickly and came up with one for $108 (I'm sure I can do better as that was my only search) and the shuttle will be $72 so it might be worth it if I don't have to pay for parking.

It was amazing. A lifetime of memories. It definitely made her happy at a time when she was really struggling. She has had 30 surgical procedures and had a kidney transplant. Post transplant she's been healthier than she ever was before. However, there's a part of me that holds my breath in the background waiting for there to be problems. Luckily she's 15 and doesn't yet think of such things. Thanks for asking!

We are at 25 days...in a way I don't want to get there because I'm not sure when we'll be able to do another trip so right now I know we're going, after this...

This would REALLY suck and interfere with plans. Can someone point me to the FB group so I can read more about this. I'm thinking of calling my resort to ask about this, any reason I shouldn't do that?

Reading a few rumors on here that I don't like and are making me question just what is going on with Disney. Some official word on plans would be nice.

The refrigerator thing is concerning that they aren't notifying guests prior to arriving. What if you make an order with GG or someplace or even bring your own stuff and then have no way to keep it? I'm definitely not ordering anything now just because I don't know if I'll have a fridge to put it in.

Also seeing a rumor that the Osborne lights may be going away to make room for expansion at DHS. While we don't go at Christmas time every year it's really an awesome display and my wife and I went there during our first trip together and it's a special place for us. It was one of the things we looked forward to most last year when we went.

I understand there are reasons for doing some of the things they are doing, but unless there is official announcement about new things coming it just makes you wonder what the plan is. I priced out a trip for June next year and it's coming out to about $50 more without flights than what we're paying this year for our trip with flights. I know it's different seasons, but it's still a pretty steep increase. :confused3
